High Wheel Confectionery and Coffee House

We were driving through Ironton on a Sunday and saw High Wheel looking all lovely and proud on its corner. Wife and I pulled over to stop in and unfortunately saw that they were closed typically on Sundays.

However I saw a few people inside, so I pulled the door and sure enough, it popped open with a ding. From there, we had the absolute pleasure of meeting the sweet family that owned the spot, all happily helping others surprised they’d be open on a Sunday.

We bought an (extensive) amount of candy, a few coffees and wandered upstairs where we came across some books and toys. After relaxing for a bit, we made our way out.

What a truly wonderful spot with wonderful owners. We will absolutely be stopping any time we come through the area.

Feel like a little kid again at this amazing candy store! They also have ice cream flavors /cones, drinks, fudge, popcorn, and I believe there is a toy shop upstairs, too? Enjoy my photos! I came in December 2023, but am just now posting photos.

We came in to get a cuppa Joe while visiting (@ironton_island) and we got one black and two honey lavender coffees. I'm not a coffee drinker, but my friends said their drinks were fantastic. There were also a bunch of other random things to look at (sodas, toys, knick knacks, etc.) both on the main level and upstairs. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great. 5 stars from me!

We reminisced about candy from our childhood! Huge selection, neat pop selection, great ice cream! They have a dairy free option, which most places don't have in Crosby/Ironton. Gorgeous lounge upstairs with a toy shop.

Adorable shop with every type of candy you could ever want. They have bulk candy to purchase by the pound, all sorts of packaged candies, delicious chocolate truffles, ice cream, and great coffee! Upstairs has all sorts of cute toys, fidgets, and gifts. They had great service of smiling faces happy to help with any questions. I highly recommend stopping here! What a fun place!

Love this new place :) Lots of variety and the candy and coffee tasted great and the staff was super friendly even though it was opening weekend and they were super busy. Very cute toy area upstairs too so don’t miss it!

Cute confectionary and coffee shop! Lots of candy, toys and treats. The coffee was also great! Everyone behind the counter was so nice. Theres a cute little toy area upstairs, and they are currently renovating a space up there for seating; it looks like it’s gonna be really nice.

We tried the caramel corn and it is absolutely delicious , the best caramel taste and fresh !

Amazing coffee, candy, fudge, chocolates, ice cream, sodas and treats! Friendly and helpful staff with a cute lounge upstairs to hang out or work in, along with a unique toy store. Super addition to the community.

The coffee is fantastic! A delightful place to peruse through rows of nostalgic and new candies. Joy is had by kids and adults alike. Had your fill of sweets? Tickle that inner child by visiting the toy section upstairs. Fun addition to Ironton!

Very unique place. It is Always great to see and support other small local businesses in the area. The manager that was working was the absolute best and very nice. i had the iced honey chai latte, that was great.

I used the meeting space on the 2nd floor for some CRMC Leadership Training. Great space, great view, comfortable, no technical issues. The staff even helped us with a team building activity and did a great job! Fantastic experience.

MUST STOP! What a charming store!! A spectacular revitalization of the old bank. The candy options are epic and the coffee is amazing! Be sure to visit upstairs with the game room and take in the atmosphere in the lounge. No detail has been spared in this renovation and it has something for everyone in the family- popcorn, ice cream, candy, coffee and games. We could’ve stayed longer just to soak it all in. The owners are super friendly and you can tell they love their job. I’m so excited to make this place part of our family tradition in the future!

My grandson and I had so much fun visiting High Wheel. Lots of great varieties of candies. Good mix of price points. Some candy is .35 each piece.
We has great customer service - everyone working there was pleasant and clearly enjoyed their jobs.
We'll visit again!

What a great addition to the area and a wonderful place to make memories and enjoy a treat. First off the building is a beautifully resurrected 100 year old brick bank, which creates a wonderful backdrop for all of the fun inside. The staff is super kind and helpful, the ice cream is delicious with generous portions, tasty coffee, fudge, a huge selection of unique soda and soooo much candy. Don’t forget to check out the toy and gift section upstairs… and enjoy your treats in the lounge. We love this place!

This store is gorgeous with a friendly, helpful staff! My husband and I enjoyed stopping and going through all the candy, taffy, sodas, fudge, ice cream and toys. It was so much fun! Our boys are enjoying the ice cube fidgets and taffy we picked out for them and can’t wait to come with us next time!

Especially large and fun selection of gummy candies. Excellently remodeled inside the old building. Not too overstocked. Ice cream choices seemed interesting. Toy store on second floor leaned more towards young kids, but some outdoor toys for older kids.

What a beautiful and unique addition to the Crosby/Ironton area! A huge assortment of treats and sweets, ice cream, fudge, coffee, and toys! There is a little something for everyone :) The staff was so friendly and helpful, too! We will definitely be back! Thank you for such a fun place to bring our family!
