I loved playing with the kitties and getting to know them. It's a great way to consider adoption or even just to have some kitty play time. The owner was super nice and have lots of information to help get to know them. Worth the drive. There is coffee, soda and some snacks for those who show up starving and kitty themed gifts.

Came here for my birthday and had the most magical day. The cats were adorable and there was so many toys and treats to play with them. All the cats had different personalities and they seemed so happy. Thank you so much for an amazing experience can’t wait to come back, the iced hot chocolate was also delicious!

We stopped by today on our way through. I had no idea it was here until I was looking for something nearby and came across it. I am so glad we stopped. The owners are super friendly and the shop is adorable. I love the coal mine theme. It’s a great place to stop by and relax for a bit supporting a great cause

A+++! An absolute diamond of a Cat Cafe in the middle of Pennsylvania Coal Country. Owners Kim & Ron have created a safe, spotlessly clean, bright and fun environment for the rescue cats awaiting adoption and the guests! The cats were calm, sociable and well cared for. All available for adoption. The cappuccinos and latttes rival the best of European capitals. A cat lovers gift area with original pins, jewelry and mugs. This cafe is run with a lot of love and hard work. Completely worth the drive from nyc and Philadelphia. I can’t wait to visit again.

We were walking by and wanted to grab a cup of coffee. We came in and ended up getting an hour of cat-time ($10/hr) and some lattes.

The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable. They gave around 10 cats that they get from the rescue and assist in getting the cats adopted/ socialized (and you get cat time). Their cat area is clean with lots of nooks and crannies for the cats. They can fit ~8 people so if you want cat time be sure to book ahead.

The coffee was solid and the gift shop area was cute. Next time I'm in tamaqua I'd stop by for the coffee (and the cats are a plus too)!

The trip I took here for my birthday was one of the best experiences I could ask for. From the staff who cares so much about the cats and have endless knowledge of all of them, the coffee being quite tasty and the selection of unique gifts. This place was beyond my expectations. I highly suggest this as a fun little trip!

What a wonderful concept! The cats are so well taken care of and are truly at peace as they wait for their fur-ever home. It was very therapeutic to hang out with the purrs. It was common ground I could bond with my 16 yr old son. Thank you Coal Cat Cafe 😻

Do you like cats? Do you stop to pspspsps every cat you see? If so, Coal Cats Cafe is the place for you! You walk into a small shop with trinkets & a little coffee bar, which is all wonderful on its own but for $10 a person, you get to meet & spend time with the kitties. My boyfriend & I came here recently [after hearing about it on tiktok] & spent quality time loving on the cats.

Be careful though, if you aren't able to adopt one, you'll soon find yourself checking their FB for updates [weekly or daily] & texting your boyfriend "so & so found a home!!"

10/10, we will be back! Excellent way to spend an afternoon!

It was an awesome place! Great owners and service! Nice gift shop, has different hot and cold beverages and small snacks. They redid the place and it looks so nice, great decor and setup. It was an enjoyable time hanging with the cats and playing with them.

The staff was one of the most friendliest, nicest people we've ever met. The store they had, had such cute stuff for reasonable prices. The coffee was delicious! Oh and the cats were the sweetest little beans. Someone needs to go adopt Ms Fanta, she is so soft, so fun, and so sweet. All the cats there really were amazing. I highly recommend this place for all of your cat, coffee, and adoption needs! :)

Definitely should stop by, the cats are very social and like to play.
The drinks are very basic but they are not very expensive, and do taste very good, and are much more consistent then the Dunkin in town.
It IS more about the cats then the drinks because that is literally the point of the place so don't be to surprised.
They do have soda and water if you don't want coffee or hot coco but still want something while playing with the cats.
The 'gift shop' is nice it is small but not cluttered has a lot of cute little things for sale. I got my cat some cat toys while i was there and he really seemed to liked them, and he is pretty picky.

Such a cute place to relax and cuddle with all of the sweet cats. There are so many adorable spots for the cats to climb and nap. The shop has a great selection of gifts and toys! Looking forward to our next visit.

Have a coffee and sit and play with cats. The cats were mostly friendly and energetic. They all seem well cared for and if you fall in love they are up for adoption. Also the coffee was good.

I loved it here! It's very clean in the cat room and the owners are friendly! They have a selection of coffee drinks and treats and a little store with cat theme items. I would definitely recommend supporting them!

So happy I was able to find this place. The cats are very friendly and playful. A very nice relaxing time. Coffee was very good and the owners were very friendly. I recommend checking them out! To enter the cat den it is $10 - which is 100% worth it.

Cute little cat cafe! We met the owners and they clearly care so much for the cats. The cats all seemed so happy. The cat area was very clean and designed with cats in mind.
