wanted to try this place out and they didn't disappointment! wasn't able to sit inside for very long, but the atmosphere was serene. the sweet treats and coffee are amazing! I got a vanilla bean latte and a m&m cookie. it's a great spot to study, go by yourself, or with friends. might make this my favorite local coffee spot :)

Finally an amazing coffee shop with excellent customer service! 🥹 the space is also really nice with lots of natural light and outlets! You haven’t really lived until you’ve had their nitro chai on tap…it’s too good! ☕

Scrumptious, Refined & kind. Barista was so nice. The space is elegant, it’s in an old bygone era movie theater, it could use a little more pizazz & maybe an end counter for pick up but seating & lighting is great. Even had a larger back room for what seemed to be small meeting spot. The cookie I had was out of this world. Coffee was simple & understated but in a good way. Quite tasty. And if ur there on a Sunday the same building has a newer to the area non-denomination church 🥰

Love this new cafe in West Allis. The staff was friendly, the place looks great, my latte was delicious and they serve Hatched bakery items 🤤 I will be back!

The Rose Thorn was excellent! I got it with almond milk. It was light, warming, and flavorful. Service was phenomenal as well. The barista was knowledgeable when it came to the specialty drinks and their ingredients and was kind enough to elaborate on them to my boyfriend and I this late Sunday morning. The passion for the work they do really showed through the services they provided. It's our first time here, and will definitely be returning!

love love love it! such a peaceful, inviting place to get work down or simply relax with a cup of coffee. extra points because it's never overcrowded or noisy like other popular coffee spots!

Really great coffee! They have my favorite nitro coffee. They also have great seasonal drinks like the maple latte (made with real maple syrup!). Their bakery is very tasty too!

Stopped in for coffee and a morning treat and was very pleased with everything! My cortado was hot and tasty! Beautiful place!! This would be a great place for a coffee house acoustic hour!

i once a couple days after. this establishment open. bought an orange juice. in a bottle. i showed up today. didn't find it. instead i got some kind of bottled drink. with apple juice. mixed with. some kind. of veggie blend. it was pretty decent. the bottle said. it was bottled in cudahy. and got rid of heavy metals. and had calcium. and vitamin c. i only go there. once in a bluemoon. although! i wish them the best...

I wish they had sandwich or wrap options for food— but, the coffee shop is a smaller operation, so I understand why that’s not offered. Coffee is really good and the atmosphere is nice—especially when you just want to be somewhere with people but also get work done.

A great addition to the neighborhood! I've been here a few times already and really like the atmosphere: quiet, inviting, friendly staff, and great coffee and tea. I've enjoyed reading here and also doing a little work. My street is currently under construction (I work from home!), so it's nice to walk down the street to have a coffee and do a little work in a comfortable space.

Had a very friendly and helpful barista serve me a vanilla bean latte and a savory scone from Hatched bakery. Recommend giving this newer place a try to all locals and those visiting or new to the West Allis area.

I am so happy to have found this slice of paradise! Colin put his heart and soul into Lake Effect and it is apparent. The nitro cold brew is out of this world. I strongly recommend swinging in. Lots of beautiful natural lighting.

Enjoyed an excellent espresso (I'd go as far as to say one of the best I've had in MKE) great care for their craft, kind staff, great windows, seating, and aesthetic, clean, easy to find parking. Will be back without a doubt!

Beautiful space with delicious beverages and local bakery. This is the place to bring friends to catch up or work peacefully. I'm so excited to have them in our neighborhood! The street parking is limited, but there is a lot across the street with 4 hour parking.

Unique drinks! You can’t find drinks like this anywhere else. Coming from a coffee enthusiast. Staff is very friendly and always greet you with a positive/enthusiastic attitude.

I’m so happy we finally have a local coffee shop in West Allis that is bright and has decent Wi-Fi for work! The space is large and they have tons of seating options; perfect for a meeting. They have a great coffee, Rishi tea, and (canned) beverage selection; partnered with Bake Sale (on Becher) for hand pies/pastries; and the customer service is top-notch.
