Cronk's Cafe

Cronks has reopened under new management and they've done a great job breathing new life into this cornerstone of the community. We had American-style breakfast and the portions were large and the food was great. Definitely a business worthy of support!

I love, love, loved the food. I ordered the vegetable quesadilla and it was amazing. So much flavor and amazing portions. The service was good and the place looked really nice.

We were wow'ed by this place on a number of levels. The staff was friendly and talkative, we felt welcomed instantly. The prices are awesome, 7 people are for under $50. And if you are unsure of what to order, get the broasted chicken, you won't be disappointed. Overall, we're planning to make this a regular stop when we're driving through.

The breakfast food had large portions cooked to perfection.

The food is probably the best from a family cafe type of restaurant that I've had. I had the meatloaf on this visit and the flavor was different and impressive. The gravy tasted like it was their own recipe and not a boxed gravy mix. Not bad on the price and a generous amount of food too. They actually served veggies and a small salad with their meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Great comfort food! I will have to try something different on my next visit.

Our waitress was good at not being too invasive, but paid attention to our drinks adequately. So I liked the service too. Visited on 2/19/20. Love the name too, Cronk's Cafe.

Great Sunday brunch with many choices! Great staff! Warm, cozy place to eat with family and/or friends! We were in town for a wedding on Saturday. On Sunday, the Bride & Groom and their families enjoyed a wonderful brunch together before everyone went their ways. If we ever get back that way, we will definitely eat at Cronk's!

Omg great fish sandwich, fries were so crunchy. Then I had the cheesecake. I make my own so I'm a big critic, it was delicious. 😄 Wonderful staff and clean all around. Worth a stop any time 10 out of 10 stars

Their Sunday brunch buffet is the best! They have custom omletes, freshly made waffle boats with an assortment of goodies to add. Also have scrambled eggs sausage biscuit and gravy and a lot of freshly made pastries, plus so much more. An amazing juice selection. I would highly recommend them. Also would recommend coming early as it is a favorite location for people to go to after church.

We needed a place to stop on the way back home, and from years ago when we had family living in Carroll, we had Cronk's recommended as a stop, and I am so glad they did. The service was fantastic and friendly, the food was incredible, and the atmosphere was very relaxed and comfortable. I had the bacon cheeseburger, something I've had many places and this was really a standout for me, and the rest of our group had nothing but praise for the place. Just a great meal at a great place, gladly given five stars.

They have the most wonderful brunch buffet on Sundays. From a made in front of you Omlet bar, also Waffles made in front of you.
They have ham, sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits & sausage gravy.
Then there is at least a dozen different fresh pastries, bread pudding, apple crisp, and a fruit & melon bar with fresh juices.
It is absolutely delicious and amazing.

I enjoy going there for brunch the cooking the omelets is very nice always happy just like the rest of the staff ,our waiter is nice too i think his name John . Great food , price is good no complaints. Will be going back from time to time.

Cronks is one of our favorite places to eat. They are inexpensive and the workers here go above and beyond. They were checking on us and are always good about keeping our cups full. We also have a one year old and they always play with him. It's a very nice family friendly place to eat.

Sadly, this iconic diner and part of Iowa's history is now permanently closed after being in business since 1929. Their root beer was legendary! The place is for sale, so there is still hope that someday soon they might be open again.

DELICIOUS! & great service... Everything is homemade. The breakfast buffet was very reasonably priced. Omelets made at the buffet with fresh ingredients. We'll definitely be back!

A very calm atmosphere where you can have a cup of coffee or tea and chill or have a very nice meal. The wait staff are always very kind and almost always willing to have a short conversation if they're not busy. I very highly recommend this place.

Wonderful atmosphere and staff! Aaaaamazzzing French fries! I've been there twice in the last month! Cheesecake was devine! If you are in or even just close to Denison, IA, a visit is well worth the drive.

If you have not been to Cronk's for the Sunday morning buffett, you are missing out. Staff is super nice and the food has been great every time we go and be honest, who can live without ever eating a waffle boat filled with fruit and whipped cream or butter and syrup. The pasteries are just beyond the reach of being able to try them all in one visit because there are just too many and the made to order omelet stand is amazing.

Buffet was fabulous! It came with with delicious pastry section that was made in house. In addition to the standard breakfast staples, it had a juice bar and omelets that are made to order.

Their chicken special on Monday is very good. A person gets a bowl of coleslaw and 3 chicken legs,french fries, dinner roll and a cookie and dinner roll all for 5.00 dollars.
