Top Shelf Models

Wanted to share some pictures I got a few months ago since there aren't many posted from the inside. Incredible selection in new and vintage model planes and cars, plus custom decals and parts. I came for some N scale stuff, and although not as vast as the car and plane kits, I walked away with a used Atlas Gold loco at a great price. Appreciate shops like this!

Not so many towns have their own local model shop, so I consider myself lucky the place exists. The owner and shop have been around for 20+ years and I feel good helping support him rather than a big store. He has an absolutely huge selection of cars, planes, ships and others along with model rockets and supplies for rocketry. Definitely worth a visit.

I just found this model shop. What a gem. Last true model hobby shop around. I will make the drive to support this store.

This is a dangerous place! Models both old and new. I saw kits that I've searched months on the internet to find and they were at Top Shelf for better prices than I ran across anywhere. The out of production selection was nothing short of mind boggling; multiple Kitty Hawk kits, Dragon, and old Revell as well as countless others that I'm only vaguely familiar with. Supplies were very well stocked too. It really is everything it claims to be, a well stocked, old school model shop. I'm glad I don't live very close. I'd be in big trouble.

Hands down the absolute best spot in Tulsa/Owasso for model cars, aircraft, ships, tanks and trains. You name a genre, he has it. Hundreds of supplies of every type. Paints, tools, effects, finishes.
Edduard, Tamiya, Revell, AMT, Osprey, Marklin, Aristo, Lionel.
And a very hefty selection of aftermarket decals and photo etched parts and cast resin upgrades for many model brands.
Also anything you could want for building a diorama.

The selection is huge. It's old school and one of the last of its kind in Oklahoma. Probably the country.
He owner isn't a people person, but he's extremely helpful and knows what he's talking about.
Don't call here with dumb questions or have an attitude. He's no nonsense.

That doesn't take away for me as I enjoy the experience of not always getting the fake smile and mandatory greetings that come with most super stores and box stores.

Check the place out and see for yourself and come with lots of money to spend because you're going to find something here that fits your budget and your needs.

Royal is one of the best hobby store owners I meet in a long time.I love his store been going there for years,always friendly, always knowable, and has good support .His stock of kits are from cars to jets and everything in between. I support locally owned!

If you are just getting started or an experienced model builder this is an amazing place to visit. They have a little or a lot of everything you could want. They even offer upgrade parts for all sorts of plastic models and the owner is a really cool guy with loads of advice on the subject

Largest selection of models and accessories in Oklahoma. Royal is always accommodating and willing to order whatever you need. He also offers a consignment service at reasonable rates. He is able to sell your unwanted models quickly. Highly recommend.

I moved back to Owasso after living in Dallas Texas for 32 years. This model shop blows ever model/hobby show in the Dallas Ft Worth metropolex away. So many stores concentrate on RC stuff and modeling is very low on their priority. But not at "Top Shelf Models" it truly is a model shop for modelers of almost any scale. I've found almost everything I've ever looked for here, and at prices that are comparable to online stores and in many cases better. If your a model builder Do yourself a favor and drop by. The no nonsense approach to sales is great and his knowledge of the modeling industry is un matched to anyone I've delt with over the past years... a true 5 star home town store...!!

Love going here whenever I have the chance! Has a very extensive selection of armored vehicles, cars, planes, ships, and sci-fi plus paints, tools, and aftermarket goodies. And if you don't find what you're looking for, he'll see if he can order it for you.

Such a great shop. There are fewer and fewer around. Always a great selection of armor, auto, and aircraft kits as well as the supplies you need to build a masterpiece. Everything for the beginner too!

The owner is very knowledgeable about the model kits that come in. Whatever you're looking for, he has. Whatever he doesn't have, he'll order it and have it ready for you to pick it up. Prices are pretty reasonable as well!

Amazing variety of models, model parts, accessories and magazines. Models from top of the shelf to the lower ones. Paints and decals too. I lost track of time 😬👍🏼

Love this model shop! They have just about every model kit I remember as a kid, and a ton more I never knew about! Highly recommended! Helpful, knowledgeable staff.

This is a shop for people seriously into scale modelling, they have items you won't find anywhere else in the area, and sometimes even online! Difficult to find kits and parts such as Mr. Hobby products, Alclad paints, Hasegawa tools, metal detailing accents, etc. Kit selection is extensive for armor, cars, bikes, ships, and aircraft. Some sci-fi and train kits also, gunpla can be ordered from HLJ's selection but at better shipping rates. Very happy to have this in town and will continue to support them!

Love this place. Privately owned hobby shop like I went to growing up. Royl is a good guy. Classic kits as well as the latest offerings.
