Colonial Inn Ellsworth

We had a room in the annex, which is completely remodeled, and we’re very pleased with the accommodations. The pillows were the best ever and the bed was comfortable. We really enjoyed having a bathtub to soak after long days hiking. Very convenient parking.

Everyone was very nice and welcoming. The gentleman that checked us in gave very good food recommendations. The place was very close to every places that we wanted to see. The rooms were very spacious. Was surprised to see that there was a table with 4 chairs for eating. One thing that I would recommend is to put at least one grab bar to help you get in out of the tub. Would highly recommend this place. If we ever get back to the area will definitely stay here.

Upon check in the gentleman at the front desk was very welcoming and friendly!! He gave us great recommendations for places to eat! The room was clean and comfortable! The people in the lobby were very friendly and their dog Gracie was absolutely adorable!! Thank you for a wonderful stay!! If we are ever in the area again we will be back!!

We stayed here for 3 nights for a wedding . The people who work the front desk were super friendly and very accommodating. They had coffee, tea and some grab and go breakfast items which was nice . We got one of their updated rooms which was really nice . Had a kitchenette, with pots/pans, dishes and silverware. Small fridge, microwave, coffee maker , and a nice small dinner table . The room was perfect for my family of 3 . Thank you for a wonderful stay .

The man at the front counter was extremely nice, helpful, and very welcoming. The room was clean, updated, and had everything you could want. Can't recommend this place enough! My dog's first time in a hotel and it was great.

We had a very pleasant stay, a nice clean room with very friendly and happy front desk staff.

These are beautiful rooms with perhaps the nicest beds and best pillows my wife and I have ever experienced in a hotel. We slept great here. The cleansiness of the rooms and the climate control system is also top notch.

Shout out to the front desk who were able to extend our stay for one day even though the hotel was pretty much booked. We were moved across the hall to another room that was even nicer than the first. Five star experience all around.

We will be definitely staying here again when we return to this area.

Will definitely be spending my time here when I come back through, can't say enough about the place, from the dig friendly atmosphere to the hospitality of the staff and the reasonable rates for a clean place, I recommend it highly.

Wonderful stay. We booked Family Suite which can accommodate 6. 3 Queen size beds, 2 washrooms and a nice gallery/balcony for the outside view. They also had Indoor Heating pool which opens at 9 AM. Really good restaurants and bar nearby. Near to Bar Harbor. The Guys Irving & Berry at Reception were also humble and helpful.

I have a hard time sleeping, even at home, and NEVER sleep more than 3 or 4 hours in a hotel. However, I slept 9 hours here! The firm bed nearly fixed my bad back and there was an abundance of fluffy pillows! The room was clean, all of the bedding smelled fresh, and the staff members are all super friendly and professional. I have not had TV in my home for 10 years and always get lost when trying to watch at hotels. I went to the front desk and the gentleman came right back to my room and showed me how to use it. He even called my room later to suggest I move my car because he was concerned that ice might fall on it from the porch above. For being one of the cheaper rooms in Ellsworth, I did not expect this level of service nor to feel the same safety and comfort as I would sleeping in the guest room of a family member's home. A+++ Recommend!

Last minute decision to stay in the area. When I arrived, I learned that the online site I used sold me a room they didn't have. NO PROBLEM! The staff quickly got me a room that was essentially a studio apartment with a balcony view facing East. It was so nice to sink into the large oversized chair in my room. The bed was comfy; the pillows extra large & fluffy. Other than the chlorine smell closest to the indoor pool, the place smelled clean & tidy. I had such a lovely visit that the "outdated" items didn't bother me in the least. I recommend this local establishment!

Room was very clean. Decor may be a bit dated and it lacked a luggage stand but there is nothing to complain about. All staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again.

Great room and the younger man at the desk checking us in was so nice!! We will definitely be back and will refer friends and family. Affordable and close to ACADIA.

They took out carpets & have beautiful floors downstairs! Very clean! Every hotel should have hard floors no rugs! They did wonderful job!!😊 Absolutely will stay there again when or if I go back to Maine!

Good hotel - has all the basics and no gold trim. We stayed there for three nights. Our room had a microwave and refrigerator, which is exactly what we needed. WiFi was reliable. Heated pool was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. Also it's in a great location and had plenty of parking. This hotel is highly recommended.

Sadie was running the desk and got us checked in really quick. Staff was very friendly and I truly enjoyed them. The room was comfortable and quiet. We had a great night's sleep.

Room was very clean and spacious. Mattresses were very comfy as well. Wash room could have been roomier as it was very cramped. Hotel is around 17miles from Hulls cove Visitor center of Acadia National Park. So we traveled back and forth every day from Bar Harbor/Mt. Desert to hotel during our short stay that used to take anywhere between 30-45m. Other amenities include a fitness center with heated indoor pool. All in all a good place to stay at an affordable price point having visited during peak holiday season of July 4th!

I stayed in the annex... Absolutely beautiful. There was no coffee maker or any xtra bag's for garbage but other than that perfect!!!
