The Riverhouse

What a beautiful house that we were lucky to find and rent for the week! This lovely home in Orland, ME is situated near several charming towns such as Bucksport and Castine. We also were within a nice drive to other destinations like Bangor, Belfast, Stonington and Bar Harbor. It was fun and exciting to drive around and explore the mid-coast of Maine and being able to stay at The Riverhouse made it all worthwhile!

The house has everything you might need during a weeks vacation. A kitchen, bathroom, 2 bedrooms and a comfortable living & dining area. We enjoyed the sunset on the back porch a few nights.

We loved our time at The Riverhouse and in Maine and can't wait to go back again soon!

We have spent two summer vacations at The River House and will return again next June. The owner Dan is a pleasure. The location is beautiful as it overlooks the Penobscott River. It is very peaceful. Everything in the home is as advertised and works. Go and enjoy the coast of Maine the food, weather, outdoor sports, antiques and the people.

If you are looking to vacation in this area this should be at the top of your list of places to stay. Week long rentals in a centrally located cortege with a killer view. Top it off with a great and knowledgeable owner and this is a winner.

Absolutely perfect place, in EVERY possible way!
The location is off the beaten path, but very near to a lot of interesting things.
The house was impeccable, there was literally nothing that could be improved upon.
