This Post Office has the best clerk crew around.
Pete has been here for over a decade and knows everyone and everything.
Alexandria is a walking Postal Encyclopedia and knows things about postage no one should ever find out.
Clayton works hard, tries to save you money, and really wants you to specify if your item marked fragile is really fragile or not.
I've met people from other towns who drive all the way here because the service is that much better.

When you go in it depends on the person who is working if you get good and quick service, also what mood they are in.

Working in a post office is a thankless job, in many ways. When mail arrives as expected, nobody thanks them for the excellent service, but when a shipment goes astray, they hear about it at length and volume. However, the staff at the Tilton PO has always been pleasant and as helpful as the USPS allows them to be. One of the issues with the postal system is that individual employees are not empowered to solve problems. They are hemmed about with regulations, and are as frustrated about their lack of resources as are their customers

I live in Lochmere which is a little sub division (or whatever you call it) of Tilton. We live on a busy road so our mail kept getting stolen, so we opened a PO Box right down the street at Lochmere Post Office. Many times my Amazon, etc packages get delivered to my house directly - I’d say 9/10 times. But SOMETIMES it gets delivered to the Tilton PO and then almost immediately they ship the package back out. My packages also have my PO Box Lochmere address underneath my physical address (which is what the people at the Tilton PO told me to do, so that they know to send it to the Lochmere PO Box) i did what they asked, and it’s been days and my package was never brought to the Lochmere PO. I go into work too early and get out too late to be able to get to the post office on time. I don’t know how much easier i can make it. Also they always make me feel stupid when i explain my situations to them. I think their customer service is severely lacking, and perhaps they’re all just lazy? I don’t know. I’m frustrated and sick of having to leave work early to pick up my packages. 🙄😤

So I have a PO Box at this location and I ordered something online that cannot be delivered to a PO box through UPS. makes sense I understand that part, so I call USPS and ask if there's anywhere I can get it delivered to besides my box. So the lady on the phone tells me that she can make an exception this one time for me and that I was allowed to ship my package to the post offices address. Cool awesome, I place my order and I stop in the office to let them know that I placed the order and to be on the lookout for it. Now the staff is looking at my like I have 6 heads and that I did something completely wrong when THEIR employee said it was okay. They resolved the issue by telling me that they will do their "best" to lookout for my package. (Which is worth 600 dollars and lucrative to my health). So instead I contacted UPS and had my delivery rerouted to one of their locations. I would rather deal with a 7 dollar charge to pick up my mail then to be looked at like I did something wrong when I didn't. Thanks 2 stars.

If I could put a negative 10 stars, I would. We have used this post office for 7 years and been loyal customers. They recently lost several checks of mine and didn't bother to look into it at all. Most of the comments here are of people losing mail and packages. The Management blamed it on new employees and that they had individuals from Machester helping them that don't know the job there. They also tried saying my name was not on the P.O box which it was. I have recieved zero help in the matter and they have nothing to offer us at all for an explanation of why they lost our mail. Instead of taking responsibility for the clear Incompetent actions of their employees they tried blaming us for not having filled out the proper form to have all of our names on the P.O box. The form we were told was in fact filled out by us but probably shredded by accident. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Choose another post office if you can this one has clear issues that they refuse to fix based on the last 4 years of comments on here.

We have two mail persons. One is only here occasionally and she is great, the other is incompetent and he should find a new occupation. Mail and packages are constantly being delivered to the wrong address. Mail that needs a signature, he doesn't even try to knock or ring the bell. No, he leaves the slip in the mail box saying they attempted. I was home all day, he never came to my door... Lazy. So incredibly lazy.

Very unaccommodating and self serving. I live in an apartment building and receive packages weekly. I have known everyone here for years and my post office lady will not leave the packages in my building because she thinks its not safe. So I then suggested to leave it in the package box we have and she said she doesn't feel comfortable leaving it in a secured box. I am then left to make errands to the post office every week just to pick up packages that should have been left at my door or in my secured lock box. I asked them to leave it in the box and she said no with no valid reason as to why not.

This is now the third time I've had a package mis-delivered by a USPS "sub" employee...package ended up at the doorstep of someone's home situated several thousand feet from my own.

It's not hard to read a simple address, people. It's also not hard to take responsibility for it, instead of passing the buck to the seller (who had nothing to do with its delivery).

Very disappointed that nobody knows where it is, and that the person doing the routes hasn't been reprimanded for their gross inadequacies.

Completely useless post office! They take there sweet time to come to the front desk no matter how many times u ring the bell. If u can actually get through to the post master it’s usually rude unprofessional and pointless cause nothing changes.. as far as actual delivery lol what a joke wrong mail all the time or to lazy to actually get out of the mail vehicle to leave on porch so u have to go out of your way to go get it.. when they do leave packages.. I found some under my deck while raining with no bags covered in mud.. when u do get bags on them they screw that up to had a half gallon of water in my package that was actually bagged.. wish amazon gave me the choice cause I would never! Use the USPS complete waste of time
