Mama Said Hand Pies Cafe - Ulysses

Went with some friends to get hand pies, and they were incredible! Exceeded our expectations, especially the potato and cheese one. Friendly service, and a super clean, nice location. Would like to come back and do some work while eating delicious food. Probably not enough food at the prices there for a full meal for us, so don't come too hungry (if you have a big appetite), but would highly recommend overall.

What a hidden gem! Delicious handmade hand pies. A warm, cozy, fire and comfy couch. Good, locally roasted coffee. Games to play. A family favorite for social or study time! Very much worth the mission.

The food is incredibly delicious. Local ingredients and variety. Excellent place for a quick lunch or to just come for coffee and work on your laptop. Their outdoor backyard space is amazing plus Free WiFi available.

Passed this place, made a u turn, and so glad we did! Their savory and sweet offerings we fantastic! And the gal at the front provided excellent information on menu items, with a smile. We will be back!!

Very tasty selection of savory pies as well as some sweet desserts. Good selection of cafe drink staples. Large open dining space with both traditional table seating and comfy couches to lounge on. Also a surprising amount of outdoor seating in the back.

Everything we ate here was so delicious. I recommend coming with friends or family so you can try a little bit of everything. My favorites were the beef hand pie, the potato and cheese hand pie, and the cherry turnover. The chicken/mushroom cabbage roll (a daily special) was so tasty as well. Space is very well laid out with a fireplace and cozy chairs. Gabe and his staff make you feel welcome!

The pies make me wanna break into song and dance. If i could only eat one food for the rest of my life it would be the potato cheddar hand pie.

These hand pies were so amazing, if you are in the area these are a must try. The shop owners are very kind and enjoyable people. The overall experience was fantastic.
Also it's primarily a pie shop but that doesn't mean the coffee was expertly prepared!
Would go again!

Five of us went to Mama Said for lunch and we were Not disappointed. We shared Oaxaca, the potato cheese, the mushroom, and the spinach feta hand pies, and a delicious bean soup. No way to pick a favorite. They were all excellent. We will be back to try more kinds (including there dessert pies, which we forgot to save room for.). Obviously, these hand pies would be great for take out, but the place is comfortable and kid friendly. We happily ate in.

We spent a couple hours listening to great old timey music w/ Rosie and friends and great food.

The food is delicious and always fresh. I tried to eat soup at Panera after eating Mama's soup and I was very disappointed. It's worth the drive for drinks, soups, daily specials, and hand pies!
