Himes Country Store

Great small town store with an old world charm that makes one long for days past. When you step into this little shop you are instantly thrust back to a simpler time. You will be greeted with a smile from Gary and a sandwich from Sam. It is impossible to not feel like an old friend from the time you walk in until the time you leave. This sort of place is thought to only exist on TV or in Movies.
So if you are passing through the area, and have time for an unforgettable experience... Then stop in and say "hey".

Great place! An actual Family Country Store. Nice selection of products, homemade candles, potato salad (wonderful - taste like my Grandmother’s💕) and a deli. My friend purchased a glass antique serving tray for 50 cents! The Owners are lovely, friendly people.

Gary and Sam are the best hands down. The store isn't just a convenience for everyone in the valley, it's a social support hub for all in the area. No two people have done more for the community.

We hiked from Gathland to Weverton and then stopped at Himes for sandwiches on sliced bread. The owners were friendly folks. They put a good amount of meat on each and loaded up the fixings. That spicy relish was great. Each one of us was out the door with a sandwich, bag of chips, and a can of RC Cola for less than $8.

Aside from the sandwiches, they also have ice cream bars, beer and ice, and a small selection of dry goods and staples.

Just about saved my life today: more deyhdrated than I realized and frustrated that no convenience store in Harpers Ferry where the C&O is located, (unless you haul yourself and your bike over the bridge.....)very friendly owner
