Little Truckee Ice Creamery

Little Truckee Ice Creamery made our wedding cake, and it was absolutely perfect! We loved how gorgeous the ice cream cake was, and appreciated Kenny’s attention to detail with our decorating requests. Our guests LOVED it! This is some of the best ice cream we have ever had and could tell that it was fresh and made with quality ingredients. I highly recommend getting an ice cream cake from Little Truckee Ice Creamery, and I hope we have the pleasure of visiting the store when we return to Tahoe.

Absolutely delicious! Perfectly creamy and so many delectable flavors. What fresh ice cream should taste like. From the perfectly balanced chocolates to the creaminess of the Truckee Trails flavor to the diary free sorbets - every flavor deserves recognition. The mint chip is made with real mint! Current specialty flavor is blueberry honey lavender, but they also have classics like vanilla and spooner strawberry. We keep coming back every year (multiple times every trip) because it’s also a great family and dog friendly setting.

A cute spot a little ways outside town, but glad we made the trip (the truck location in Truckee was closed for the season when we were there). Lots of outdoor seating and plenty of shade which was great. A nice patio and grassy area for dogs or kids. The ice cream was creamy and smooth with fun unique flavors like campfire and Truckee trails as well as classics like chocolate and mint chip.

Such good ice cream!!! And very kind service, too. That said, not inexpensive, but chances are you're on vacation when you eat here, so treat yourself (and your dog) and enjoy!

Cool setting near the lake. Nice outdoor seating. Ice cream is home made and delicious! Serving size is big. Owner is a cool climbing expert too! Friendly staff! Must try if you every visit Truckee, especially Donner Lake!

This is our walking treat from our place on s shore Dr either with our family of 4 or friends that visit. 30min to the ice cream shop, feast on their many great flavours (darkhorsecoffee&salted caramel combo -yum!). We love their vanilla pints - just the perfect scoop to make our own affogato! Service is as fast and friendly as can be, the lines can be long, but be patient. All yummy things come to those who wait (and can time rush hr). Parking lot is very small, plenty of street parking on Donner pass rd, though be careful when crossing the road. We either chit chat at the provided tables or take our ice creams to the west end beach and enjoy it there before walking back home. Pints are located inside the store on the left and a restroom. Kids sometimes use it, and it's clean. Little Truckee ice-creamery wa great during the covid year, they masked up and had their guests mask up too, so we were able to enjoy this place a lot (takeout orders, in person window orders). Easy tap&pay method. Tacos are usually sold here but we have yet to enjoy it - only room for double scoop desserts in our belly!

Best place for the ice cream 🍦 around the Donner lake. I like their shot of espresso over vanilla ice-cream and caramel with salt. The best thing is mini size. With my age I can’t have big icecream cups🙂 with this size I can try more verities. They have so many to try. All are great.

Love this little ice cream shop! The service was outstanding, the flavors were out of this world and the line moves quickly! Props to the three young girls running the place and staying calm and chill even with a big line!

Wow, must visit even if you need to drive. Local favorit for sure. I had the salted Carmel ice cream, awesome and the mountain chocolate chip mint, amazing. People were nice and very clean.

Great ice cream shop on Donner Lake! True creamery in that they make all their own ice cream in house. Generous portions, kid friendly, and conveniently located. No pics of ice cream....because we ate it all! Well done.

A small corner lot with great ice cream … unique flavors too! Definitely worth a stop after hiking around Donner Lake!

Delicious ice cream. Kind of expensive but worth it imo. $5 for single scoop (you can still get 2 flavors) and $7.50 for double scoop. The chocolate flavor is delicious.

Great ice cream! We tried truckee trails and toffee chip flavours and loved them both. We also had a cup of coffee and a brownie. Brownie was amazing! Awesome experience!!

Cute little ice cream shop. Delicious flavors, and a great spot to hang out. Very happy to see more little foodie spots showing up on the west side of the lake.

It was a little expensive but super tasty. There were lots of flavors and at least one sherbet. Admittedly, the best value was probably not in their smallest size, but the “mini” is a perfect size for anyone that just wants a taste without a sugar overload.

Nice little ice cream spot!!!! We relaxed with cool treats after a fun day on Donner Lake!!!! We will be back We had 3 different thing's 1 Rootbeer Float 1 scoop Vanilla Bean Ice-cream with toasted Marshmallow and 1 sugar cone with the Toffe and chocolate chunk!!!! Complete with free ice-cream mussstache!!!!!

I ordered the Pecan Praline, and it is honestly the best ice cream I've ever had! 😍 The vanilla ice cream was perfect in flavor and texture and I've never had better candied pecans. I live in the Bay Area but will have to make this a more regular place to stop! Can't wait to try their other menu items!

They ice cream was delicious!!! The line was a little long but it was not too hot and moved steadily.

They only serve beef tacos a couple days per week and you can get with or without onions and cilantro.... they are delicious and a good price! Highly recommend!
