Papa's Mexican Cafe

Pleasantly surprised at quality of food and drink. Had "Alambre al pastor" it is grilled pork with peppers and onions smothered in cheese. Amazing. Ask for side of grilled pineapple... great guac, pico salad, rice and beans. Lunch portion was not chunky. Wife had a fried chicken dish. It was breaded with catfish-style cornmeal breading. Had some of the best homestyle fries we've ever had. Solidly tasty Margarita and excellent Horchata (Rice and almond drink)... Made from scratch, not a powery mix like at most Mexican restaurants. Service was friendly. Building was well maintained, nice murals on walls, clean. Clean restrooms.

12/21/22: Back again to have a wonderful meal. I had the delicious burrito with fajita meat and sour cream on top. Hearty meal. Excellent service as well by Sara. Highly recommend this place.

12/2020: My cheese burrito was perfect. The waiting staff is so kind and with multiple take checks. Worth a stop for any Mexican/American food lover!

Best restaurant in this town by far! Food is delightful, we got great service even with the rush from the eclipse, and it's nicely priced. Building is in great repair, bathrooms clean, and it was overall lovely. 10/10 wish I could go again

In Mena after a long day on the motorcycle and Papas was exactly what we needed. Nice atmosphere, friendly greeting, fresh quick chips and salsa and prompt drinks. The steak fajitas quesadillas were wonderful. Had to get someone’s attention twice for something needed but everyone was super nice and the meal was worth every dime!

This was the second time we stopped at Papa's Mexican Cafe while traveling through Mena. This little place is a jewel. It has been immaculate both times especially the rest rooms. The food is plentiful and delicious. I had the lunch special #3 which was a chicken breast with cheese on it. I added mushrooms. It came with guac, sour cream, beans, tortillas, pico and rice. My husband got the chimichanga. It also came with all the stuff mine came with. Without drinks or tax it was $18. The staff was very friendly. We will stop again when we come through again.

We enjoyed a meal with our family at this restaurant. I had the molcajete. It was very good. Sarah was our waitress. She did a fantastic job. If you are in Mena,Arkansas, you should try it.

Ok, being completely honest here. Mexican food is definitely not my favorite. But I will say this, this place would definitely make it towards the top of my list. No doubt the BEST I have ever eaten. The waitress was definitely great to. Will definitely be going back when I am in town. Thanks

Beautiful restaurant and service was fantastic! The chicken nachos were delicious and so was the flautas.

The waitress was attentive and good attitude. The salsa was good and chips fresh. Choices for salsa, plain, mild, and hot. The food came out quickly and was hot The taco salad was one of the better ones I have had. The Halloween decorations were great.

Love this place. Food was amazing, service was great, but the best feature were the Mango Coronarita's. Absolutely delicious.

If the crowded parking lot isn't an indication of how well this place is, the food will speak volumes. Expect a small wait on the busier nights, but the beverage selection should hold you over.

Whoever is making the Piña coladas, you need a raise! The food and staff are wonderful as well.

The food is great and just like the TexMex we get back in Texas. We have had Amy as our server several times and she goes out of her way to provide us with excellent service. Amy is pleasant, cheerful, and provides service with a smile.

I came on vacation to visit my aunt to accompany her for a week, she asked me to take her to this wonderful restaurant and we had a small problem, but it was solved correctly by a girl named Sara, she was very friendly and cheerful; always with a smile on her face. I will definitely come back to this place. 😄😄💯

Really good food and service. With our large group that ate their they got our food out fast. Look forward to next year.
