Rich Mountain Country Store

We happened to see this interesting store today on our way to Talimena and went in with least expectations. We met the nicest people including the owner who made us lunch which was by the way delicious! Being a vegetarian I did not expect much but got the fluffiest yummiest pancakes! The size of those pancakes! :O We heard a little bit of history and their lives in the area. Clicked some pictures and resumed our journey. Loved the time we spent here and want more people to come checkout this store.

This is the kindest man you will ever meet! He told us some great stories and show us some interesting collectables. We've stopped in the last two times we've been in the area and the breakfast he has cooking smells amazing!

Stopped in today. The gentlemen running the store were kind, and just amazing to talk to and pass the time with. Stop in and see them. You'll be glad you did!

You will be hard pressed to find a better place to get a burger then here. Absolutely the best!

This is a place you don't want to miss! We when on the fall scenic drive. This place has such good reviews we decided to check it out and we are so glad we did. Tom gave us friendly service and Steve definitely makes a tasty homecooked breakfast. Crisp bacon, eggs cook to perfection, biscuit and sausage gravy seasoned just right. Steve took me back to my childhood with his hooey stick my grandfather use to make these (if you don't know what these are your in for a treat) Enjoyed Steve and Tom's company and stories. Will definitely go back any time we are in the area.

Food and service that feels so much like home and THE best burger in Mena PERIOD. Some people travel hours to have a burger here; it's that good. The breakfast is excellent also and the pancakes are the best I have ever had. Steve, Tom and the usual cast of guests are some of the nicest people you will meet and they have the best stories to share. If you want to know about local history, this is the place with a wealth of information.

Its always amazing to walk in to a place and feel welcome.......That's exactly the way you feel when you walk into Rich Mountain Country Store and see so many friendly faces. Steve and everyone there makes this place feel like home from the kindness of everyone your around to the food you eat. It feels like you walk into a warm hug and never want to leave. We went for a drive to Queen Wilhelmina State Park & ran into a man on the drive who told us to go see Steve. The gentleman said Steve makes the best grilled cheese. Ok.... that seems easy, right? But, we went to see Steve and, maybe Tom? Both were the nicest guys. I had the grilled onion & Swiss cheese burger deluxe & my husband had the BLT deluxe, which included a fried egg. My burger was the best I’ve ever had. It was perfect! Not health food - for sure. I needed a shower after eating it; it was so messy. I was in heaven. There was a teacher from Acorn dining there & we all talked for the longest time about history of the area. It was so much fun & we felt like we had made some great friends. This place is NOT fancy, but don’t let the appearance scare you away. It will be an awesome experience. Can’t wait to go back.

My husband and I stopped here after Talimena drive and hiking Black Fork. You’ve got to stop in and see these guys! We all started chatting and Tom put on a show! He is so funny! We enjoyed just visiting with them!! This is a one of a kind down home country store with great hospitality. We didn’t get to eat but heard lots about their cooking. We will be back!

This place is a wonderful little stop. Steve might be the friendliest person I've ever met. Stopped by for some milk, but they were out and Steve offered to pick some up for me when he went into town. Stopped by for breakfast and ended up staying for and hour and half enjoying the food and the hospitality. Kids had a blast with all the puzzles, and Steve had all sorts of tricks to show them. A bunch of birds and other critters to watch out the window of the cafe when Steve goes to feed them. Admittedly, the place isn't much to look at when you drive by, but if you're looking a snack or a good meal with generous portion of Arkansas hospitality, this place is can't miss.

Steve and Lyn and Tom are very gracious hosts! Always have a great time here. The food is delicious, but the experience is exceptional. So fun

What a pleasant surprise hidden in the woods! Stumbled across this place on our way back to Texas. My son had so much fun playing with the puzzles and watching the birds, squirrels and chipmunks while we waited for breakfast. Steve and Tom were so hospitable and had funny stories to tell (be sure to ask about Crooked Toe and State Line Bar along with Letters to a Soldier) and so very informative! The food was great and I can promise you we will be going out of our way to stop by here when we can! wonderful experience! Thank you Tom and Steve!

I found this place when I went to the CMA Colors Rally in Hatfield 3 or 4 years ago. The food is great and Steve remembers me from one year to the next. Every year now that I'm at the rally I make it a point to eat here and I try to bring a new person along to introduce them to this truly unique experience.

I live here and I honestly must say that in the 5 yrs ive been here Steve has helped me in so many ways! He's like a father to me and he has taught me so much. The store is truly authintic in every way a country store should be. Hamburgers are real burgers so anyone coming through make sure to stop here and have a meal and great conversation with Steve.

I really enjoyed breakfast at Rich Mountain Country Store. Owner, chef, and dish washer Steve was a hoot. The spicy hash browns were outstanding. Too bad I live so far away. I'd be a regular.

A random stop at this country store turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. Friendly hosts will throw puzzles at you and engage in interesting conversations while they whip out delicious burgers and patty melts.

To Mr Steve I want to thank yall for ur hospitality very good food and talks about u community history and more god bless u all . If you are traveling by this please stop and have great hamburgers and so much much more entertainment for u and ur family or friends. These kinda of people are rare and few we need more like them.
