Walgreens

This is a very clean store with the usual large and helpful Walgreens selections. The staff were helpful and very friendly, helping me find alternatives to things they didn't have, and even suggesting other stores nearby to get exactly what I needed.
I tell people I was born at this Walgreens back in the day, as the old McMinnville hospital was located here until demolished in the 90's, I believe.

To Anyone who says this pharmacy sucks, my mom works there and she tries so hard to appease everyone but they are low staffed, underpaid, and are constantly treated poorly by customer's, so please think before you post or say mean things about them. Thank you

I have been a customer of Walgreens for several years. I recently purchased a Covid test from the store but never even opened the box. I tried to return the purchase with the receipt but was told by three different employees that Covid tests are not returnable. Of course, I was not happy with this new information. I politely ask the employees where in the store does it state that policy? One employee replied, “it is not but the company employee that checked you out should have told you.”
I pointed to one of the three employees standing in front of me and said he was the guy.
She responded and said, “oh he’s new.” I felt like I was fighting a losing battle. I ask to speak to the store manager. One of the employees spoke up and said,” she’s not here right now.” I ask if someone could call her and the one employees called her on her personal cell phone. The manager’s name was Rachel. She was not available to speak with me at the spur of the moment, understandably.
They took my phone number and said that Rachel would call me tomorrow. Rachel and I talked the next day. She was very polite and professional and apologized for the problem. She explained to me that she does not have the authority to return the Covid test because her cash register’s system will not return Covid tests. She offered to reimburse me out of her own pocket. I declined her offer. I ask her how she was going to help me and she said that she could add reward points to my Walgreens card.
Smart thinking on her part. Her decision to do that gets me back in the store to spend more money. She could have said that there was nothing she could do which would have left me feeling bad about the store. Good thinking Rachel and to her three employees.

Twas driving home from work when I I got so thirsty I stopped to go restroom and got some water. It was handy to stop there.

Please be kind to pharmacy staff.

Unfortunately due to Corporate purchasing all of Bimart's pharmacy customers, and not increasing hours and staff in the pharmacy, the pharmacy staff has been run ragged, are unable to complete vaccinations and prescription fills during open operating hours. Staff has to begin filling prescriptions two hours before the pharmacy even opens, and then have to deal with extremely long lines both in store and in drive thru.

In addition to that, per corporate, staff isn't allowed to enforce mask mandates, and I've learned there are at least a couple immunocompromised staff members or staff with immunocompromised family members.

Learned this from one of the friendly front end staff members. Really love the staff here.

The photo center has the best people! Also, just generally friendly staff. I've heard mixed reviews about the pharmacy itself, but I haven't had to use it so IDK. The rest of the store is great--well stocked, clean, great people...but especially the photo center!

Often they out of sale items but I recently learned they have a rain check policy. That makes for it.

An cashier today, went out her to get me a cart for outside. It was freezing outside because there was no cart in the store.

You can only redeem 5,000 points per transaction but they used multiple transactions.

Walgreens has the freshest candy in all of Portland! It's always fully stocked with quality brands! Joyce the front cashier is very friendly and efficient!

I'm visiting from Arizona state and my meds were due to be renewed. Staff was very helpful in researching my prescriptions and filled them in a timely manner. Very hassel free. Thank you for your assistance.
