Bertie's White Mountain Cafe & Donuts

If you want a small town dining experience with a great menu and food, this is your stop. Homemade donuts that you can customize, different desserts you can buy to go… so many options. Would recommend this place to anyone in the white mountain area!

Amazing food!! The custom donuts are so fun for the kids. This is hands down a must do if visiting the white mountains!

This place is great. Mom and pop country vibe with panache.
The menu has all of the country classics done right, biscuits & sausage peppered gravy, chicken fried steak, ham steaks, hash, etc but then you'll be happy to see some really fun ingredients being used in other dishes like the watermelon radish in their salads, and the quiche is definitely next level.

We were there on a Sunday for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised with live music as well.
Serving sizes are huge, easily shareable, but that might be hard because every dish we tried was so good they disappeared fast!

Be sure to check out the fun saddle seats at the bar for an adult shake for dessert along with what might have been the best damn blueberry pie we've ever had.

It is one of my favorite places to eat, and one of the reasons I stop in Show Low. The staff is amazingly friendly. They go above and beyond and treat you like family and the food is awesome

Delicious food, giant helpings, and friendly service! I think I just found my new favorite place to eat in the White Mountains. Fun, Western decor to look at while we waited on our food, and we didn’t have to wait for long.

We had biscuits n’ gravy, grilled cheese, and a hash skillet. And we got donuts for dessert! Yum! I recommend all of the above. We can’t wait to go and try the rest of the menu.

What a lovely spot for lunch! Service was so accommodating. We walked in with a party of 15 and were seated quickly. Drinks came right away. Kitchen was quick. Food was delicious! Some of the biggest portions we've had in a long time. I would drive from Gilbert just to have lunch here. The atmosphere was adorable. The teens had fun with the saddleseat bar stools. Would 100% recommend!

Wow!! What a nice step back in time with great Decour and environment. Extremely kid friendly, including the menu and they made to order donut experience. The food was excellent and the staff was extremely friendly. Linda was my server, and Robin was kind enough to top off my coffee. Please enjoy the photos and treat yourself to a good meal.

As advertised, Bertie's was excellent! I am a huge fan of breakfast food. I could eat it for every meal. The Chicken Fried Steak was simply the best I've ever had. Lightly crispy, cut-it-with-a-fork tender, so savory. Everything was on point: gravy, eggs, potatoes, coffee, service, and atmosphere. They are also known for their doughnuts, which are made in-house. I recommend the apple fritter.

We visit this Cafe regularly. It is the only True Western Cafe on this mountain & has a full bakery. Problem being, we never know what to order. Everything is so good. My husband's favorite is the chicken fried steak that is so tender you can cut it with a fork. Chorizo & eggs ... fresh made Chorizo that is non-greasy and great consistency. Then made a mistake of trying the breakfast tacos. Another new favorite. Breakfast burritos that are filled with all kinds of goodies. Never disappointed. Not to mention they have the best baker on the mountain baking for them. Come try all the great pastries, pies, cakes, & more. Special orders by request.

We went in early afternoon, when they had their happy hour, so donut prices were lower. I liked the layout of the place, and there was a lot more room there then you’d think. The customizable donuts was unique, and the kids enjoyed it. Black coffee with cream and sugar is the only coffee option, so don’t expect much there. I would go back regardless.

Bertie’s was too cool. The atmosphere was rad. There was a little bit of everything. From shakes to donuts. The menu had the classics and done right.
We got burgers and I got the sweet potato waffle fries. Oh man. To die for. Cooked right. Burgers cooked to temp. AND a hot fresh Apple fritter. Unreal. So good.

Small place, service was good but not great. The food was amazing and affordable. Nothing annoys me more than bland biscuits and gravy, so I was super pleased with how flavorful they were here!

Excellent donuts! I'm kinda picky when it comes to traditional (cake) donuts, and Bertie's nails it. Quality is top-notch, and you "build" your donut like you would at a sandwich shop. You pick your base donut first, then they send your fresh donut down a topping line and add the flavors you want to any donut style. Chocolate, maple, pink chocolate, sprinkles, etc., a whole six foot bar of coatings and toppings, able to go on traditional, bars, cream stuffed, fritters, you name it. So cool.

We went for an early lunch and there was plenty of seating. The menu was diverse and our food was delicious. We went with the French Toast and Pulled Pork sandwich. We had a 1yr old with us and the place was super family friendly. I will absolutely come back for food as well as bakery items.

Always love stopping by for a make your own Donut. Great entertainment is often scheduled. Good fun. Fun atmosphere. Everyone has always been so nice to us!!

I'll admit... the bread, a marble rye, was so soft, fresh and flavorful it might have been baked on site that morning!

Update: I returned for a late breakfast and am so glad that I did. I had the Hillbilly Hash. While it was good, personally I'd have liked it a bit more moist and smaller chopped together. But it was still a great blend of meat potatoes and veg. Included a couple of eggs, and I was stuffed when I finished.

First time eating there and wow was it great. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I had the French Dip with mac and cheese also a side of fries, so good. My daughter had the bourbon Burger with fries, also really tasty.

I would definitely recommend Bertie's. The food was wonderful and the staff doesn't make a fuss if you want to make changes to the menu items. The atmosphere is relaxing. The staff is attentive yet gives you room to enjoy your meal. We were there for breakfast both times. The donuts are great. We are looking forward to trying the lunch menu

Went for breakfast, we had the French toast and biscuits and gravy. French toast was very good, the bavarian cream was a little too much on the sugar overload for me. Eggs were cooked just right. The biscuits in the biscuits and gravy were very fresh and large. The gravy was great. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Nice sized eating areas spread over a couple rooms. Donuts looked really good, but was too full from breakfast.
