J & R Fine Mexican Food

J & R is an amazing gem in Globe. While here for work, I stopped in multiple times to satisfy my cravings for large portions and good food. The prices are beyond reasonable, staff is super friendly, and the drinks (margaritas) are amazing.

I loved their Carne Asada, their Specialty Plates, and Chile Plates. You cannot order anything wrong here, and the staff is so friendly - some of the best Mexican I've had!

The best carne asada you'll ever eat. If you like spicy ask for the hot salsa! It is the best spicy salsa i have ever had!

The food was absolutely delicious. We loved the combination of flour and corn tortilla chips. My husband had the rib eye that was so very good and I had the chicken chimichanga that was the best I've ever tasted. Our waitress was so nice and very sweet and very attentive. Definitely coming back!

Never been there...met my mom for lunch for her birthday. The owners showed lots of love which i loved for her. I had the menudo...very delicious, it tasted like it cooked at day...the cheese crisp melted in my mouth. I couldn't stop eating it. The guacamole was so fresh 😋

Delicious food, quantity was plenty (especially the fajitas) and the service was very timely. Drinks kept refilled and checking in on us without being obnoxious. They do get busy from what we saw. If you're a larger group you may want to call in. Outside seating also.

Excellent Salsa! Wonderful food, a good stop in Globe

Ate here recently after taking a day/road trip from Tucson to Globe just for the heck of it. Now that I have dined here, I'll drive to Globe specifically to eat at this restaurant. Wow. What a place! The chips and salsa are mad-good. The chips are a mix of corn and tortilla, which was a very cool combo. The spicy and mild salsa was excellent. Had the Marinated Grilled Shrimp platter with the works and large guacamole appetizer. Friend had same. Home run on the quality of the food and service. Can't wait to return to try other dishes. Staff was attentive and the owner was a great host.

Super friendly and curtious staff. Were very accomidating to our special circumstances. Great food. Really love that they have flour tortilla chips and very good salsa. Gave us complementary cookies and mints. The outdoor patio is very relaxing with the flame heaters going.

Outstanding meals are served Here! Prices are low, food tastes great. Some reviewer's critics are not fair to Libby's! For what you pay and what you get, it is excellent. It is a very simple, basic restaurant priced at 2 star yet delivering lots of good food. For thus reason l am giving Libby's a 5 Star.

Really nice place staff was very friendly. I really loved the hot salsa and the beans are great. Only minor negative thing I gotta say they took to long to refill drinks. I would highly recommend this place they have great food and great prices. Soild Green chili and red chilli is pretty darn good to. Keep up the great work.

It's a great place to eat! I love the waiters and they're so interpersonal and treat you like family! My food also came quick and it was delicious and well made!

Great place to eat. Food is good. Everyone is so nice. They treat you like family. You also get a lot your money. They catered my husbands birthday party and everyone said the food was great.

On a cool day, the patio was nice and toasty with the outdoor heater.... it felt wonderful as we relaxed with friends, and munched on the delicious tortilla chips and salsa. Everyone's meal was so tasty, and the prices are very reasonable 😊

Roberta never disappoints. Love her restaurant. My absolute favorite. They served 6 adults, 6 boys and 2 girls 13 and under. No complaints.

I reviewed this restaurant when it was Libby's and gave it 5 stars. It is still serving exceptional Mexican food. Their buttered flour tortillas are amazing.
Try the green chili stew as well. This has become my Go-To place when I'm in Globe. This time I brought some out of town guests and they all loved their meals.
They serve chips and salsa before your meal. They are made in house and are a mix of corn and flour tortillas. Be advised, if you choose the HOT salsa, it actually is pretty darned hot, which I loved.

Probably one of the top 10 Mexican restaurants anywhere in Arizona. In addition to great frijoles, the mark of a fine Mexican restaurant to me is that every sauce is different and lends a totally different taste to the dish it is enhancing. Many Mexican joints have two sauces which end up on everything from burros to enchiladas. J & R has it nailed and guess what? Their beans are excellent, too.

The third factor is always the hot sauce. Well hold your hats because the hot sauce here is superb as well.

J $ R's location has a nice shady grove behind and the old building has character. I'm not too fond of restaurants in shiny metal buildings or old fast food storefronts that have been converted. This location is historic and is a cool venue to have food and make merry.

Jr and Roberta have created the gem of globe & the surrounding area. The green chile chicken enchiladas are the best - bar none. The two types of salsa are a great variety. The mild one has such a unique flavor. You won't find a better person than Roberta. they've been making this food and perfecting it for many decades ... It is incredible. I go out of my way to drive through globe at least once a month to eat there. Cost me about an extra hour on my trip but every bite is worth it.
