The City of Drakesboro

About 15 to 20 Seniors meet monthly for a buffet lunch from Drakesboro/Beechmont area(used to have Hughes Kirk School & Drakesboro School--each 12 yr schools). Most of us knew each other or a relative from the 60's or 70's so we can relate. Mary Gilbert, wonderful 2nd grade teacher to most of us, started the grp. many years ago. Next door is Fire Dept. so if anyone has emergency, our helpers are next door!!! We play bingo, have silent auctions, help non profits n area, enjoy our food, & have speakers for Special Times like Christmas or Veterans Day. A real Plus for Our Hill, Lake, Country Home!!!

Went to "food drive" "hope"day...cause I'm off work today and do not received food stamps...and it's nice to see the community helping those like me that need help..thank you

The water and gas bills are robbing the citizens of this city!!!!! No wonder the city looks like a slum neighborhood, b/c the city council is price gouging everyone and they can't afford to maintain their homes. It's straight up robbery and a civil suit needs to happen. It's very suspicious for the city employees and council to not 'understand how to count change back', not reading the meters correct, not having an actual print out of the receipts, the clerks just handwrite the balance so it's their word against the person paying and no 'proof' of payment.
