Reed Electric

After calling literally every electrician in western Kentucky I could find, only to be told they could not get to the simple job I needed done, I finally gave Reed Electric a call. The experience was great from beginning to end. The woman I initially spoke with over the phone was pleasant and very helpful. She was able to get an electrician out to our Murray duplex within 2 business days. He showed up on time, did a great job and the price ended up being very reasonable. Reed is the only electrician we will be using for future jobs.

Very friendly and reliable company. And the work is excellent.

I called 2 other electrians. 1 never replied to call, the other forgot the appointment 2 times.
When I called Reed, the receptionist was very kind and they were out the next day and the technician was so nice and found the issue very quickly.
They are very affordable and honestly they saved me from a lot of stress by just showing up and being very professional.
I would recommend Reed Electric 1000 percent.

Reed Electric is absolutely the best place. I bought my home a little over a year ago so this was a whole new experience for me! They were very helpful and kept me on the loop with everything that was going on and they were also VERY affordable! I appreciate them so much and will definitely be using them again when the time comes!

Reed Electric Heating and Air is the absolute best contractor I have ever experienced! All employees from the receptionist, manager, owner, and electricians were knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and just pleasant to help with all your needs! Great experience with a top notch company! Tom Reed was easy to contact and quickly came out to assess my problem and give a very reasonable estimate. Was able to schedule my work quickly and coordinated with KU and inspector seamlessly. Alan w/Reed showed up as scheduled and couldn't have been nicer, more professional or knowledgeable. Highly recommend them!!

I like Reed. Their prices are good. So far have had an outlet replaced and now a new light fixture installed in the utility room. Efficient, friendly and just good people. 5 star work!

Electrician was friendly and knowledgeable. He quickly troubleshooter and found and fixed the problem and also gave me a ballpark amount for rewiring my garage. Reasonable prices.

Technician Morgan came to the house and diagnosed the problem with our heater and corrected the problem.Very knowledgeable technician.Had another local company out for same problem last year and diagnosed the problem but did nothing to correct the problem.Reed Electric is very dependable

Repairs took two partial days because of trouble diagnosing the problem and not having the correct wire in his truck. I would still have given a 5 star rating except for paper, plastic, and pieces of wire thrown on the ground and left.

I have struggled whether or not to leave this review, but for people going forward they should have this information. I chose Reed because they have such a high rating. And after my first experience, I would have left a 5 star review, but things went a bit south after that.

My first experience with Reed was amazing. The ladies in the office were SO kind and understanding and worked to get me on the schedule. The electrician showed up, and gave me a quote to fix the issue I had in my new home. I decided to pay out of pocket for their services because my home warranty was taking forever, and I needed my kitchen to be functional. The Reed electricians came out, and rewired my fridge so that it was on it's own circuit, however, the rest of my kitchen was still out of power.

The two electricians went up in the attic and down in the basement and said there is a junction box somewhere that they couldn't locate. They said it was behind a wall and that they'd have to rewire everything or open up the wall to find it. They quoted me $800+ to troubleshoot and fix it. At this point, I decided to wait on my home warranty.

The electricians from Reliable Electric were sent by my home warranty. They started looking around, and they found the junction box in the attic pretty quick. They said they don't know how things in my kitchen ever worked because the junction box was capped off. All they did was reconnect it. They were suspicious of Reed quoting me $800 for this issue. At this point, I felt like someone was lying to me, and I wasn't sure who.

Then I remembered that my friend had gone up into my attic the week before when we were mounting a TV. When she came down, she said she could see the junction box. (Mind you, this isn't a trained electrician, and she knew what she was looking at) She took a picture of it. I had the guys from Reliable Electric take a picture of it as well, and it was the same junction box. They said it was clear that it ran to the appliances in my kitchen.

Needless to say, this has left me feeling uneasy. I want to believe the best in people, and want to believe that there aren't predatory businesses out there that would try to take advantage of me, but I feel this is the case with my experience with Reed.

I gave them three stars because they did a good job. The other electricians even complimented the job they did with the circuit for my fridge. However, I felt there was some motive to take advantage of me after the fact. If you can afford it, I would recommend getting a quote from another electrician before deciding on Reed, to make sure the work is necessary.

Very unprofessional! Had to wait 2 weeks to get a response that they can’t do the job without even quoting or being on site to check the job.
