The Portal Pizzeria

The food was amazing! Went in for pizza and ended up trying quite a few things.
Kid friendly with a bar upstairs.
They do have a gluten free crust however we did not try it today.
If you are ever in town we highly recommend it!

The fried pickles are so good, the triple cheese bread was amazing. And the pizza was good. The cherry coke was amazing.

Our waiter was so sweet, this was my first time ever eating there and the food was great. I only had mozzarella sticks & the cheddar bacon ranch fries but both were delicious. I definitely recommend trying their food. I absolutely loved their cherry coke as well.

This place was amazing staff were very energetic. My waitress was a cutie over all had a great experience they do have an upstairs dinning area. If you looking for an amazing place to dine in for pizza come here 5* star service. Beautiful downtown area. Y'all should do a food challenge

My server was very sweet. The pizza was absolutely delicious! I am not very easily impressed when it comes to pizza so that’s high praise. I wish I lived closer so that I could get this pizza all the time! And I loved the nod to the TV show, “Justified“ in the menu. 😁

I love this place. The food rocks and the staff have such pleasant energy. Come check out the Portal and get some good food and the drinks are tasty.

Everything we ate was Awesome & friendly staff! We had pizza garlic knots & salad. Sorry forgot to take the picture before digging into the Pizza! Lol

The portal was excellent. Pizza was very good and the service staff was top notch. The restaurant was going through renovations on the day we were there but they have an upstairs dining area where we were seated. Still a very good experience.

Best pizza I've ever had, hands down! The smell of the wood burning while were waiting was heavenly. Service was wonderful and quick and the pizza was done fast. They even gave me a to go cup for my tea, and that I loved! Can't wait to go back!!

Their food is divine and the variety is great. I haven't been disappointed yet.

If you are a tourist visiting the Harlan area, you HAVE to stop by the Portal! The food is AMAZING, and so are the drinks! The entire restaurant shows the history of Harlan County and has pictures from the mines and of big historical events! The restaurant is family owned and operated, and they do an amazing job with the place! Make sure to stop here when you are visiting the area!

Finally got a chance to try this place. Great pizza and great staff. I would definitely recommend to any visitors to try them out.

This place probably has the best chicken Alfredo I’ve had in awhile. Really creamy and seasoned well. I make sure to visit at least once while I’m in town now.

Visiting from Indiana. Saw this advertised in our cabin. Pizza were just as we ordered, as one had some specific options requested. Fabulous pizzas! The garlic knots are really good also!

Fun trivia: The prior owner, Mr Avery Markham, had a daddy who was a ‘bacca farmer out in Cynthiana.. Just don’t expect to find Choo-Choo guarding a safe with ten million dollars in it. Raylan approves of the food! Excellent pies!

I am here from Warren Ohio visiting family, I am very impressed. The food was great, the service was excellent, and I have found a new place to eat when I visit. I don't like the parking but the food and service makes up for that. Thanks for taking care of me staff at the portal!!

Absolutely amazing chicken fettuccine alfredo. The sweet tea is perfect and you could not ask for better customer service. Also check out their bar upstairs, great drinks and outstanding service!

This was a cool little place some friends and I visited on a trip into Harlan. The server was friendly and the pizza was really, really good. If I am ever back in town, I'll have to try and stop by again!
