Heard this museum was must see place, so we took a 3 1/2 hour road trip and was not disappointed in the least! The exhibits are phenomenal, the staff was very knowledgeable and pleasantly helpful, the gift shop prices are very reasonable. We are planning to go back the first weekend in June 2024 to a huge mineral show.

I visited this museum in early July with my girlfriend. We are both rock nerds (I'm more so a fossil nerd), and this place blew us both away. I have been all over the country to different rock museums. This one is the best. The owners and staff were very nice and knowledgeable, and their rocks in the museum were priced very generously compared to other shops, at or even below market value. We bought a geode, which can be seen below. The owner even gave me a handful of blastoid fossils for free when I said I had never found any before! My only (minor) complaint is that some of the vertebrate fossils were mislabeled! I believe the small aquatic reptiles were in fact nothosaurs - not aquatic dinosaurs as the label says.

This museum contains a valuable collection of fluorite and other minerals from this area. It also has specimens from around the world. The staff gives an informative tour. They are knowledgeable and kind. I was knocked over by their fluorescent and transparent exhibits. Prices on rocks and gifts are better than reasonable. If you are in the area, you must stop in. The experience is worth it!

It is an absolutely amazing place with a unique history . If.i could go every day i would. so many unique specimens and so many awesome stones to purchase in the gift shop and the prices are SO cheap not kidding. This is a place to visit as a crystal collector or a rock hound.

This museum is awesome! Minerals from all over the world which are nature made diamond shapes, to glow in the dark, to spiked shaped, and everything in between or anything you can imagine like a meteor, fossils and drill core rocks. History of mining operations with all kinds of instruments on display and many pictures. This place is SO much bigger than I would have imagined. The guide we had was a retired surveyor and he was very knowledgeable, which made everything so much more interesting. One of the best things about this museum is most things are out in the open and it's hands on, they incourage you to touch and feel most of the items. Then for an extra small fee, you can go outside in what looks like gravel piles and look for minerals, fossils and anything else you can find. A child with her grandmother found fossils and different minerals in the piles while we were there. It was all so amazing. If you're a rock hound or anything else you will really enjoy this museum and it's sad that it's really not better known as a place to visit. I've posted only a few of my favorite pictures, there's so much more to see.

I can't actually describe how amazing this place is! The staff is the best I've witnessed in a long time: gracious, warm, knowledgeable, funny. Prices in the gift shop are extremely reasonable, but the museum is INCREDIBLE! If u are into rocks and crystals, it's a must see! If I could give more stars, I would.

Fantastic experience! The curator was extremely nice and helpful. Extremely happy they sell a WIDE variety of mineral specimens! Bought a beautiful Iridescent Hematite at an amazing price. As someone who buys minerals often I can say for sure these prices and the best you can find. Give this place all of the money and specimens you can find!
