My daughter and I are giving 5 stars, because The Royal Inn and Suites was there when we needed them last night. We really don’t have any complaints, the water in the shower did indeed not get Hot, however the coldness woke me right up. And I needed that! The owner was super nice and polite! My real only complaint was there was No Coffee.

Beds are hard and uncomfortable but other than that nothing really to complain about, was an okay experience

We came to stay here the brochure looked nice well it was false. The rooms are horrible, heat don't work, bedding was dirty, no coffee pot like it showed, there remodeling and it's right down nasty. It's a slum go elsewhere anywhere is better than this plus they want to charge an arm and leg. Not me not ever again. A tent will be better to stay in.

I would give 0 stars if I could. Not only is the place itself worn down and way overpriced but the owner is so rude and not at all suited for the hospitality industry. Told my husband he could not smoke a cigarette OUTSIDE our room and pointed his finger in my husband's face in a threatening manner when simply asked his reasoning as the rooms are all non smoking as well. Do not expect to be accommodated either if you need anything. The TV wouldn't work and shower wouldn't drain at 11 o'clock at night. I rang the service desk and was told to "go to bed". Lets just say you're better off asking for a free nights stay at the county jail cuz youll be taking a chance on going there anyways if you cannot tolerate such attitude from this unreasonable man, its probably more sanitary and they at least serve breakfast the morning after your stay!

I travel for a living so stay in dozens of hotels each year. My business was in Marion, so I wanted to stay close. BAD mistake. The owner of the hotel was very kind. Being suspicious of the condition of the motel (which was the only one in town) I asked to see a room before committing to stay. She showed me the room. It was clean and very outdated. Noticing the old fixtures in the bathroom I asked if the hot water worked. I was assured it did. I foolishly told the women I'd stay for the night, then asked how much. She charged me $96 for one night.

The bed was lumpy, the internet didn't work, and there was hot water, but it took five minutes to come. I had to turn the water off to the toilet because it would have run all night if I didn't. I'd say it was more like a $40/night hotel. I've stayed at MUCH nicer hotels, that served breakfast and had indoor pools and exercise rooms for $55/night. Total rip off. I have no idea how these people are still in business. Do yourself a favor and drive to Eddyville to get a nice hotel at a better price.

I actually stayed there with my family when I was 10 or so; the TVs had no reception, save for one channel, and even THAT didn't come in that well! The "manager's office" was a trailer (like a mobile home) that was parked on the property to the left of the motel.
The "ice machine" was a chest freezer in front of the "manager's office" and you had to pay if you wanted ice from it!
The "manager" had two Rottweilers chained up outside and the locks on the room doors didn't lock.
I shut my eyes tight with a heavy object backed up against the door and prayed both for morning and that I wouldn't be hacked up into tiny bits!

Twice the price and half as nice.

This place was 96 dollars and a total crap hole. The room smelled like mothballs and they had no hot water. I stopped here at 3 in the afternoon and I was going to be charged an extra 5 dollars for checking in too early. There were no other people staying there and all other lodging in the area were filled up.

If you have the option, do not stay at this place, it is an extreme rip-off.

I was on a motorcycle trip to Ohio and got caught in a lightning storm, I had to stop. This was my only choice.
The manager was nice, but nothing else was
Terrible room.
Smelled aweful, windows taped shut, no refrigerator, A/C did not work.
$30 room they charged $90.
Complete ripoff but since it's the only place in town, they can charge what they want.
Avoid this place if you can, my 1 star ☆ is too much, they should have a -4☆

ATTENTION CYCLISTS BIKING ACROSS AMERICA! - DO NOT STAY HERE

My 70 year old grandpa and I are biking cross country and this is the only place to stay in Marion. It is the crappiest motel I've ever stayed in and it is $90 a night. If you do stay here, don't expect much to work and get out of there as fast as you can. Try to work your trail schedule around it.

This place is horrible. My mother and aunt had to stay while their apartment was being remodeled for almost 2 months and I'm not going to say no names but I don't know how this place is still in business being ran by the dude that runs it.
