Kentucky Hillbilly BBQ

Made a detour to have lunch here and it was so worth it. The Brisket sandwich and some potato salad. Oh my gosh. This sandwich is so good can stand not to have sauce on it. A very big sandwich served here in a time when others have gone smaller. Very very glad we came here. Sure hope to return.

I drove 4 hours to experience this place.
The ribs just melt in your mouth.

We needed a quick stop but wanted to try the local flavor. This was a great option. There are many delicious BBQ options as well as tasty home style sides that are served up quickly. There are a few picnic tables outside but many folks were doing a pick up to carry out. The service is friendly. It was fun chatting with other travelers waiting in line to order. Note: Cash only. The Marathon just up the road has an ATM.

The BBQ ham sandwich was truly excellent! So was the slice of sawdust pie I forgot about and didn't have until I got to my destination in Pennsylvania. I will be back here for lunch on my westward return ASAP.

Stop in this place on the way to Nashville. The food is absolutely delicious and the prices are even better. If your ever in Kentucky go check them out. You won't regret it.

Some of the best bbq I’ve had. The beans and potato salad are also amazing. If I lived in the area, I would be eating here every day. I paid 12 bucks for ribs, pulled pork, baked beans, and potato salad. Bring cash or check. No cards accepted.

This is no lie some of the best BBQ I have ever had.
My favorite was the brisket.
Very fresh, just the right smoke. Their sauce is outstanding, nice spice, just a little heat, and I had to ask them because I tasted some apple.. they hand make the sauce and add some apple cider to it..
Clever and delicious!!! You have to try it to understand what I mean. Very unique.
The two young ladies who work there are very sweet, and do their best to make sure you're happy.
They truly take pride in their food.
And the prices are great..
The place has a stay business.
Just a tiny place in the side of the road, and I loved it!! No inside seating, but a couple of tables outside.
Most people were getting to go.
If I head back that way I'm stopping again, no doubt in my mind!!

Been driving for year’s tru this road and never stop to eat until today, wow what I, have been missing, eat a half serving of their BBQ ribs platter with coleslaw and home made baked beans 😋 now will definitely make this place a must stop from now on, when I, drive tru here, oh prices are very affordable, 👍

There’s ample Truck parking on both sides of the road plus a portable restroom and a big trash can 🗑 so if you stop and eat please keep the area clean which is tv monitored,.

Excellent brisket that had a wonderful smokey, beefy flavor, was tender, and juicy! The smoked baloney was good also. Was on the run and forgot to get pics of the food.

Highway institution just over the KY State line. Excellent bbq and the potato salad, baked beans, and coleslaw are all equally good. Just $2 more if you want all three. You might wait a few minutes as it is usually busy, but that’s just because it’s so good! The wait will be outside under cover but otherwise in the elements. We rarely pass without stopping

I stop here every time I go thru, great sandwiches and friendly service with a smile. Prices are always reasonable and quantity is worth it.

A great place to get a sandwich or 3 lb to go. Moist and tender...mouthwatering !. Love the brisket. Ham is awesome. Always busy but there is always plenty of staff.

Five stars for food and service. The ribs are the best I've ever had. Ever. And the lady at the order window is so friendly.

No place to dine inside. We didn't realize that until we arrived. Fortunately, there are some picnic tables where we enjoyed the ribs and potato salad. They must have some magic ingredient, but the potato salad was superb.

Best ribs I've ever put in my mouth! Brisket sandwiches are off the hook! Chicken is fall-off-the-bone tender and delicious! Pork loin is tender and juicy! Sides are absolutely AMAZING! This place makes us so happy, we stop every time we drive by! Gotta have cash though! 5 star all the way!!!

I stumbled across this place on a recent drive and was very impressed. I got the pulled pork sandwich, chips, and a Pepsi for about $7.
The outdoor seating adds to the charm.

Very, I mean very good BBQ.
Only drawback is you need to pee before arriving. After driving from Nashville I needed to pee badly. Had to go "out back" between two stacks of firewood overlooking a Gulley. Wasn't worried about the snakes as much as I hoped they don't use this firewood to smoke the BBQ as I'd just peed on it.

It was the best taste of brisket I have had in a long time.
