WIC - Health Department Women, Infants, and Children

I had benefits that were just taken away as of today because of a "missed" appointment..... When they were the ones who missed it. The office is closed from hurricane damage, so everything is over the phone. I took two hours off work for this appointment and called the office and was told everything was over the phone now, and I would get a call from the office which would be my appointment. This was 5 minutes before the scheduled appointment. 20 minutes passed and no phone call - so I called again and was told they were running behind and would call me when they are ready. That call NEVER came. Fast forward a couple days - I got a text to call the office because I missed my appointment. I called and was waiting in line for hours with no change in my position in line. Called again and the man receptionist told me they were out of the office due to being sick. He took down a message for me and said he would pass it along to the WIC department and I would get a call within a couple days from them. That call never came either. And now all my benefits are gone. This is absolutely ridiculous and sad that they are doing this to mothers in need. My son arrives within the next month and I needed these benefits to help with the cost of maternity leave.... now I have zero benefits for something they did wrong.

I am so upset today my appointment was at 1:30 I'm sitting here at 2:15 with my baby still have yet to be seen , why make an appointment for a certain time to have me sitting here then the lady tell me reschedule if I'm in a rush like clearly my appointment was at 1 30 so why am I still sitting in the waiting room 45 mins later And I will be back I hope so see this problem fixed
