Sun Viking Lodge

Desiree at the front desk was awesome. She advised me of all the available activities. She explained how the room keys worked ( wristband ). I especially like that there's no hotel room key or card to carry and lose. The wristband stays on your arm and makes it easy to go swimming and come back to your room without having to fumble in your pockets for the key. Desiree answered all my questions, seemed to instinctively know what I was going to ask, and was friendly to boot.
I stayed in the old motor Lodge portion of the resort. While the outside is a bit dated the rooms were painted and clean. Our room did have a little musty smell at first like it had been closed up but quickly aired out once we opened the door and and turned on the air conditioning.
Everything worked fine we had no issues during our stay. The heated indoor pool next door was wonderful. The pool was clean even the tiles on at the top where immaculate. That's not true of other pools in the area which typically have scum on the tiles around the top of the pools where the drains are ( Best Western , Perry's, etc). It has a waterfall pouring into the pool. There's also a small hot tub outside.
Plenty of lovely views indoors and out. Lots of vegetation around the pool area and outside on the sun deck. The outdoor pool was still closed due to prior storm damage. I look forward to see what they do when they fix and renovate it.
Easy beach access but be advised that you have to use stairs to access the beach, but that's true of most hotels in the area. You have the option to drive and park on the beach during the day.
I had a pleasant stay and would stay here again. I used to stay at Perry's Oceanside, but no more... this is my new favorite place.
I highly recommend it especially if you're a nostalgia buff who's been coming to Daytona for decades. It's been updated some but there's still touches of the past that can be seen.
My only regret is that I could only stay one day.

Absolutely love this place. Very clean, staff is so friendly & helpful, even after your stay you still have access to all the hotel fun; Pool, hot tub, game room etc. All around just a great place to stay. Anytime I have a chance I always book here.

Extremely happy with our stay. The nice man in the lobby checked us in and gave us a special. The indoor pool was really clean and a fun environment. The room was clean and comfortable. We will definitely come back. Had a wonderful visit.

I needed a nice, quiet yet good place to stay while visiting friends, and that's exactly what I got. The staff were nice, the rooms were cozy, and the place looked and felt great even just after inclement weather. Very impressive and worth the price.

Stayed there for 1 night during Bike Week and it was great. The young man at front desk was super nice and made us feel welcome.
The room was very clean and location is great, right on the beach.

Our favorite place to stay in Daytona. We have been probably a dozen times over the last 6 or 7 years and it was always a family friendly environment. Definitely reccomend

I can't say enough good stuff about this hotel! They really make you feel like you matter here! First of all they greet you so kindly and are thorough about everything at check in and offer coupons for things which I love! Then instead of key cards they have arm bands that are so hassle free. They offer rooms with a kitchen and two beds that I got for a awesome price and their is beach assess. The rooms are also cleaned very nicely. I had to go to the front desk multiple times because I needed to borrow a broom for a mess my daughter made and they were always so polite to me. The guy working even noticed I was bringing in a pack n play and gave me a bag with a pack n play sheet for my daughter. This place is amazing and ill be back here when we come yearly. I've stayed in 5 star hotels that didn't make me feel like they have. 💗

Loved all the employees. Everyone was very nice. Had a great little place to eat by the pool. There was a really sweet lady that did games and crafts. Very nice family place. The only con is the rooms could use an update. Overall a great place to stay.

Very clean hotel. Always flexible. Never had any issues. We booked a family suite and when we arrived they did not have that room available and gave us two queen rooms side by side for the same price. The second visit was over the Labor day holiday. We had a few guest who came to spend the day with us and they allowed on site parking and entry into the pool with us without question.

Always like staying there. To bad the out door.pool got damage and it's not up and running yet. But i.heard it will be soon

This place was exactly what we were looking for in a hotel. The price was right and the beach access was usable and clean. The room was also very clean and tidy. They were still in the process of fixing the outdoor pool, but I do not feel that it took away from our experience. I feel like the people that own/run this place really love what they do. We will definitely look to this place for future Daytona visits.

I stayed here multiple times and love it every time. The heated pool is my favorite. I loved where it's located in Daytona Beach shores. The rooms are clean and the staff is attentive.

This place was wonderful- an older accommodation but still wonderful, well priced, well staffed, quick service, CLEAN rooms with great amenities. Loved the full kitchen and it was incredibly well stocked. We cooked our entire Passover dinner in the room with their dishes and utensils and didn't have to ask for any thing extra. The beds were comfy and they had comfy pillows. The room was stocked with extra blankets and we had full control of the hear or AC. They seemed to have a lot of kid centric activities and the water slide was awesome! Loved the warmer indoor pool as well. Also, they have a great little mini pool for Didn't see any bugs or anything nasty the whole time we were there. Impressed and would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is a little dated. It has definitely had some updates though. It is clean which is the most important thing. It has an indoor pool and outdoor jacuzzi. The outdoor pool and waterslide are under repair from the hurricane. It has Cornhole and Shuffleboard to play as well.
The location is nice and it has great views of the beach. We will be back.

I could not be happier with my stay here. Everything from the rooms to the service is fantastic. Ron...the security guard is amazing. Very nice and willing to go the extra mile. If you get a chance...stay here ...you won't regret it!

The Sun Viking is awesome! We have stayed here for the past 8 yrs and enjoy it every time! The staff is extremely friendly and always willing to help with whatever you need. Super place to stay if you are headed to Daytona!

I cannot say enough good things about the Sun Viking Lodge - IT IS A FAMILY RESORT .....ON PURPOSE.

They really cater to families and take it seriously. Your family will be very comfortable and entertained here. We love the Daytona area for a lot of reasons, have been coming here as a family for more than 20 years, and have stayed at many hotels here... and we will never stay anywhere else.

I was blown away by how friendly they were when I called to make my reservation, I was blown away by the price, and then I was completely blown away by the facility.

This is not a Marriott, but it sure does feel like home. It also feels like 'Old Daytona" when it was all mom and pop hotels and places.

We had a suite on the 4th floor, ocean view. It was incredible.

The rooms are clean, some things show a little age, but nothing that is prohibitive or even inconvenient.

The indoor pool was great, it has lots of open air feel to it, and gives a break from the sun. The outdoor pool is still out of commission like every other outdoor pool along the beach from the hurricane . The beach access is restored and incredible as well.

The beach side VIKING KAFE is GREAT VALUE FOR YOUR MONEY. Big potions, great food, and VERY FRIENDLY staff. (pics attached)

Our kids just played on the beach, in the pool and chased lizards for several days while we all relaxed. It was a great time, I have zero complaints. My son Billy can't wait to get back to his 'beach house/ pool house' as he calls it.

THE STAFF was incredible all the way around. Our of their way friendly, the Cafe staff was really great, the grounds guys and everyone were all VERY FRIENDLY and willing to help anyway they can. It's rare to find good customer service these days, but this was a cut about, it was GREAT customer service.

Great service. Clean room. amazing view. Fun Tiki hut for snacks. Beach access. Heated indoor pool and covered hot tub. Many other hotels in the area have not yet recovered from the last hurricane and the outdoor pool has not quite reopened but it looks to have been well repaired. Would definitely return.

First time being to the beach got my oceanfront view that I wanted even though it was gloomy, cloudy ⛅ 😕 and rainy 🌧 the view was still amazing 💯. 👏 Tai the front desk clerk was funny and very helpful. My son liked him so much he even gave him a tip for all his help to us. You get complimentary beach towels give to you for staying in this motel it does have an outdoor and an indoor pool but the outdoor pool was recently damaged from the recent storms it had so it was getting the construction done to it but the indoor pool was still awesome my son had a ball in the pool so we were ok without the outdoor pool. I would stay again for sure if I ever get the chance to come back to Florida. We had the 2 queen size beds. It has its own small personal kitchen with a fridge stove and a sink make sure you do your dishes before leaving 😉 the bracelet that you see in one of the pictures is actually your key to your room you can wear it in water makes it better instead of having to keep up with a card key loved it here 💯🙂🙏 THANK YOU FOR MY GREAT STAY HERE!!!!

Treated myself and my kids to a last-minute Mother’s Day getaway and was welcomed with open arms from the moment we stepped foot inside the front office. Everyone was very kind, friendly and accommodating, but when Ms. Vee walked in, it changed the whole experience. She was over the top with joy and positivity, welcomed my kids like they were her own, and she had crafted and delivered me some mimosas, all right there in the front lobby! She had tons of fun activities for my kids to do throughout the stay, they still ask about going back to see her when were in the area. Ms. Vee is such an asset to this facility; we’ll be back to see her once the outdoor pool reopens!
