Great local restaurant with a nice selection of dishes, deserts, and drinks including beer and wine. Located in the old bank building the atmosphere is small town cozy. Food was good. We had the daily special steak and Swiss with sweet potatoes fries, Southern Berger, onion rings and a grilled cheese. Staff is friendly and efficient. We were even surprised with a sample of a a freshly made delicious blueberry crumble cake.

I ate here for lunch with a friend. We were greeted when we entered the restaurant. The staff was very friendly and the selection of food was great! The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated. The food was delicious! I had a grilled chicken salad. The ingredients were fresh and the chicken was seasoned and cooked well. I'd definitely recommend eating at Buffalo Cafe, it was a great experience!

We were an unexpected large party and they were so kind and amazing. The pimento cheese sandwich tasted just like the ones at grandma’s. Thank you for the hospitality!

If you haven't been to Buffalo Cafe, you're missing out on some of the best bistro like cuisine. I had the chilli slaw all beef hot dogs and they were out of this world! I'll definitely be back for more!

Great little cafe with delicious food in Jimmy Carter's hometown. Cool story of the building too... used to be an old bank and the vault is now their dry storage!

I love this place. Good food in a great setting. Always filled with locals. I live the taco salad with Fritos. Sandwiches are substantial. Splurge on a brownie!

Had a wonderful lunch here. Service was great. They now have 2 tables out front for real outdoor dining. We were able to finish before the storms came in!

Limited choices for food in Plains, but we took a chance. It was mid week and we went around 6 pm. We were the only ones in the place. Order at the counter and have a seat, then they bring your food. My daughter had chicken fingers and fries, my husband had BBQ and tater tots. Both came with coleslaw. I ordered a hamburgers and fries. My burger was one of the best I’ve ever had! It was big and had the freshest bun. They don’t skimp on the portions here. Prices are average. We spent about $30 on dinner.Another couple came in and they told stories about President Carter and visiting with him. After we left we saw lots of folks coming for dinner. Apparently they eat later here! You can drive to Americus for more options, but if Buffalo is open, I would recommend you stay on Main Street.

Found ourselves in Plains accidentally. (My wife missed a turn to the south many miles back).
What a treat for us.
It was lunchtime so we ate at the Buffalo Cafe at the Old Bank.
Service was outstanding food was fresh and excellent. The unsweetened tea a treat for my wife and the coffee was very good.
