Pleasing temperatures today made for a delightful visit especially with Ethel in the general store! She was very knowledgeable and gracious with her time and attention. This hidden gem of a historic community is the best kept secret in the area. Thank you for keeping history alive.

Another long overdue review. Visited a few months ago. It was charming, a recreation of history. They do different events throughout the year so check their schedule.

What an amazing place!! All the interpreters we talked to were so kind and patient. Ms. Ethel at the general store was a stand out! What an incredibly educated, kind, and patient lady. She answered all our questions no matter how silly or nuanced. The building are gorgeous and very well maintained. You can absolutely tell that this is a facility that is run with a lot of care and heart. 10/10 would recommend, and next time we visit Georgia we are for sure stopping by again.

Great interpreters! They readily shared information. Ethel, at the general store, was so patient with our 5 year old and made the information easy for her to understand. We enjoyed our experience and had a great time.

We had an amazing experience. All staff are very kind and friendly but we have to mention Ms. Effel, don't know if I spelled it correctly but she is the attendant at the General Store. She is one of the sweetest person we ever met. So kind and very knowledgeable about the history of the general store. A place to visit again.

We had a great field trip. We took 36 special needs students to see what it was like long long ago. The staff was very helpful and patient with our crew. They were mindful of students who don't like loud noises. They made sure those that needed to touch as well as see things were able to do so at the same time protecting the things that didn't need to be touched. They took time for our crew to understand what they were talking about. One of our best field trips to date. We will be going again next year.

Spent a good 4 hours as the only visitors wandering around today. Its a nice little town with plans on expanding even further. All the employees were wonderful to be around and informative on the history of the town. Every building we toured was wheelchair accessible

A great experience. We were able to tour historic buildings. All buildings were handicapped accessible. They were filled with authentic pieces of history. There is a path to go down to reach the “town”, but they did have golf carts available if one needed assistance to go down. The volunteers were very informative, and very friendly. They were well studied on the history of the homes and the area. Highly recommend.

I don't work here so I think I can honestly say this. Stop expecting Disney world out of Westerville. If that's what you want spend $4000 dollars and go to Florida. Stop complaining about the grass. In the time they are trying to show you, a sling blade, sickle, or live stock was used to mow the grass. They don't take in enough to pay people to use a sling blade and you're going to complain about the mess live stock leave behind. If you think they charge to much, drive down any brick road in Georgia and you will see History. But don't blame anyone if you get car jacked. Westerville is a safe place to see History. As far as staff, it's a hit or miss if they are going to have the staffing the day you go. So don't judge them by the first visit. Last note, It's not Six Flags of Georgia either. It's about History.

It's like walking back in the nineteenth century. Would definitely recommend checking this place out. The Singer boat shop and house, court room, general store are very well maintained. They have done a great job preserving the history!

We visited a couple days ago from Omaha, NE. We enjoyed the visit tremendously. But I have give props to the Lady in the General Store. She has a passion for her job. Such a good story teller. She totally made our visit. Thank you so much for what you do. We can't wait until we can visit again, and bring our Grandchildren with us.

Harvest Day Nov. 2 was a lot of fun. There were plenty of interpreters on hand and that made the visit so much fun. Since relocation, there have been some improvements; updated restrooms, handicap ramps, and more items are hands-on making it a lot of fun for all. Great outing for kids & adults alike. My husband & I had a good time.

WOW! I had not been here since they moved it from Westville, GA to Columbus, but I am so impressed. Glad to have this in Columbus now. It is way down at the southern most tip of Columbus (any farther and you are on Fort Benning), but the trip was well worth it. I would definitely recommend this. Many people exhibiting the trades from the time, but the Blacksmith was my favorite!

Every since ot was in Lumpkin it has been a childhood staple. I volunteered there when i was in high school with Ms. Bobbie doing quilts. The buildings are much closer now. Every interpreter there is kind will answer your questions. The black smith is a favorite spot. The store is filled with all kinds of homemade items from the village. The Columbus location is coming along nicely and once they add the gingerbread back it will be 6 stars!

Historically fascinating to walk through. Some buildings have volunteers in time period dress that discuss the history and function of their building. Westville moved recently from Lumpkin so they are still working on it.

Amazing. All of the craftspeople interacted with our kids and showed them how to use the tools. The rest of the people were great at explaining their periods and trades. Definitely worth it
