Top notch service from the Cleveland County Register of Deeds. All staff members were extremely pleasant and helpful. My fiance and I were recently in to purchase our marriage license. The staff could not have been more attentive and helpful. They made certain everything was correct and that all of our questions were answered. As someone who has worked in the legal field for many years, and has been to countless ROD and Clerk of Court Office over that time, I have to say this was the most pleasant experience I have had. Keep up the good work Cleveland County. Also shout out to the officer at the front desk very friendly and helpful.

My wife and I came in today and were greeted right away by a very friendly lady who sent us back to Hon. Betsy S. Harnage who very promptly got to work on our papers. She was so very helpful and sweet. By the time we left she had Everything we needed signed and recorded!! Great job Betsy. Thank you to you and all the ladies in your office! 5 🌟

I just want to say that with everything going on you do not know what Counties are doing. I called ROD and Ms. Betsy answered she was pleasant to deal with and very helpful. She helped me get in contact with a completely different office than what she worked in. Thank you for all you are doing in these trying time. A small act of kindness goes a long way.

I was going on a cruise and took my birth certificate from the hospital not one from the courthouse, so therefore I was not going to be allowed to board the ship and I had 6 other girls waiting on me. It was a Saturday and Betsy was on her way to a wedding but she took the time to listen to my ordeal and she spoke to the gentleman @ Carnival and they agreed she could fax over my birth certificate on Monday. Betsy took the time to do that on Monday but couldn't get it to go through so she kept trying over and over until finally she faxed it to the ship itself! As soon as I got home I went to see her and pay my fees as well as get me a TRUE birth certificate!! She was awesome and everyone in the office were sweethearts! Thank you so much Betsy for going above and beyond for a total stranger!!!

We needed to get a copy of a birth certificate for a grandchild and did not initially have all the information we needed. But they were extremely helpful in suggesting different ways that we could get the required documentation without having go back home an hour's drive away and to return. Three different people assisted us including the Register of Deeds, Betsy Harnage. Thanks for going the extra mile to assist us.

I was doing some last minute packing for a cruise. When I went to get my birth certificate from the place I had it stored, it wasn’t there and no where to be found. In a panic, I contacted Betsy Harnage and told her my situation. Without hesitation she got my birth certificate for me and might I add it was her day off. Betsy is awesome and was definitely a blessing. Thank you so much for all you do!

Great group of people who represent Cleveland County in the friendliest and most approachable way possible. I work with them every week of the year and it makes my job run smoothly when working with staff that is fast, experienced and reliable.

The team in the Cleveland County Register of Deeds office was very helpful and courteous. I had questions about land deeds, and birth and death certificates, and the staff helped answer everything I needed I know to conduct searches on family history. I went to the Register of Deeds in Cleveland County to try and find my grandmother's marriage license and birth certificate. Regina, Robin, Susan, and the Honorable Betsy Harnage were beyond helpful. They found my grandmother's birth certificate in Gaston County, after making the initiative to call them, after they could not find the record in their office. They also found her marriage license in Wake County after they asked if my grandfather was a student. Thanks to their quick thinking and knowledge I was able to locate the documents I needed in a timely manner!

So glad to have a local option for passports. Made an appointment, went early. Folks in charge welcomed me, answered question, took photo, and 2 weeks later had passport. Good job Betsy Harnage and your entire staff!

Was alerted to unauthorized inquiry about property. The staff was very helpful in identifying problem. The alert system worked as stated. We are blessed to have the CCRD in good hands!

One of the most organized, well-run, ROD's in the state of North Carolina, if not the best! The staff is friendly, extremely helpful, often going above and beyond what one would typically (or has experienced!) in other ROD's around the state, to assist researchers and county residents! A researcher's paradise!

Thank you to the ladies in the office. It was difficult to find the new owner of a property when the heir had not recorded a deed after they inherited the property. But with their expertise, I was given the information that I needed to complete a work assignment. Thanks!
