Woodstream Hardwoods has been buying wholesale imported lumber and slabs for many years from the fine folks at World Timber. Matt always has gone the extra mile for us and has very interesting stories about procuring exotic ,rare Hardwoods. World Timbers selection is incredible at very good prices.

The folks at world timber are awesome! It's unusual for a distribution facility like this to work with a small time woodworker like myself, but they were happy to fill an order for me, and even hand picked consistent board widths for my project. Definitely call in an order, they have a huge selection and really good prices!

I've been dealing with this company since the beginning, when it was Joe and Eddie working out of a warehouse in PA. It is a very rare to be able to say that over the course of several decades (and two generations) dealing with a company, that I have never been disappointed with a transaction, but I can say that about World Timber.

To start with, they simply have the best selection of outstanding woods- slabs and lumber-out there, and at the best prices. My decades long career building special pieces from special lumber would not have been possible without them.

The personal attention given to orders is un-matched, from selecting the lumber for a particular special project, to arranging the most economical shipping option. If you are looking for something that is on their lumber list, but it is maybe not special (e.g., curly maple with weak figure) they will describe the wood rather than ship something that would disappoint. This personal attention is all the more appreciated given that I am a retail customer, and the company is basically a wholesale enterprise. Having lived in Virginia, Florida, and now in Arkansas, I have never either met Matt, Stacey, or Mike or seen their operation in Hubert, NC, but I feel as though I know them.

I'm prompted to take the time to write this review due to my most recent order. Semi-retired now at 74 yrs old, I wanted something special for a piece I have designed for my daughter. Mike filled the order after I explained to him what I was looking for, and I am currently building a desk out of the most spectacular quarter-sawn shedua I have ever seen. Of course I am delighted, but the key here is I am not surprised.

This place is a timber wholesaler. If you keep that in mind as a hobbyist woodworker (like me), you're going to be pleased.

You need to make an appointment. They're a wholesaler, so that ought to be expected. Many wholesalers won't even make time for hobbyist woodworkers, so just work with them. Also, lumber is measured (quarters and board feet), and it'll be easier if you understand this. Maybe show up with a lumber rule if you can't do the multiplication in your head quickly.

If you're a lumber yard veteran, you're going to be thrilled with the prices. Domestic is about average, but exotics prices are really impressive. I can't see myself getting ebony, mahogany, or slabs anywhere else.

All involved, Matt, Stacy. Mike and or Bryan are great to work with. WTC is on the east coast and I am on the west coast. They pull and ship what I need and not what they want. Very knowledgable and fare to deal with. They have a customer for life

So on vacation at Emerald Isle last Spring and stumbled upon these guys. I’ve never worked with exotics before and these folks were awesome. They worked with my price range for 2 slabs, guided me through several species choices, and even cut the slabs for me so I could get them home. I turned out a gorgeous table for our son and bench for my sister. Our next beach vacation, I’m heading back. So many wood choices... so little time, lol! Thanks Matt.

My dad has been a customer for many years when I accompanied him to pick up some lumber. I enjoyed meeting all the staff, along with the owners and they were very helpful. I'm looking forward to going back.
