The Old Plantation Restaurant

We loved this place! The chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak were amazing! The baked potato was perfectly cooked and soft. The dinner rolls were soft and perfectly buttery, served with whipped cinnamon butter. I absolutely love fried okra and theirs is top notch. The restaurant also has a very intriguing history. We signed the book as we left also. We will definitely be returning!

Fried catfish was great. Very crispy and flavorful breading. Fries were crispy and had a great seasoning. Mushrooms were also really good. The 4 for food was only because the chicken fried chicken was overcooked. Great service in a historical building.

Wow. First, I will start with the technical parts. Not complex cooking, but home cooking that is well prepared and good tasting. The service was the star - well attended, friendly staff, over abundant sizes, reasonable pricing. Being a historic building in a vacation town helps make this place a gem in a great escape area. The bread is a must-have along with the cinnamon, honey, and brown sugar whipped butter. We dared an appetizer and although it said 1lb, that must have been the weight of the plate because I know I came out 2lbs heavier and that was shared between 5 people.

Our dinner was great today. Chicken fried steak was very , mashed potatoes were great and came with a large side salad. Hot rolls were very good too!! Our service and waitress was very good also. We've went back several more times and steak was cooked to order and very good!! Wife loved the coconut shrimp and fried mushrooms were great!!! This place continues to be my favorite place to eat.

For starters, this was my first time going to Medicine Park and it's a cool little area and not what I was expecting. The area has a nice vibe to it and I will have to come back when I have more time to hang out.

To keep this review short and simple... we loved everything we had here. We got friend green tomatoes for an appetizer. It was a nice starter and they were nicely seasoned and crispy. For our meals, I had a medium-rare ribeye steak, loaded baked potato, fried okra, and a side salad (not pictured). My friend got a Salmon salad with a raspberry vinaigrette. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The steak was cooked to perfection and had a very nice flavor to it. Everything came out as ordered and was nice and hot. I absolutely recommend stopping my this establishment if you're looking for a good meal, I will definitely be back.

I have not had anything here that is not outstanding!! The service is amazing, the atmosphere is incredible! Jennifer is always great, but we have never had poor service! We always stop a few times when we are in town, you should too!

I can not throughly explain how much I love this place!!! The food is always so good, drinks are stiff and delicious. Im big on steaks and oh man are they amazing, in the mood for salmon? Best salmon I've ever had in Oklahoma!! There was an hour wait as it was a Friday night but the staff hustled hard to make everyone's dinning experience perfect and we still got everything we ordered in a timely matter and exactly the way we ordered. Its a must stop spot for sure!!

So the apple pie and peach cobbler both come with ice cream, and it was so savory and so good!🤤 They were warm, and the crusts were buttery.

My FIL ordered grilled shrimp and a baked potato. The shrimp were large, succulent, and grilled to perfection. We also had the equivalent of the 'blooming onion' and it was a perfect bloom. It came with two dipping sauces that was a nice finishing touch.

Especially on the weekends, this restaurant and this whole area get very busy. We were able to be seated pretty quickly for dinner at 5pm on a Saturday. Right after us, it got packed and there would have been quite a wait despite the size of this place.
The service was great despite our party size of 8 and it getting very busy.
The business makes the place a bit buzzy. But, it's a country restaurant and local favorite, so it is what it is.
The chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken are good standard dishes.

My family and I went there. Very lovely place. I love the history and how they have kept it. When we got there there were only a couple of tables occupied but when we left it was full.
The staff was on point with there greeting to the asking our orders to us leaving. Our waitress was very nice, friendly and attentive.
The food was great everyone loved the food they ordered. We all had to share because everything looked and smelled great.

We had a great lunch last week. The chicken tenders and crispy chicken salad were great. The chicken was homemade, not frozen and had a great flavor. The grilled chicken sandwich was fresh and good, the bread was so soft and the chicken had great flavor. The catfish sandwich was crispy and tasted great.

After leaving a very angry review about the waitress there, I was so angry for over 2 hours about how we were treated, but I have decided to delete my previous review. The restaurant overall was fantastic and I would definitely return, I would just ask to sit in someone else's section. I can't imagine she would still have her job by the time I make my way back out there.

The name of the place threw me off a little but never judge a book by the title! This place exceeded expectations! Small 20 min wait time to be seated which is understandable on a Saturday. It appeared to be pretty busy but as fast as our drinks and food came out you’d think it wasn’t busy at all. Food was delicious, hot and seasoned well. My picky toddler was happy too so that’s a plus. Our server, Rachael B., was very attentive with us and all her other tables. You could tell she was a hard worker and kept a cheery smile and upbeat personality. Will definitely be back!

It's been over 20 years since I've been back to medicine park. Had a very nice lunch with friends at Old Plantation. Got big country friend chicken, so delicious.

This was probably the best brunch we had in a while. When we entered, we were told it'd be a 15m wait, but we were seated within 5.

Our server was very polite and was checking in frequently. My recommendation would be to definitely go with the country fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans / fried okra. The chicken was really tender and the potatoes were rustic and really the best. Portion sizes are huge.

Their bread rolls and cinnamon butter (with pancake syrup) would beat Texas Roadhouse any day.

Best cooking I had tried in a while. The rolls with the cinnamon butter were the highlight, but food was great. It was 5 of us and we all devoured our food. Waitress was rude and kind of ruined the vibe, but we still enjoyed the meal. We even tried to go back the next day, but they were closed. Recommended if you want to try good home-cooked meal.

Best catfish I've ever had. Husband loved the chicken fried steak sandwich. Such a cozy atmosphere. Steven was our server and he was exceptional.

We left this historic restaurant very satisfied. Arrived hungry and had to wait a little bit…but the price was good for the big portions of flavorful foods! The atmosphere was comfortable, our server was so attentive and kind! She took care of us just as well as we saw her caring for her other tables!

I wish I had ordered 2 salad. It was great. My chicken was hot and crispy. My okra was crispy. Needed to cook the roue before adding it to the Mac and cheese but it was creamy

Nice restaurant in the middle of town right across from the river. The bread and cinnamon butter are awesome when served hot. We ordered the salmon topped salad with balsamic vinaigrette, beef tips with Mac and cheese & loaded mashed potatoes, and plank salmon with okra & loaded baked potato. To finish we ordered a blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Being a tourist restaurant I thought it would be just ok but everything was great. We would definitely go back to stuff our faces again.
