Elmer Thomas Park

If you are looking for somewhere to take your kids for Christmas lights this park has a wonderful light drive thru show. Also other fun things to do, ice skating rink, carriage rides, food trucks, much more. It's free for the drive thru lights with the option of donating. Not the best pictures but we were driving and had to keep going.

Nice playground and splash pad for the kids. A walking trail and small lake with plenty of ducks and geese to keep them entertained. We love coming out here and spending time together as a family.

Our first time to Oklahoma and to this park. We loved the lights and the park had something for us all! A place to walk a place to play and the lights! The park is huge and was informative!

My new favorite park in the whole world and I don't live here. My partner and I were visiting from out of town and decided to go visit this park.

The first visit was an after dinner stroll in the evening. We figured it would be well lit but it appeared the lights were not all working. It seemed sporadic and like many of them needed some light bulbs replaced. We noticed holes in the ground but couldn't figure out what animal could make that kind of hole.

Fast forward to the next day when we visited the Great Plains Museum which is next to the park. The holes mystery was immediately solved. EVERYWHERE, and I do mean every where were prairie dogs. Squeeeeeee!!! They are sooo adorable and fun to watch!

We came back the next morning to have our coffee and sit watching the prairie dog doing their thing. This was the highlight of my trip to Lawton. If you live here or are visiting You should visit here. What a great experience. I would visit all the time if I lived here. Love this park!

I enjoy visiting this park. It has a great route for walking, jogging, or running. I believe there is also a dirt bike trail. Lots of frisbee golf. A nice pond with ducks, geese, and other aquatic birds. There are several photo spots from a garden to memorials for soldiers. The Museum of the Great Plains is next door and there is plenty to do. A big tent was up tonight but no signage. I wasn’t sure what the event was.

Once I parked my car and completed a lap, I did about a mile and a half route. A good park for Lawton.

The park was full. Everyone seemed to be relaxing. It was still a peaceful experience.

It was great for the kids. They loved watching the geese. I enjoy reading the story walk to them as they rode their bikes.

From Tampa Florida up for my son's graduation from Basic training. Only in town for a couple days but spent the majority of our time at this park. They have a Great walking loop. People are friendly and the wildlife is a definite attraction, as we have lots of video of the prairie dogs.

Visited during the holiday lights display multiple times! Beautiful displays, very clean environment. Good food and hot cocoa from the vendors! Had an ice skating ring for families.

During the summer they have a really fun splash pad across from a huge playground surrounded by adorable prairie dogs. We are frequently making trips with our 3 children ranging 3 to 7 years old

Nicest park in Lawton, always upgrading it. Now if they would just put in a covered band shell and invite the local high school bands to play on a weekend or so every month during Apr, May, Aug, Sept, Oct, Nov during the late afternoon.
Put in Tesla charging Superchargers and use the proceeds to fund park, community improvements.

Enjoy this park, really great for trail walking, fishing, and kid play. I've been going to this park for years. It is always where they do the lights here every year and various other events. I love the trails 👣 and love seeing the prairie dogs. You can take your animals here for walks, and it has added a kids' playground for children.

Awesome place! Nice place to bring the family for a day of free fun in the sun! Feed the ducks at the lake, let the kids enjoy the huge playground, check out the old military tank or let the kids jump in the splash pad or take a nice bike ride with the family. Very nice! Glad to see all the improvements that have made over the years. I grew up here and have moved away. It was so nice to see all the improvements they have made over the years.

Had a great time with the kiddos here today! We sat in one of the picnic areas and ate then played in the huge park! Definitely the best park in Lawton! Child friendly and plenty of room to run around!

This park is sure not big in size, but it sure is a really beautiful hangout place for families, it welcomes birds as well as ducks and geese it's definitely a must see

Nice park. Plenty of open space . Has an 18 disc golf course that is challenging. Has fishing in lake. Trails to walk.

Great place to go for a walk while in the area. The playground for children looks super fun for many ages. It was pretty packed while my mom and I walked the dog. There are many Prarie dogs, they are so cute so be careful when driving. It adds a super fun touch to the experience when going
