This is the last, northern parking lot of the IAT (Ice Age Trail) - Mecan River Segment. I'd recommend this to be your ending point, but our group continued north and followed the Connecting Route to IAT - Greenwood segment and ended there.

Memorial Day hike with many fawns bleeding for their moms. Lovely lupine flowers and beautiful view of the Mecan springs. Maintained beyond expectations

Pleasant trail, runnable even in the dark with the leave down in the fall. Had fun on this stretch of the Ice Age

Great trail overlooking the Mecan. Found tons of herbs, asparagus, and more berries than I thought possible -- even a Mulberry tree.

This is one of several conveniently located parking spots along the IAT: Megan River segment. It is not the northern trailhead for the segment.

This is a somewhat small level lot for the Ice Age Trail. There’s no prohibiting signs. It’s not very suitable for a rig longer than about 35’ or so. Turning around will be rather tight and difficult, backing out of the lot is blind to the East due to trees. Backing in is suggested. It’s rather quiet and not a busy road.

The 1200mi Ice Age Trail has many parking areas along it most don’t have prohibiting signs. Many of the trail areas and state land areas are open to hunting so be cautious from about Sept1 through Jan 1st or so.
Another Parking area south at 6th Ln and Chicago GPS– 44.058302, -89.485688
Trail Lot North on Cty B near Cty C with a bit with more room for larger rigs at GPS– 44.11837, -89.44521

Just to the south is Coloma and a Mobil, BP Truckstop, Dollar General, Subway and Red Hill Cafe great for breakfast. Propane is also available in Coloma at Kershners Propane but call for availability. The campground on the South end of Coloma on CH also may be able to fill tanks.

AT&T Internet isn’t great here and seems inconsistent speed tests. 5-8Mb Down and 3Mb up

Lost a star due to: The Rain, too many “hunting” signs, long tree branches were on the trail
