Willowhaven Park

A delightful, peaceful and clean environment. There were healthy trees, bushes, flowers, unique butterflies, pond water, decks, walking trail, benches, picnic spots, kiddy park, and no crowd. A discovery! I even saw a beautiful stork. It was a treat on a sunny summer day.
The nature center was welcoming. The staff was friendly and activities for children and adults were laid out in a fun learning environment.

We come here for the Dog Park. It’s very “clean” and well kept. It seems as though all of the other patrons follow the rules and make the experience is great for everyone. There’s some room for improvement, but it would be petty suggestions. It’s really a fantastic place for our area. The park paths are in good condition, and it’s all very scenic. The bathrooms outside the nature center are amazing for a park, and the staff inside the nature center are exceptionally helpful and nice.

We had a very nice day!! The Fall Colors are so beautiful right now. The trails are nice and the dog park area too.

This facility is a hidden treasure for peace and quiet, with a country feel. Going there brings back childhood memories of living on the farm.
The County or City that keeps this facility as clean as it is. My hats off to you. There are new playgrounds for the kids to play. 2 large dog parks, clean walking paths. This facility is a perfect place to relax and let nature absorb all your stress.

Beautiful , quiet, local, nature area to walk, or just bring the kids. Have a nature center that is nice for the kids. Also dog friendly, which is wonderful and come here often to exercise, walk the dog and enjoy the peaceful enviorment. NIce pond and path that circles it.

Frequently visit here for the dog park. In order to get in your must have an annual membership which you can get from the Willowhaven Office. The park is very clean and all the dog owners pick up after their dogs. If there is a lot of rain prepare for the grounds to be flooded, but it will dry out within a few days usually. Would be nice if they included some water features in the dog park for the dogs to be able to swim and cool down in the summer heat.

Wonderful prairie park with a walking trail, pond, playground, nature center, disc golf, dog park, workout stations, and more. They have various happenings at the main building throughout the year.

This is an excellent educational place to have in the community. They do great educational presentations. No cost to c9me in this building. Craft projects available as well.

What a wonderful hidden gem! Cute little nature center and a lovely walking path. It is 1.1 miles around the loop, so ideal for a quick stretch of the legs! If you want more walking time, just go around again! Cute little pond, with catch and release fishing.. ideal setting to bring small children to play at the playground, learn how to fish, or teach them to enjoy the beauty of nature!

I've been there 3 times and each time it was beautiful, peaceful, had no garbage on the ground, and was overall clean considering you're in nature. There is a place to use the restroom, and the trails don't allow you to get lost. Plenty of wildlife, and beautiful scenery

This is an all seasons park to visit! It has a sweet nature center, cute playground, the disc golf course is great, nice decks to enjoy the pond and a large and small loop tracks which I love, a great place to do some cross country skiing and snow shoeing. They also do events and if I was getting married, I would do it here. They made an outdoor rock seating area in a half circle which would be beautiful for an outdoor wedding if allowed. Oh and they have a nice new dog park too!

Beautiful little park and nature center next to a double pond with a paved walking track on the small one and a gravel path around the larger.

A beautiful pavillion, well maintained trails around scenic ponds, and a small nature center with numerous exhibits make this park worth the trip. Its isolation is part of the charm: aside from the occasional train, all you hear are the sounds of nature. There is a dog park and a playground for family excursions, too.

I visit this park and nature center very often with my child. There are trails around the ponds where you can walk, run, and bike. They have 3 fishing piers that are brand new and brand new playground just built this summer as well as a new dog park! Frisbee golf and a small outdoor exercise area were recently installed as well. The nature center is very fun and have intelligent staff working there who are great with children. Many events go on here that can be found and registered for on the bourbonnais park district website. Keep up the awesome work! Visitors - keep the park clean for fellow nature lovers!

A great place for a quiet little picnic with the family. Always go on off hours so I have not been inside the nature center but the little park and walking trail around the pond are very nice. A very large dog park at the front of the property as well.

It's super cute! I love all the things this park has to offer. The exhibits, the gym equipment, the trails, it's beautiful.

If you want to take a walk outside where it is nice a quit then this is the place. Paved walking trails, places to sit and relax. Went on one of the coldest of the year 20 degrees and had a great walk. Trees we all frosted and beautiful early in in the morning.
