Unassuming little store on the shore of Sebago Lake. Stopped for a quick breakfast and sat on the back deck. Wasn’t expecting much but was so surprised by the huge plate of food that was brought out! Delicious ham and cheese omelet with perfectly deep fried potato bites with 2 thick slices of homemade wheat toast. And the bakery goods looked amazing. Will be back!!

Terrific! The service was great, the portions were huge, the quality was the best I've seen (the steak & chz in particular). Definitely recommend.

If you like a big ol’ sammich this is your place! Been meaning to stop by for years after hearing how good it was from coworkers and finally did today, glad I did! Ordered the super steak and a side of chicken fingers and I’ll be eating for days. The sandwich was not only the biggest I’ve ever seen but the steak was fresh sliced, thick, and juicy. Peppers and onions cooked perfectly and the sub roll was delicious, tasted like it was homemade.I could only eat half it was so loaded, they don’t skimp here that’s for sure! Chicken fingers were also a huge portion and fried nicely. The fella running the place was great and they have all sorts of neat stuff for sale in the store as well. Glad I finally stopped by, I’ll definitely be back!

Great old fashioned general store. Tasty sandwiches. Huge chicken fingers platter. One order is enough for 4 people! Whoopie pies are some of the best in Maine. Always good! Beach your boat and run in! Worth a stop

Loveee this place. They have such good food. Pizza is huge Italians are huge steak and cheese is huge! My boyfriend and I like getting a chicken finger plate to share cause you get so much food. Definitely a little hidden gem

The chicken tender basket is out of this world. The chicken is really good quality and nice and crispy. Highly recommended.

Literally my favorite convenience/takeout/candy/toy store ever! I've been coming here every summer since I was a little kid. Back when I was little I really loved the huge selection of eclectic items candy and toys he still caries. Joe is a really nice guy and makes some really great food. My favorite things are their pizza and their Breakfasts, and the best part... The portions are huge! If you're on the lake this is the #1 place to go 🙂

I was sticker shocked for the price of food from a little general store, but when I got it home, EVERYTHING was HUMONGOUS and delicious! Well worth the prices! I will say I paid similar prices at places in Cornish, but was VERY disappointed with almost all the places there this year.
Would definitely order here again. Plus they were VERY busy, but were efficient and pleasant. Thank you guys!

The cheese steak subs are out of this world. Deliciously satisfying with probably a pound of meat on it. Wicked good and definitely recommended. The cold cut subs are equally satisfying. The prices are high but worth it for the quality and quantity!!!

What a great little place. This is not your little general store. True it has the basic things you need to make tuna salad, etc. if you are camping next door or in the cottages across the lake and it does have a little of everything. But it has a menu of freshly made food and pastries like you can't even imagine. Has a nice owner to go with it too.

Nice people cool selection of things and the sub I got was absolutely amazing. That bacon was unforgettable!

Gemmes is Awesome! Joe makes Huge portions, you can often eat twice on one sandwich! Plus, he has the coolest stuff in the store.

I’ve been coming to Sebago Lake for decades. Every year Gema’s becomes a special highlight for my young kids and I. We’ve made Saturday morning breakfast not only a tradition but an experience we look forward too.

The food is excellent, the experience is one of a kind, and the owner is inspiring. Joe is one of the hardest working guys I’ve come In contact with. So much so that I’ve turned him into a teaching tool for my middle school age kids.

The gentleman working the kitchen does it the old school way! The best takeout, huge portions and homemade! The store area is well stocked with all the essentials too.

As far as regular merchandise, like chips or drinks etc, it's a little pricey when compared to say Walmart or one of the bigger stores, but not anything you wouldn't expect from a mom and pop store "in the middle of nowhere". But I tell you what....the food? You're not going to find anything better. It might "look" pricey just from seeing a menu. But my lord. The portions you get for the price, are un-freaking-real.... the chicken cordon bleu is always our go-to, and let me tell you, if you can finish the whole thing in one sitting, you're a freaking champ. I'm lucky if I can even get through a quarter of it. I got a steak and cheese the other night, just to change it up - not even thinking about the portion sizes.... 😳 I was starving when I got it.... less than 3 bites in and I was stuuuuffffeeddddd. My boyfriend is one that can finish the cordon bleu in one sitting and even he said that we could take 1 half of the steak and cheese and split it between the 2 of us and be good. Flavor wise? Everything is bomb. All their bread is home made by the owner, each morning. All their pastries are made by them, most of them being the size of a child's face, if not bigger. I mean, honestly, you really can't go wrong with these guys, especially with food. And the owner himself is super friendly. For a little "hole in the wall" kinda place, you really can't go wrong here. And to the guy complaining about the price of the breakfast sandwiches? Where else are you going to get a sandwich of that size, for 6 bucks?? 🤨 nowhere I know of, that's for sure! But either way, totally check this place out, definitely a hidden gem 😊

Whenever I come up here, it's a must stop! Whoopee pies big as wheels! Lol Had a GIANT slice of pizza, filled me like a sub! All their food is AWESOME!

Gemmes is one of the jems of Southern Maine. Hungry or not, we stop for a slice of pizza and a pastry, or two :) The owner is the absolute best.
