Northeast Pellets actually cost a bit more than other pellets in our store, but I buy them anyway. I get the same heat from them, but there seems to be less ash and they seem to produce an ash which is less dense which vacuums out more easily. Other pellets seem to produce an ash which forms into a type of porous rock in the burn pot. That rock requires a light amount of banging to break it apart and it sometimes clogs my vacuum hose. With Northeast Pellets that has not happened to me one time this season. Northeast Pellets produce great heat and light ash which is easy to clean. It's everything I want from my pellets.

As with any manufacturer quality can tend to vary a little because of environmental factors beyond their control and availability of quality raw materials. Overall Northeast Pellets does it's best to provide a consistent quality product at an affordable price. I've used different manufacturers in the past and have found these pellets to perform as well as any others as a whole. If not satisfied with the product bring a sample back and explain your issues with it. You have nothing to lose and maybe surprised at how eager they'll be to satisfy any manufacturer defects.

Love the pellets. They burn well in our stove!

When we purchased our home it had a log burning furnace downstairs. As a disabled veteran it was time consuming and hard to keep that stove at temperature (Nov-15 Dec). We purchased a pellet furnace and have thus far burned 2 tons of Northeast pellets and one ton of a competitors pellets this winter (15 Dec - 4 Feb). We will get our 3rd ton of Northeast pellets (NEP) in 4 days (4 Feb).

The competitors pellets had a lot more ash and fines per ton and resulted in 2X a day cleaning of the stove and 2X a week cleaning of the chimney pipe and area around. With NEP we clean the stove once in the morning to empty the overflow area and a simple taping of the stove pipe to clear the lose ash and a bi weekly cleaning of the actual stove, hopper and chimney pipe and area around.

Because we screen our pellets before going in the stove I can tell you exactly how much waste we have per ton in fines. The competitor was over 50 lbs of fines in the ton we purchased and with NEP we are under 30 lbs of fines per ton on the 2 tons we have bought. I have both bags from NEP and they are about 1/2 full of fines. If you do not screen your pellets before they go into the stove hopper, you should as it cuts down on jams and increases performance by allowing just pellets to go into the stove.

Stove settings (Low to High) with NEP to maintain 67*:
1 = 2.50 lbs/hr (above 50* during the day the stove is off)
2 = 3.63 lbs/hr (50* - 60*)
3 = 4.75 lbs/hr (40* - 50*)
4 = 5.88 lbs/hr (30* - 40*)
5 = 7.00 lbs/hr (20* - 30*)
5 = 8.50 lbs/hr (Under 20*)
With the competitor's pellets we were running our stove on high at 11.00 lbs/hr with an outside temp under 20*F. With NEP we run on high at 8.50 lbs/hr and we can maintain the house at 67* with an outside temp down to 20*F. Once it gets colder than 20*F, I turn the pellet rate up to 8..50 lbs/hr..

With NEP we have averaged about 3.0 bags per day or 18 days on one ton of pellets. If you are doing the math, it doesn't work because it doesn't account for turning the stove off on the warmer days during the day.

Bottom line, NEP are the best pellets we have tried. Many people have given us their opinions on other brands and the amount they burn per day of those brands so we have not even tried them.

These are great pellets. They really helped a lot this winter because I have a pellet boiler and this is my main source of heat. I use between 3 to 5 bags per day. These saved me a lot of money and the btu's they produce are excellent.
Happily I am able to continue to purchase this excellent product at Walmart in Palmyra ME.

Great workers, they put a lot of effort into providing heat for the surrounding counties. The superintendent of the plant is very nice and respectful!

Worked there for one day. I liked my job, but my body could not handle the energy level needed for the job.
