Newport Big Stop Restaurant

75 dollars fuel gets you a really great free shower. Restaurant has very good food and friendly servers. Plenty of truck parking. We'll definitely stop again.

Great value. Food's not bad. Service is excellent. Homemade pies and pastries up front. Grab one on your way out! We ate here a few times over our 4-week stay. One of the best places to eat in the little town of Newport.

Nothing fancy. Just a surprising hidden gem.

Have eaten here twice now and food and service and top notch. The facilities are clean and modern, bathrooms are spectacular and very clean.

The first time we ate here, we decided to stop in for dinner after running errands in the area, and our expectations were not high. We both had seafood and were not disappointed ! Surprisingly, the Big Stop has some of the best seafood I have ever had. The fish and chips are second, only to that which I've had in England. We have had breakfast here a few times and are always satisfied. I am a pescatarian, so usually have to ask for no meat and they never have a problem accommodating. This is a great spot to dine, especially if you don't want to deal with driving to Bangor and also if you don't want to spend a lot. The prices are extremely reasonable and the service is always good.
Now, this is our go to place for weekend breakfast and sometimes for 'date night'

This place is great!! Tasty food, large variety, friendly staff, quick service. And a boatload of desserts to choose from: eclairs, pies, cakes, etc.

Excellent experience. Me and my wife are truck drivers and decided to park here for the night. Showers are 5 star. Clean towels and the store had everything we needed including beer. I'll definitely come here again..

Very warm and friendly Atmosphere. Showers great with nice towels at a great price. Wonderful stop for over the road drive with nice and big comfortable leather chairs to relax and take a cat nap. Food tasted great, not the same style due to new management but taste differently just as good in a different way.

Would be great as a stop before going to vacation destinations.

Passing through! I'm glad I chose to eat here! My burger was good! Very Fresh vegetables & fries were clean! No oil. Crispy just like I ask & a really good milk shake to top it off! 👍

Parking lot has room for about 30 trucks. Clearance on the fuel island 14' h × 14'w. Easy in and out for an oversized load. No humps to hang you up.

The food was great. I had the seafood platter and had to leave food on the plate. Waitresses were pleasant and attentive. The restaurant manager came out to ask how I liked everything and made me feel like he honestly wanted to know.

I haven't tried the showers, but the restrooms were spotless. Great place.

This is my favorite truck stop in Maine and always look forward in getting back there as often as possible. Most everyone that works here seems real nice and helpful. The food is real good and moderately priced. They recently installed new showers and are real nice In closing, thank you Irving for investing the money in modernizing the showers, much appreciated.

They have supper friendly staff.
And massive amounts of food!! My husband and I went there on our vacation and we couldn't finish all the food they gave us... We have to get carry boxes. Very good prices for the amount of food you get too. Definitely try them out :)

Good comfort food by the interstate.

I absolutely love this store / restaurant. They have a lot to select from within the store front such as pizza slices to go, fountain soda, chips, alcoholic beverages and cooler drinks. The restaurant side provides amazing customer service, well maintained tables, floors, overall 5 star rating on cleanliness, customer service and food. I do however wish they would add something new to the menu here an there. I'd personally like to see deep fried shrimp. I ordered a really nice hamburger meal and absolutely loved the meal. The atmosphere overall was very nice. If you end up in Newport, Maine anytime soon and are looking for something other than fast food than I really do recommend Irvings Big Stop Resturant.

Never had a bad meal here yet and I eat here a lot. Favorite place for all day breakfast! Fast service and friendly staff. Good prices and free wifi! They also have gluten free bread.

Service was slower than usual, with a few minor errors in the 7 orders we placed. The wait staff did a good job providing replacement for incorrect orders, and even replaced a deep fried chicken meal that my mother in law could not eat.

Excellent service. Wish there was more room for trucks to park. Overall store, restaurant, trucker's lounge, washroom and parking clean and tidy. I wish those Orving Big Stop restaurant had better/more option of healthy non-process food in restaurant and to go.

I was so excited to see an Irving Restaurant still existed! I used to go to the one in Fairfield and Searsport. Very nostalgic to me.
Love the great prices. The salad bar looked good. Our waitress was nice. I was excited to get POUTINE!

I went there for the first time last night there was a big group of us and the waitress was great!!! The ppl in there were nice and the food was to die for like seriously I fell in love!!! Definitely will be going back next time we're in or around there!!!! I wish they had one closer to me so we could go more often!!!

My first visit last night since March 1 and it felt so good to see the friendly gals and have a warm, hearty meal on my commute back to Portland. Looks like Big Stop has adapted well to the rules and I will be back
