In the top three best places to eat in the fox valley. For the quality of food and the flavors that are absolutely amazing to the only cost effective restaurant at this caliber it just takes the top spot. The best barbecue flavors I have ever had. The owner and chef are one in the same. Which is very evident. Nice job.

I've passed this restaurant hundreds of times and never stopped. That was definitely a mistake. Intimate atmosphere, extensive menu choices, and outstanding food quality make this restaurant a standout. Highly recommend trying the steak and ribs for fantastic value. The avacodo appetizer is a must! Polite and knowledgeable staff enhance the experience.

We were driving through Appleton Wisconsin and were looking for a place for lunch. We saw a place called Wilders Bistro on a restaurant guide and thought it was a cool name, so we decided to stop there for lunch. When we walked in, the place was spacious and decorated with an Italian architecture along with a nice large bar attached when i walked around and took some pictures.
We were seated by very nice hostes. As we talked to our waitress, she gave us a couple of her favorites to try. I tried the Smoked Salmon Blt, and my son tried Aunt Ida's Mississippi Mac. As far as our waitresses' recommendations, they were both amazing. The salmon was flakey and moist with one of the most amazing flavors I have ever tried. The bun, sauce, and the thick, crispy bacon were amazing accents. I chose the mac & cheese as my side, and I was not disappointed. It was delicious. Now, to my son's choice, Aunt Ida's Mississippi Mac. It was a nice portion of Mac and cheese topped with a generous portion of pulled pork. As for a side, he had baked beans, and I got to eat them, and they were good also. All in all, this stop turned out to be a spectacular experience with some amazing food and a 5 star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review from me and my son.

This was our 1st visit here and the half rack of ribs was spectacular. So much to eat we had to take the rest home. The Cole slaw was delicious as the Mac and cheese.
The staff were great, the place was clean. Chef Ramsey would be impressed if he ate there. This is worth its cost in meat. Great job at the restaurant!!!

My wife had a lunch meeting here this week and raved about how good the food was, so we had to go for lunch today. She wasn't wrong. The food was amazing. I usually dont have a hard time deciding what I want off a menu, but on this menu, everything looked good. I had the Quesa Big 'Dilla (love the name). It was everything I would expect out of a quesadilla burger. So flavorful. I had sweet potato tots as my side that were really good. My wife had the Smoked Salmon BLT (waiters recommendation), and let me tell you, this thing was PACKED with flavor. There is so much more I want to try on this menu. We will be back for sure.

Had the evening with my wife and youngest child and decided it was time to pay Chef T a visit here again, it’s honestly been way too long. We were greeted immediately with friendly smiling staff, it reminds me of going to a family’s home. Everyone is so warm and welcoming. We snagged a few appetizers (Mac and cheese bites and stuffed mushrooms) everything’s homemade, fresh, hot, delicious. I’ve known T for many years, and he’s never sacrificed quality , ever. Liz ordered a beer from Wilders great local craft list! Our server was very knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. Our dirty dishes were hauled away promptly, and our drinks were never low for long. I was so happy to see the smoked meat selection has been added in with all of my favorites. I had to get the brisket, ribs, andouille combo with cornbread and some sides. Brisket A+ , juicy, smoky, incredibly tender. No sauce necessary. The ribs were the extra meaty kind of baby backs, and also incredibly smoky flavorful juicy and tender. Andouille? Get out of town. It was awesome, and I don’t see andouille a whole lot on menus. Smoky with a bit of spice and exploding with flavor. The cornbread was moist and came with melted honey butter. It’s like Chef read my mind on exactly how I like to eat my food. Anyway, the portion sizes are generous and I cannot say enough good things about dining here in all aspects! I’m not sure I want to eat anywhere else in town anymore. Every time I come here it’s incredible, and every time I come here it’s better than the last. Well done chef!

Service was great, restaurant was nice and clean, food was delicious! I'd come back if I visit Appleton again. Even some menu items that seemed a bit strange were amazing. They know what they are doing here. Thanks again!

We had the pleasure of dining in at Mr. Wilder’s establishment and it was by far the best accidental find we have come across while living here. This business is black owned, and the owner and executive chef. Mr. Wilder was so kind and helpful. The wait staff was extremely friendly and attentive, and we lucked up and got the entire restaurant to ourselves for a much needed parent night out. I cannot believe we have lived here for several years and are just now finding out about this wonderful gem! We cannot wait to return, if you have not come here please do you and your appetite, a favor, and go. The portions are phenomenal, and it offered so much more than what we were expecting. We cannot wait to return and see Mr. Wilder and his amazing staff.

The Nunley’s

The food was delicious! The shrimp and grits with black-eyed peas and cornbread was very flavorful. The chicken 'n dumplins and chicken and sausage gumbo hit the spot!!!

First timers here. Best calamari we’ve had! My husband says top five favorite place to get the appetizer from. The pieces were large, not chewy so I was surprised by the reviews on how the calamari was for others. I ordered the Bella sandwich. It was delicious. The citrus dressing was good too on my salad. My husband really liked the lobster mac. There were large pieces of lobster in it and a generous amount at that. My son loved the wings. Such a hidden gem. So happy my husband stumbled upon them. We will definitely be coming back to try the prime rib special!

The service was good. I think the servers name was Eli, he was very informative and knowledgeable about the menu and had opinions on different menu options.
The food was top notch. Dare i say these are the best chicken wings I’ve ever had, highly recommend. The Wilders burger in the pic was extremely good and also a top three I’ve ever had. Its hard to believe this can have two of my top ratings but it definitely did.
Prices are really really hard to beat. The food did take a little while but i am okay with that as i could tell why it did in the quality of food i was served. Keep doing what your doing Wilder’s Ill be back and bringing more friends with next time.

No complaints. At all. The food was absolutely amazing! The service was amazing, you can thank our server Matthew for that. The atmosphere was definitely welcoming! Will be coming back for sure. Recommended for anybody and everybody! Had an appetizer, entree, and desert and can say it did not put a hudge whole in our pockets. Will be asking for Matthew again when I go next time.

Pulled pork and ribs are excellent. Meet is perfectly seasoned and flavorful without need for covering in BBQ sauce. Chef’s expertise comes through to taste the meat and not a thick sweet sauce…something you don’t get to experience in most restaurants. The black eyed peas were wonderful! Service was excellent to top off fantastic meal.

Always good food at Wilders! Tried the house salad and cornbread this time. All very good. I've enjoyed their Friday fish fry, chicha roll, burgers, fish tacos, and the shrimp and grits. I've never been disappointed. The stuffed mushroom appetizer and fried avocado are also a must! The service is friendly, and I've always found it to be a great place to bring someone to have a conversation. It's never been loud when I've been here and the atmosphere is very calming.

I went here on a Thursday & got the Mahi tacos. They were FANTASTIC. So fantastic that my husband & I returned two days later on Saturday! I got salmon BLT & we split a BBQ Pork Eggroll that was on special..let me tell you, I could have returned again two days later! The menu is huge, has incredible variety & the service has been excellent every time. It’s been a while that I’ve found a spot that I just want to recommend to everyone..but this is definitely now that spot!

I have eaten here twice and have gotten food Togo. This is hidden gym. It's never busy from what I can see. The food has been nothing but fantastic every time. Thank you for the excellent food and service.

Update, went back tonight and had Eann for our waiter and he was very polite, attentive and made our experience very joyfully. Food was great!!! Can't get enough of this place.

Liked it a lot, I just need to slow down on giving 5*s away. But I'm give them a 5 anyway...

Such a pleasant experience! The menu is robust with so many great options. It was truly hard to pick. Everything we ordered had great flavor and picture perfect! Jen aka boss lady was absolutely amazing. She helped us navigate the options and was kind, funny, and attentive. Definitely will come back. 😊

Visiting from out-of-town and I would eat here all the time if I were local. Food was amazing and service was great. They were even super with my over-tired toddler.
