Stony Ridge Resort & Cafe

We went as a family with the grandkids and had an absolutely wonderful meal. Great service and the best burgers in the northland. The restaurant overlooks the lake and has seating around the fireplace when the fireplace is needed or outdoor seating. It is owned by a wonderful couple that takes great pride in their work.

Excellent meal on a winter Saturday night. Staff was warm & welcoming. We had the traditional walleye dinner and both the fish & the chips were exceptional! Also enjoyed the sweet chili wings! Slightly expensive but the food was great. Beautiful rustic atmosphere overlooking the lake. We’ll be back!

My husband and I had a great experience at the Cafe! Fantastic burgers with a really unique selection. The atmosphere is rustic and comfortable, and the outdoor seating had a nice view of the lake. This definitely became our new favorite spot to eat in Ely! I highly recommend.

Great view of the lake from outside- love the porch under the trees overlooking the lake. Waitress was a local w advice on great places to hike or visit. Also had these amazing watermelon daiquiris ( and other flavors to mix n match) 😋 yum! So many different varieties of 🍔 burgers!! I got the blue heron w blue cheese and fancy jam.

The food was incredible!! Four pages of the menu dedicated to burgers! Opt for the homemade fries with your burger...so yummy! And try the Ridge Chata to sip as you sit in the outdoor dining area waiting for your burgers to arrive.

They have a great menu of things to try. This place is located off Shagawa Lake. Nice place away from town but not too far away. The hamburgers we had were great. Onion rings and fries for the side item.

Fantastic food! HUGE selection of large burgers. There is also a couple of food challenges if your up to it. Great mixed drinks. The fries are great,however, the homemade chips are the bomb!!! They were pretty busy when we went and had about a 10 min wait to be seated but definitely worth the wait!

My husband’s favorite place to eat burgers at! Always awesome food. Huge variety of burgers to choose from. So delicious! Ate overlooking Shagawa Lake.

Excellent food well prepared. Many great choices on the menu. Come hungry because the portions are large. The indoor ambiance is great. In the summer sit outside and enjoy the lake views. Service is excellent.

We just ate at the restaurant, which overlooks the lake. Good views, the restaurant is decorated really nice. Outdoor and indoor seating. Good was really good, specializing in burgers. Most everything ranges about $20 a person, but the are options to split burgers or get the wimpy sizes which are still over a quarter pound. Staff was friendly.

We didn’t stay at the resort but stopped to eat. Our server Tucker was gracious and accommodating. My burger was amazing (got the whimsy size) Raspberry Margarita was refreshing. Sat outside enjoying the view of lake.

Sat in the Fireside room with a nice fire going. Had one Explorer burger and one Fireside burger. Both were excellent! Fries were a little soggy and maybe could have been cooked longer to get crisp. Onion rings were good. The burgers are 14 oz. of ground beef so you won't go hungry. Will definitely go again.

Fantastic burgers (they aren't fibbing you when they say they've got the best burgers in town). Drinks are a bit pricey but dangerously delicious. Staff are always delightful and the view from every window is absolutely beautiful.

Amazing Burgers! Come try one of their two burger challenges! "The Squatch" is four lbs of beef and one pound of cheese!

We went there for burgers. All I can say is this was the best burger I have ever had. The hard part was trying to decide which burger I wanted! The homemade French fries were fabulous, along with the homemade onion rings. The atmosphere was rustic and very nice. Will definitely be back!

I love this place! Very quaint and wonderful view of the lake. We go here every year we visit Ely! And the food is out of this world amazing!

I have to give THIS a FIVE star.....best burger and breakfast I have ever had bar none. And the service and the cooks are always nice and friendly. Make sure you try the Charlie Burger named after a great Fishing guide. There is nothing to say but good things about this great place to eat there in the ELY, BABBITT area. Have fun with the staff and clear your table when your done they love that. Make it a great day and eat at the Stony Ridge.

As always the best place to eat in Ely. If you can't find a burger at this restaurant, you don't like burgers. No way are you going to leave hungry, the portions are huge. Exceptional wait staff, and everything is made when you order it. They've recently renovated, and this is upscale cabin, welcome to the North woods. And BTW they also make a great breakfast.

Great food and atmosphere! Large portions and wonderful service. We were seated right away and were able to sit right by the wall of windows so we could admire the lake and the trees. Plenty of knotty pine and and interesting decor. We will certainly go there again soon.

Delicious burgers on hearty buns along with tasty fries and chips that were more like a chewy fried potato. Great burger topping choices. Premium product well worth the premium prices.
