Petrock's Wine, Liquors and Beer

They are so far ahead of the other stores in customer service. Look at this video. All of those little snippets of reviewer’s comments are laminated and posted up to help us decide which bottle to buy. Amazing. Thank you for those. So neat and organized too.

I don’t know about you, but any additional information helps when I’m selecting a bottle to bring home for dinner with my wife. At Petrock’s, I take a picture of the laminated review, memorize it on my drive home, and then “review it” as we are drinking it. 🫵

And ..at least for me, it shows that someone over at Petrock’s really cares. Some of the best wines for sale in the Somerset County area are at Petrock’s. Better than Wegmans.

Went here to get a gift for an office white elephant. Im not a drinker myself but it seems to have a great selection. Got a sourland mountain reserve bluberry and honey vodka, as i thought it sounded unique while also supporting a local business. If you live in the area id look into their stuff

Friendly 60+ years owned Family Liquor store. Staffing is very pleasant, helpgul and knowledgeable.

Petrock's carries the only drinkable brand of gluten-free beer, so I have shopped multiple times, and every staff member has been very helpful and friendly. I have a cervical disc requiring surgery, and the amount of weight I can lift is minimal. Of course, this is unknown to the staff, and they have no idea how much it helps when they ask if I need assistance.

Only a couple more days until the next purchase.

I've lived in Hillsborough for 25 years. Have tried others in the past, but Petrock's has been my exclusive liquor store for a long time. They have the whole package. Competitive prices, educated, experienced staff, quick friendly service, easy in-and-out parking. If a line forms, someone is on the mic and it's all hands on deck (including owner Nick) and everyone is out in minutes. Great selection of beer, wine, bourbon, tequila. Very impressive operation.

Selection is excellent.
Every area of the world is well represented in the varieties of wine and the price ranges. The wines are well laid out in the store so you can easily find a particular bottle or you can try new vineyards.
The beer selection is also expansive whether domestic, imported or craft. And again the prices are very good.
As for spirits, everything is available and if it's not, you can request it and invariably, they will get it for you. Their prices are very competitive.
The staff, whether it's Deb, Frank or any of the workers are extremely knowledgeable about their stock and very helpful with recommendations. They also have a Loyalty program available.
Once the pandemic is over we are looking forward to participating in one of their wine dinners and also grabbing a meal again in their Bar and Grille.
We live over 40 minutes away, and have many liquor stores close to our home, but since reading about the store and visiting the first time, it is our adult beverage house of choice.

I live in NY and in the area visiting family today 9/7/20. We used to always go to the competition across the street until they wouldn't let my pregnant wife use the restroom on our last visit. Tried Petrocks today and will always stop here from now on. Friendly staff. Great selection. Prices seem decent on the items we were looking for.

Great whiskey and scotch selection... actually... great selection in general! The staff is always polite and friendly and ready to help if you're looking for something. While they can't always beat the prices of Bottle King, they absolutely dominate the selection of hard liquors and whiskies.

Great beer selection with fair pricing. Beer organization is strange. There seems to be one section near the front of the store with local IPA 4-packs at RT. The main beer aisle has 6-packs at RT, but there are extras around the corner on an end cap. Another area with single stout cans/bottles and European stuff at RT, and then one random fridge with single cans of various varieties plus some stuff that isn't on the regular shelves like Maine beer company. Nothing is really labeled. It takes me quite a while to find what I'm looking for when I go here. They do have online inventory and I'm tempted to just order ahead online in the future. I wasn't able to find a couple bottles I was looking for that were supposedly in stock.

Great family-owned resraurant (and liquor store next door). American fare that offers a slightly more gourmet take on classic dishes while serving up their own delectable specialties; moderately upscale prices, nice atmosphere, great bar. You'll probably run into friends from town there.

Very helpful staff. Extremely good selection of wines and craft beers including some hard to find German Hefeweizen and other European beers. The prices are quite reasonalbe. Don't get deceived by the dark wooden panel exterior with American rice beers brand banners. It made me think that the store only sells mainstream stuff like Coors, Miller Light, sweetened wines, hard lemonades, you name it... I frankly passed by the store numerous times, since there are two decent liquor stores within a few hundred yards. This one is definitely the best assorted store and a keeper. And it's family operated - support your local folks!

Great and attentive service. The personnel is educated or learns about brands and products sold. Would be totally comfortable asking for a recommendation of a product here. The place is clean, spacious and well lit. Good parking around the store and feels safe even after dark.

I typically keep my opinions to myself, this will have to be an exception. Petrock's Wine and Liquor has been my go to for all things related to wine, liquor, and beer for several years. Every time I walk in the store I am greeted by a helpful and exceptionally knowledgeable staff. To this day my favorite bourbon was a recommendation from one of the cashiers (Colonel Taylor).

However, what truly set Petrock's above and beyond the grain is their follow through. I recently have been on the search for an obscure Irish beer. Not only did they recommend several locations when they turned out to not carry what I wanted, they additionally returned my call the following day after investigating with the distributor as to where I could hunt down this mythical cream ale.

Petrock's is, without a doubt, the reason I choose to go with local. As long as I find myself in New Jersey, I promise you Petrock's will be the one and only destination I have for my beer and liquor.

Best liquor store on the area. Great selection, friendly staff, excellent pricing, and a family-owned business that has been there for a long time. Can't do better.

Trevor, Frank and the the rest of the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. The craft beer selection is great. If they don't have it ask and provided it's available they will get it for you.

My only place to purchase beverages. The proprietors are so warm and friendly. They are knowledgeable and never fail to ask how you're doing. They have a wide selection and have tastings of wines, artisan beers, and other spirits weekly.

Very helpful staff and manager. The manager was able to help me find everything I need for a particular gift, including a box for it. They also have an excellent selection of everything you can think of.

Great selection of beers I enjoy. Always friendly service. Ordering special beers is never a problem; they always try to get them in.
