The Baklava Lady

My visit to Baklava Lady in Englishtown was a delightful experience. The variety of delicious vegan options they offer truly impressed me. Their vegan dishes were bursting with flavor and left me wanting more. However, what stole the show was their cafe latte; it was simply out of this world! Beyond the fantastic food and drinks, what made my visit exceptional was the warm and friendly nature of the owners and staff. Their hospitality added an extra layer of enjoyment to my time there. If you're seeking scrumptious vegan Turkish cuisine served with a smile, Baklava Lady is a must-visit spot. I can't wait to come back :-)

So delicious! Everything. Baklava, wraps, scrambled tofu, bread, desserts, and Turkish coffee. We will definitely be back to try more from the menu.

One of my favorite places in Jersey. Unique food that you won’t find anywhere else. Everything is delicious and creative while still being authentic. I loved the potato bread, the rosewater lemonade, the hummus plate, and the pistachio Turkish coffee. If I lived closer I would be here every week! The staff are so helpful and friendly.

Very cozy family owned eatery that will not disappoint your taste bud's. My wife and I have been here twice, and we were satisfied on both of our visits. The owner herself treats her customers as if we're a guest in her house. She was super kind to check on us many times, even when she is occupied with so many tasks. She is a very successful businesswoman, yet she has special place for her customers in her heart. For those reasons we would love to keep coming back here again and again.

There are a lot of good vegan restaurants out there. Baklava Lady is the best. Nothing compares to the wonderful food, creative menu and wonderful staff. If you ever wanted to try going vegan, Baklava Lady is the "pass go, collect $200 and you now own the boardwalk"...

We have been regular here. Amazing food all vegan . And this is Mediterranean food done right. Tried rose lemonade which is delicious, kofte wrap , avocado toast and walnut baklava was just amazing. If you are looking to have good Mediterranean food this is the place .

By far the best authentic Mediterranean style café in the area! We tried the brunch menu and it was the best we have had in many years!!🥇
More importantly, this is a family owned place which gave us the sense of being at home the moment we step in and met the lovely family!! Highly recommend to all who value healthy and quality food and friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be back very soon!

On their first weekend back from vacation the staff and owners are amazing once again. They know your names as you walk through the doors, they are sooo kind, and loving. I was introduced to this family owned small business through my friend and it's literally the gift that keeps giving. I love ... love the food and trying something new each time. I drive about 25 minutes to come and I wouldn't care how long my wait was because the food is that amazing. The atmosphere and love that is placed into each dish is always worth the wait. Speaking of waiting.....even on this first weekend back, my food was out and hot, yummy and oh so good. I love coming and look forward to it weekly! A month long vacation was hard to do without them, but sooo glad they are refreshed and opened back up because the food never disappoints. You feel like family when you are there and like you just had a good home meal. Plus I mean it's vegan.....deliciousness. All love!

i absolutely love this place! so hard to find nice turkish food, let alone vegan turkish food. delicious and would recommend to everyone :)

I don't know why this place is open three days a week for only 5 hours a day, but they are doing potential customers an injustice. This is a fabulous place with terrific food. It's the definition of traditional Turkish cuisine that is the closest you will taste to a Turkish Grandma's cooking. Everything is fresh, the bread is hot, the Baklava is homemade and baked that morning. You can't ask for a more delicious meal.

My husband and I adore The Baklava lady and crew! We come here to eat nearly every weekend, and every meal is a treat! They put pure love and care into their food, their customers, and their business. You’re welcomed by name upon arrival, and feel like you’re eating with family. Great food, great atmosphere!

We are not vegan, we are just two people who enjoy good food served by friendly people in a cozy atmosphere. The Baklava Lady just happens to serve vegan food that exceeds our expectations. Even my carnivorous hubby enjoys eating lunch here.

Delicious! Gluten free offerings (like a chocolate donut with chocolate frosting!!) and pita that’s gluten free so you can get the chickpea tuna salad. It was delicious! They may need to change their take out containers so they don’t leak, but I’m not even mad since it was so amazing!

Quite simply the best place to eat in NJ (for vegans and non-vegans)! The Baklava Lady is such a special place for our family, we absolutely love their cozy vibes, the AMAZING food and EXCEPTIONAL service. We always order way too much so we can gave leftovers, and still order more to take home. The tahini rolls are my absolute favorite 🤩 We recommend this place every chance we get, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. 💕

The people here are so friendly and kind...plus the food is phenomenal! I love the cardamom latte and I could easily eat everything they make. The Menemen is fabulous. The bread and "butter" is addicting. The desserts are heavenly. I'm going to try a different item each time I go but if there's cardamom, I have to get that lol like the banana cardamom tea cake!!!

I know so many other reviewers have already said this, but this place really is a hidden gem 💎 I’ve been wanting to try this place for ages, but wasn’t able to due to covid and for the fact that I am usually busy during the days and hours they’re open, but my goodness it was worth the wait! The cafe is 15 minutes from my grandmother’s house where vegan options are very scarce so I really appreciate having this beauty in the area even if it’s only open on weekends ❤😂 definitely wanna return soon

The food is phenomenal. Atmosphere is relaxing and service is outstanding. The photos are of food we ate there and fantastic desserts for later. Even the cliental was so friendly.

Our family is always welcome at TBL, it’s a great environment with excellent service. We make the effort to drive over an hour (from north Jersey) to the bakery because it is such a unique and special place to us. Would highly recommend them, and anything from their menu, to anyone (vegans and non-vegans)!

I’ve been going to this amazing place since they open the doors for the first time, and I can tell you the service is always wonderful, they are friendly, kind and the food is out of this world since it’s prepared from scratch day by day.
They are very hardworking people so thank you so much, I really appreciate you all.
Note: If my any chance you need to wait 10 minutes or so for your food, just be kind and patient, they were away for a whole month and all of us are going back all at once. This is a small business doing a fantastic job ☺

The rose water lemonade, Turkish breakfast tray and baklava are all amazing! The vegan feta cheese is so rich and creamy. You can’t even tell the food is vegan if you don’t already know— seriously.

Also, the staff is so friendly and kind. My daughter really enjoyed playing finger puppets with one of the girls working there. She says it was her favorite part. We will definitely be back.
