Chef Jason at 1275

After seeing all of the rave reviews on the Mercer food page on Facebook we finally decided to give it a shot.

The dining room is one big open space and the decor is so-so, some tables had white tablecloths and some did not. They have an absolutely beautiful outdoor dining area equipped with heaters.

Our server was very attentive and helpful.

Now to the food. It was seriously some of the best food I’ve ever had. We started with the burrata which was outstanding.

Wife had the filet mignon which was cooked perfectly and the sauce was flavorful. The spinach and mashed potatoes were seasoned perfectly.

I had the Lobster ravioli which was easily the best I’ve ever had. Loaded with lobster meat and cooked perfectly. The roasted red pepper cream sauce was just incredible and again perfectly seasoned.

Will absolutely be back!

First I want to say, my fiance couldn't believe how astounding Chef Jason cooked his medium rare NY strip steak. He described it as firm but tender, buttery, rich with beefy flavor. And let me tell you, my fiance is extremely picky when it comes to his steak. His entree was called, Steak Don 16oz NY Strip Steak. For appetizers we ordered the sweet & sour shrimp, which was amazing, a small portion but just enough to have my taste busds wanting more. The other appetizer was the shaved brussels sprout salad, we hate brussel sprouts but when Jason insisted in giving it a try, we were staggered! It had so much flavor, it was this walnut glaze mixed with bacon, nothing we've ever had before. I ordered the linguine fra diavolo entree, tomato spicy sauce mixed with my favorite seafood, shrimp and crabmeat. All I have to say, I have to come back again and order this! The service was excellent too, no complaints on our server Anthony. We'll be back very soon.

I'm a chicken parm kinda guy. I try chicken parm everywhere I go. I was sent to New Jersey for military stuff and stayed at the hotel next to Chef Jason. I figured I would try it and glad I did! The Boom Boom Chicken is a unique chicken parm dish using vodka sauce (ranks top five I've ever had). And that was no fluke, I've been back two times since and the quality was still perfect! In addition, all the other food I've had at this place has been on point as well! Definitely worth a visit. The only other thing I will say is that this place is a BYOB, meaning if you want an alcoholic beverage be sure to pick something up before coming!

The food is beyond amazing. Menu does vary a bit given the fact ingredients fresh and local. There is outdoor seating and the option for BYOB which are nice option to have.

Delicious! I ordered food last minute on Valentine's Day when my husband booked a room for us next door at the Marriott.They were very accommodating and made our day fabulous. The crab cake was a great size and calamari was lightly seasoned to perfection. I'll definitely be back!

Jason is a talented chef and cooks from the heart and you taste it in every bite! Dishes are creative, flavorful, and abundant. Great spot for small and large gatherings. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. They take their queue from Chef/Owner Jason! Chef Jason's at 1275 is BYOB - so don't forget your favorite wine or beer. Looking forward to my next visit!

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Chef Jason's. The service was wonderful - friendly, and paced just right for a relaxed family dinner. The food did not disappoint - from the pear sacchettoni appetizer (seriously, if you see this on the menu, get it!), to our entrees, to dessert & coffee - everything was delicious and nicely presented. We will definitely be going back for more excellent meals in the future!

My daughter and I were staying at the Residence Inn and thought we would have something delivered. Absolutely amazing! Had the filet medium. Considering food is never as good as when it's served at your table in a restaurant, we were impressed at how fantastic the food was as delivery. Higher end quality and flavors were so delicious. I've been to many amazing restaurants and I will make special trips to Chef Jason at 1275 in the future. Highly recommended.

We had my sons communion party at Chef Jason at 1275. The food was amazing and Jason was a pleasure to work with. The atmosphere was wonderful and the guests truly enjoyed the party. We will definitely have another party there in the future. I can’t wait to just go there for either lunch or dinner soon.

We finally tried Chef Jason and the food was great! The vodka rigatoni is out of this world. We went for one of the family packages and it was a great choice for take out. Plenty of amazing food and packaged very well. We will definitely be coming back soon!

I recently went to Chef Jason's Restaurant for a good friend of mines 30th birthday celebration and I have nothing but good things to say about the whole experience.
The restaurant was well within social distancing guidelines. The staff was very accomidating/professional and most of all the food was absolutely delicious! My favorite dish was the short ribs with asparagus and mashed potatoes which was so tender it fell apart and I could cut it using my fork. My girlfriend had the Salmon which was packed with flavor and cooked to absolute profection!
I cannot wait to visit this location again and if my 2nd experience was anything like my first it might be well worth the 30 minute drive to become a regular.
THIS PLACE IS THE REAL DEAL and is a must go for foodies.
I can't wait to return.

I took my boyfriend out to dinner for his birthday. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The food was DELICIOUS! He got the filet, I had seabass. Both of them were amazing! Definitely going back soon!

5/27/2021 - Just left Chef Jason at 1275……… man can this guy cook. The pork chop was dead on, words can not describe how good the food was. There is no place in this area that has anything close to what Chef Jason offers.

Update....... Mother’s Day was awesome. The wait was worth the meal. Any place on Mother’s Day is crowded and the wait is long, but at this place the food is off the charts good. I’m sure Zinna’s had quicker service and food to match. Go to Chef Jason and find out what Cranbury, NJ is talking about !!

Wow, what a great take out experience, worth every penny !! Chef Jason has awesome food, straight up. I can’t wait until they open up the indoor dining room and the three terraces outside, that will be amazing I’m sure. Can wait, for now the take out is done right.

2 big thumbs up for Chef Jason! Ordered Thanksgiving dinner for takeout which was a good deal (avg was about $35/pp) for a high-quality, delicious meal that included soup and dessert along with mains and sides. I find that turkey is lacking most of the time but Chef Jason's was the best I've ever eaten. Perfectly seasoned/well-brined, moist, and with fresh gravy and cranberry sauce! Sides (e.g. stuffing, mash pots, yams) were classic in preparation so the flavors were familiar which worked well for the whole family. The servings were very generous which we were happy to have leftovers because the food is so delicious. In addition to making delicious food, Chef Jason is a also kind (he carried everything out to my car without asking!) and gives back to his community, supporting local food purveyors and first responders. Top-notch chef, excellent food, and reasonable prices!

Stop what you're doing and make a reservation to visit Jason and his team at 1275. If you're looking for top-tier service, you'll find few places with a more intimate and attentive staff. If you're looking for portion sizes that make other local establishments seem like they only serve "small plates", this place is for you. If you're looking for A S T O U N D I N G flavor profiles that make you realize you've been doing this "food" thing wrong all along, Jason's cuisine is for you. Ideal for those who enjoy consuming copious amounts of delicious calories.

They treat me lake family, awesome place for relax and enjoy the meal . Am from Puerto Rico an you need to go at this place if you like high culinary expectation the portion of the meal are good the deserts are good quality home made plus the service is good ask for rob the server is good and friendly person and the chef Jason is a great person.

The food was amazing. I had the pleasure of having Robert as my waiter. He was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable of the menu. I’ve made this place my regular spot. The Boom Boom Chicken and the Steaks are highly recommended.

UPDATE...seeing some of the negative reviews are understandable. But, patience is key. Most new restaurants need time to work out the kinks. And, covid didn't help. If you read the news, you'll see many restaurants are having staffing issues given the increased unemployment payouts. Why work when you make so much more for doing nothing? That will change. So...hang in there Chef Jason! And to the patrons...be patient. The food is worth the wait ( as so many noted!)

ORIGINAL POST...know I've posted other reviews...but can't say enough! Love Chef Jason! Never disappoints...always amazing! You have to try his restaurant!

If it was possible to give more stars I would. The food & staff were absolutely incredible. It is amazing when you walked away stuffed & still wanting more! Will 100% be back...next time I will have to save some of the garlic bread to dip in the sauce from the Steak Don!

Stopped in for the first time, food was delicious. Anthony was a great waiter. No concerns at all. I don't know what another reviewer meant by 'cubicle dividers', I saw nothing like that today (9/1). Will be back.
