DOOTSIE'S KITCHEN

I am so glad me and my mom found this place, the owner is absolutely incredible and such a joy to talk to. We walked in and instantly got greeted by the owner and who we assumed, the cook, and they were both welcoming, friendly men. We got talking to the owner before placing our order and he was so easy to talk to, we got deep into getting to know the business and the history, we felt like we’ve known each other forever, very comforting! Me and my mom placed our order and both got the BBQ chicken, collard greens, Mac and cheese(my mom got the potato salad) and it came with sweet potato cornbread, We also got the Banana Pudding and the Pumpkin Cheesecake. If you’ve read this far all I can say is PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEE get over there, it’s all homemade and it shows, these are deep rooted recipes that deserve a taste from everyone. We took our order to go and my mom couldn’t even wait the 10 minute ride home before she dug right in. Everything was so so delicious and comforting, and so flavorful (I’m writing this review after eating everything and now it’s making me hungry again) this place deserves a loyal customer base and I wish nothing but great things for them over there. Without a doubt me and my mom will be coming here again and again. And the fact we have it right in our back yard is the highlight of my year! And when I didn’t think it could get any better………. THEY CATER AS WELL !!!! We will be seeing you again, very soon. Hands down the best Soul food establishment!! Forever loyal customers!

I was looking for a spot to grab breakfast on a Saturday. I found Dootsie's Kitchen was close so I arrived just as they slightly before they opened. I asked what the owner what he'd recommend for a first time customer if he wanted to get me to talk about how great his food was to friends. *Spoiler alert: THEY FOOD IS GREAT. * He recommended the French Toast Waffle and Chicken. I ordered it and it took a while to prepare. I only noticed because I had skipped breakfast and I was getting Hangry. A hangry persons looks at the clock when waiting for their order like everyone else looks at the time clock at the end of the work on Friday.
The plate came out and the Waffle was dusted with powered sugar and the chicken wings were fresh out the fryer.
I was impressed.
The meal was delicious.
They are open 6 days a week, closed on Mondays.
I'm looking forward to checking out the rest of their menu. They've been open for a year and I encourage you to visit and tell your friends so they will be around for years because I need time to go through the rest of the menu.
I highly recommend the restaurant.

We enjoyed an amazing meal at Dootsie’s. The food was packed with flavor. I had tender oxtails , chopped jerked turkey wings over rice. The Mac n cheese - Magnificent, yams, collard/cabbage. Fried chicken crispy and well seasoned. 10 out of 10

Read.. nice location, great customer service, but the food wasn’t it for me and it hurts to say I am very honest person and if you follow me I love some good soul food. I think I caught them wrong time of the day. I got Fried chicken wings mac & cheese and yams I know places have day old stuff but sides wasn’t fresh killed me fr I was looking forward to that and the wings was fry good but the lemon pepper chicken wasn’t cooked cooked if you know what and it wasn’t cleaned well still feathers on for 20 dollars I need my bird done right do you hear me lol 🤣 but I think they open later in the day they will be more prepared 5 stars when the food was a 0 sorry guys ! A1 customer services tho !

The food was absolutely incredible! I devoured it quickly! The fried chicken platter was great and every item was seasoned to perfection. The service was outstanding as well, with an inviting and warm atmosphere created by the staff. This place has definitely become my new favorite local spot.

First time I tried this place and I'm going to start this off with saying the macaroni and cheese is BETTER than your grandmothers version and her mothers version. It had me dancing in my kitchen after the second bite and was very pleased. The greens were amazing and you could tell they were made with L-O-V-E. The fish and shrimp were great along with the chicken. The banana pudding almost put me in a food coma because I couldn't stop eating the goodness of this dessert (thankful I was make it to the gym afterwards, lol). My family enjoyed everything about the meal and I would highly recommend giving this place a try!

I ordered lunch from Dootsie's today (via UberEats) and I'm STILL FULL! The food was amazing, full of flavor and tasted like it was made with care. The baked chicken was SOOO GOOD, collards & cabbage well cooked! And I don't know what is in the Mac and cheese but I could probably eat a whole tray of it in one sitting. 😅

SO excited!!! So good! So clean! Fresh and delicious. We got the pineapple bbq and hot spicy wings - they came with fries 6 for $10. their cornbread is sweet potato cornbread - tastes like cake! hubby got fried whiting (cornmeal) with collard greens (cut with cabbage) candies yams - yum yum yum. i had baked bbq quarter chicken dark with collards too and black-eyed peas (nice & soft). the collards and BEP were delicious- i don’t think smoked but very slow-cooked! and lastly the banana pudding with strawberries - gurrllll YUMMO! go support a small business! a black-owned small business!! I can’t wait for breakfast fish & grits or shrimp & grits or chicken & waffles!!! go go go!!!

I'm the owner of Spa NeVάeh and order food for my staff and myself. I had the fried chicken with yams and macaroni & cheese. When I say it was DELICIOUS!!! The owner Jeff and staff is very nice and welcoming. The restaurant is clean. I highly recommend this soul food restaurant

Came all the way here from Staten Island to get some real fried chicken. Dootsie's did not disappoint. My wife and I enjoyed the Food and conversation with the owner. We will be back...

Wanted some fried chicken but was tired of popeyes and KFC’s corpo taste. Luckily this was around the bend from my workplace so i gave it a shot and was met with good service and a cool relaxed atmosphere. Following that up was a crunchy set of cajun buffalo wings and next level chicken and waffles for a very fair price, especially for food made with love. Support local business. Strongly recommend

The best fish n grits I've ever had. I didn't want to stop eating to take a picture of the dish. Nice staff. Don't come there in a rush.

My food was delicious!!!! I ordered chicken wings, greens, candied yams, and greens. Everything was amazing and I’m looking forward to going back. I was not disappointed!!!

One of the best finds we have come across for lunch. The atmosphere is comfy and service is so kind and friendly. And the food is AMAZING. Genuinely I feel like it should be more expensive with how great everything is, if you’re in the area I 100% recommend taking a stop here and order the Mac & cheese that was my favorite by far!

The man said “this is gonna be the best chicken & waffles you ever had” & it sure was. Just know it does take a while to get your food but it’s FRESH & Good. Worth the wait. Also, Great customer service!

So nice to finally have some homecooked soul food near by. I ordered the Soul-To-Go with fried chicken, yams, potato salad, and sweet potato cornbread...so flavorful. Owner, staff, and service was amazing! Also, recommend the neighborhood punch! Excuse the already partially eaten photos, had to try before I posted my review lol

I can’t tell my grandma this man’s greens are better than hers but it’s the truth! 😭

We were having a hard time finding a place that would make everything my grandma was looking for for her birthday. She is no longer going out to restaurants or any of our homes so we are having gatherings in her community room of her senior living home. Dootsies came up with a personalized menus outside of their regular menu to meet all my grandmas requests. We are looking forward to having the holidays with Dootsies as well!

Tried Dootsie’s today for the first time as it’s a new family owned business. It was wonderful and the staff were friendly and welcoming! They make 2 special recipe punch drinks that were both delicious and we loved the food too. The sweet cornbread was a fantastic touch to complete the meal. It was like a taste of home!

Best wings i’ve ever had, best waffle my boyfriend ever had. this place is amazing and deff will be back. owner is so kind!!!
