Blue Heron Campground has always been a staple spot for us when going over to the White River to fish! This year they have added 2 luxury cabins and we saw them for the first time while RVing this weekend and they are absolutely gorgeous! The access to the water will be the best you can find anywhere on the river. There is a well maintained boat ramp, huge open green space, a nice pavilion for larger gatherings, etc. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer campground anywhere on the river! It is maintained meticulously and the staff are so accommodating! This will be a place that our family will come for years to come! Thank you Blue Heron staff and owners for providing such a great place to make lifeling memories!

Note: I do have bias, as the previous owners were my grandparents, and in fact I lived in the house behind the gas station. Cabins are cozy, pool used to be nice, and the rest rooms are clean, plus good hunting areas. Reading some of the lower ratings makes me sad, as my Grandpa, Barry has Parkinson's Disease, and can't do anything on the campsites, and my Grandma is the babysitter of all the grandchildren, used to spend all the time I could with my cousins/family here. 5/5 would recommend.

Stayed here on a drive from Ohio to Oregon. This was one of the nicest campgrounds. The bathrooms were clean and had showers. There was a nice playground for kids and a small fenced in dog park. And the manager was super nice and helpful! Highly recommend.

What a great stop on our big cross country move. Steve was so helpful and guided us right to our spot. I'd definitely stop here again for a longer stay and to explore the area.

Great campground right off the highway but with minimal highway noise. Lots of mature trees and it is adjacent to a forested area along the Platte river. Each site has a nice picnic table and there is a mix of camping with tent sites, full hook up and partial hookups. The owner is easy going and helpful. He wasn't going to be there when we arrived so he let us know where to go and he checked in on us when he got back. FYI It is cheaper if you call the owner to book and pay once you get there rather than book online. Also I would recommend calling ahead as I'm not sure there's always someone on-site to check you in. There is a map with the sites marked as you pull in. Google maps will take you to the gas station and then follow signs as the entrance is right there.

Great place to stay

The host was very warm and friendly. We just stopped for the night and he got us settled into a cabin within 15 minutes, and the price was fair, cash even better.

The setting is very cute and mostly quiet, just a little noise from the interstate.

They have available;

Tent camping
Cabins (3)
RV hookups, 30 amp and 50 amp

We stayed just a night but it was great! Cute campground. Bathrooms/Showers were clean. Steve, the manager, was lovely. We were late arrivals, he met us at the front and showed us where to stay. Would absolutely stay again!

Easy in, easy out. We were passing through and didn’t even have to unhitch our trailer. Site was level and flat. Restrooms were clean. Host was friendly.

Few campers present (mid Oct) when we stayed. The dirt/gravel site was level. A lot of pull through sites. Nice huge trees providing shade. Full hook up (water/sewer/electric) at the pull through locations. Wi-Fi was nonexistent. US Cellular & Verizon reception good. TV antenna reception was nonexistent. There is an interstate and train tracks nearby but not terribly loud. All in all, the RV park was good. $54 a night for our site. The RV operator works out of an RV. Look for the "office" sign near the restrooms/showers.. Drives a red truck. Usually not at office but shows up quickly if you call. He stopped by a couple times just to make sure we were not having any problems. Pleasant person. Oh yeah, check out the gas station near entrance as you leave. We were pleasantly surprised at how clean and neat it was when we dropped in to get coffee for the road.

Love shack tours, super clean RV park very beautiful super helpful staff. We came in the dark and he helped us maneuver our Redwood 4150 RD 44 foot long fifth wheel. In to our campsite. Very friendly. This used to be a KOA campground .The trees are all trimmed No low branches to worry about for a large rig. We only stayed one night but it for $45 this is a great place. Would stay here again.

This was a perfect spot for the night! We tent camped surrounded by big mature trees and had great star viewing. Steve is super easy to get ahold of and even stayed up late to greet us on arrival. Bathrooms were clean and convenient.

My partner and I love stopping here to car camp en route across the country! We’ve tent camped here three times now. The bullfrogs nearly overpower the highway sounds and we always see birds and wildlife near the pond. Thousands of lightning bugs. Peaceful.

Not sure what all the fuss is about over this place. It's surrounded by water so there's lots of natural vegetation and trees, it's very rustic. Not a resort, by any means, but the owner was friendly, sites are mostly level gravel, pool very inviting, and fwy/train noise minimal. We would agree that it's not big rig friendly though! We fit fine in our 32' Class A w/toad, but larger rigs won't w/o unhooking, which defeats the purpose of an overnight pull-thru. Water pressure good and electric reliable. Office is up front in the A-frame adjacent to the gas station, not clearly marked, so be sure to stop out there. We had a nice, relaxing overnight stay and would stay here again.

We love staying at this place because it is rustic. The hosts are charming and very welcoming. They are always willing to make our stay a great experience. I love the tall trees and the quietness of the campground. What I really like is they don't charge for extra people above two, and we weren't charged for having pets like other campgrounds.

Friendly and helpful staff, beautiful cabin and clean. Pretty natural landscaping. Great price. Bathrooms are clean with showers. Bring bedding, no bathroom in cabin, pool was closed. Would recommend and come back!

Steve was very friendly and helped us on our way back to NY. Looked like a nice place to camp - there was shade, picnic tables, a clean bathroom, fresh water, and 50 amp service.

Very reasonable for the stay. Extremely nice couple who owns the place. The bathrooms and showers are clean and well kept. They have a play area for kids and an area to walk your dogs. The water was hot and the laundry area is nice and extremely cheap. Would recommend you to stop and try it.

Stayed here recently during an RV tour. Great campsite and the owners are lovely and really helpful. Best nights sleep of the three week trip due to the site being quiet. Set among trees, we had a lovely spot.

Fantastic campground, was staying overnight on my way to Utah from Canada and Steve made sure my stay was as comfortable as it could be , went above and beyond by offering me a cabin instead of the tent site I had reserved and offered me advice on good mechanics in town as my car was having trouble, will definitely stay here again if I’m coming through Nebraska

Cute place! Close to interstate to be convenient but not too close for the noise. Even trains were distant. Has a pool in the summer and a playground for kids. Nice pull through sites with trees for shade. Great place to pull in for a night or stay a few.
