1 mile trail with 750 vertical is a steep climb. Trail was very heavily traveled (36-40 sign ins this date in the trail register) due to eclipse crowds. Snow storm 5 days ago left heavy, wet snow on trail. This led to wet trails, deep mud, and areas of sloppy slick packed snow. 2 of 3 of our party slipped and fell. It was worth it to view the eclipse from the summit.

It's a short hike in but all uphill. Normally, it wouldn't be bad, but currently, the mix of snow and ice makes it a bit treacherous. Once you reach the top, the unobstructed 360⁰ views are worth the effort.

Wonderful hike to take. Well maintained trail with a wide view at the top of the climb. You will also have the view from a fire tower if you wish. Yes, there is a privy at the top as well. Yes, the trail is dog friendly too.

Excellent trail. Very well maintained with markings on the trees every 10 meters or so. You can definitely brings the dogs and kids on this trail as it’s only 1.9 miles out and back. Be aware that the elevation gain is roughly 750 and you will be climbing the whole way to the top pretty much. The sights are worth it though. One of the coolest fire towers I’ve been to so far in the Adirondacks park. Bring water and snacks! Was not that muddy for early May.

Mount Arab was a very quick hike for us. It is considered more challenging than the other 2 in the Tupper Lake Triad due to its quick elevation gains, but that's why I loved it so much. It was the third of the mountains that day so we were thoroughly warmed up. The fire tower at the top had amazing views. There are a couple trails away from the peak where you can find a bench in a private clearing overlooking the forest. We found 2 benches... I have no idea if that's all of them or not, lol. The entire hike took us about an hour, and we spent about 20 minutes at the top.

The hike up is pretty easy and the views are worth it. If you are scared of heights I would not climb the tower.

7-14-23 A short hike for all ages. Our 1.5 yr old made it halfway up before he tired out. We found wild blueberries at the top and a very neat look out ⛰ a small but clean and stocked privy at the top.

It's an incredible view. Breathe taking. The trail is listed as moderate. I'd say that is accurate. It is not for beginners. We took a handful of 13 year old boy scouts on the trail and stopped a few times for water breaks since it was a very hot day. It is almost all shade. I wouldn't take a 7 year old on the trail. It was definitely a workout hiking the trail, but the end reward was fantastic!

Great 2 mile round trip hike with moderate elevation. Very panoramic view at the top and then the Arab tower only gets better. I stall outhouse at the top

The hike to the Mount Arab Fire Tower was one of our favorite fire tower experiences so far. The trail was moderately challenging yet enjoyable and straightforward.
What we did not expect was such a great educational opportunity at the summit. There is a small but enlightening fire tower museum at the summit. The guide/host provides a great tour and narrative on the history of the fire tower and the times when it was actively occupied. FYI, kids get a certificate for the visit and their are a few items for sale that support the operation of the tower and the museum. Donations are also accepted but not mandatory.

It was a great trail with good views. Not too challenging, you definitely do gain elevation quickly but it's not steep enough that you have to use your hands and knees like some of the high peaks. They are in the process of restoring the fire tower and it looks great. It is even labeled at the top with the names of the mountains and rivers you can see from there. The trail is in great shape.

Only a 1 mile hike but mostly up the mountain the whole time. Pretty easy considering some of the other fire tower in the area. Nice little museum near the tower to look through and see the history. The trial is very well maintained,

Nice hike up to the fire tower. The trail has rock staircases on the steeper parts. Lots of families were making the hike when we went. Boots recommended but not necessary. A good pair of sneakers will suffice unless it's raining. Nice 360 degree views from the top, with a labeled photo to tell you what mountain you're looking at.

The views are incredible. The trail is a bit slippery when wet but not too bad. Steep but easy to do with older kids

A 0.7 mile hike to the summit, Mt. Arab is a great, short, Adirondack hike. The trail is well marked and well maintained. We started our hike in the afternoon and took our time going up the trail, watching birds and identifying plants along the way. The fire tower at the top offers 360° views, and there are also small areas at the summit with benches for those with small children, dogs, or who do not want to venture up the metal steps of the fire tower. It could be hiked in as little as an hour, but if you have time, I recommend traveling at a slower pace to truly experience the space.
