Our campsite was level, as were many other campsites we looked at. Privacy, shade, and condition of fire pits and tables was good. Toilets and drinking water spigots were well located and well maintained. The sand beach is excellent for swimming. The firewood was $11 USD for 1 cubic foot, but was bone dry hardwood that split easily, and burned very well.

Beautiful views of the lake. Very peaceful. Great kayaking. Only negative is the shower water turns off every 20 seconds. Need to change that. At least the water was warm.

Beautiful campground. I loved being near the water. We hiked Bear Mountain which is right there and just walked to the camp site. We hiked High Falls a few miles away. The beauty of nature is just unbelievable. It rained a few times but it didn't ruin our time there. It was wonderful. We will definitely return.

Carly was such a sweet host that checked us in and answered all of our questions. We had to go back for a few requests and she was so helpful and patient while we worked out our needs.
The amenities were good. The campsites are very nice on the water and it was very serene.

By far, best campground I have ever been to. Gorgeous lake, fantastic campsites with plenty of shade and room on the site and in between site, well maintained roads and amenities particularly the beach area and bathrooms. Will definitely be back.

Nobody told me the lake would be FROZEN?! water was too low and not liquid. Terrible boating experience.

This is what they mean by Good Old Days. It's Good, it's Old, and you need to spend a few Days there. Huge lots, beautiful lake, clean air, I've been coming here since 1989, it's spectacular.

Lovely campground. We had a great spot at #064. Sites are decently spread out, but there’s no division between other sites so you can pretty much see everybody else at all times. Not the campgrounds fault but we were surrounded by families who were asleep exactly at 10pm and I felt like even my whispers could be heard several sites over since we were right on the calm water. Made it difficult to relax and enjoy the night-time campfire but didn’t ruin the trip by any means. Had no luck fishing, lots of rocks and downed trees by my site, kept getting hooked. Loved the friendly animals all around. Chipmunk climbed right in my snack bag and on my foot another time. Mallard ducklings were super cute and the momma trusted us being less than 2 feet away (that means people are often good to them, so keep that up humanity lol). Overall, amazing views of the lake and the site itself was large, fairly level, a bit rocky so bring a mallet, and incredibly peaceful. I’ll be back!!

William Myres went missing near, under strange circumstances. After 40 years of being a hunting guide.

We loved this campground! Extremely well-maintained with loving details. Lots of nice tree cover and good space between sites in the Peninsula Loop. Ask at the check-in desk for a great guide to local waterfall hikes. The Bear Mountain Loop hike was more strenuous than expected but very rewarding--be sure to start by the trailhead near the beach, not in the campground loop or it will be even more strenuous. We would absolutely drive halfway across the country to visit again!

Many thanks to Cary and her staff for another great time at Cranberry Lake Campground. One thing we love about it is the space between the sites. Lots of trees The bathroom and shower house were kept clean and with views like that you can't go wrong. See ya next year.

Perhaps one of the best campgrounds we have ever stayed at anywhere in the US. All the sites are large, secluded, and wooded. Very cool natural rock formations throughout. Several Lakefront sites with direct and easy access to the lake for pulling up a boat or launching a Kayak. Great hiking trails all around. Outside of the campground, the entire area is tired and run down. Don't expect much in the way of restaurants or services... Natural beauty makes up for the misses...

I love how spaced out the sites are. There are some beautiful site on the water that we’ll choose next time. There’s more than 1 dump station which is very convenient. They offered free wood and toys for the kids. The bathrooms were clean and great water pressure in the shower. The beach was fine, a bit shallow. We hiked the Bear Mountain trail. A nice hike but absolutely nothing to see at the top except for a lot of tree.

This is a great campground for campers who want to be in a natural setting, not an amusement park. We had noisy neighbours, but they were dealt with quickly and professionally by the caretaker. The washroom facilities are so clean you could eat in them. We discovered the hiking trails this time around, and will definitely be bringing proper hiking boots for our visit next year. Cranberry Lake has become an annual pilgrimage for us.

This place is heaven on earth to me! Absolutely beautiful and the people I met here were wonderful and very nice. No problems what so ever and the trails were very well maintained. Looking forward to coming back. Only thing to mention is bring bug spray!! Mosquitoes and black flies can get nasty but if your prepared its not that bad!

An absolutely beautiful location ,Tucked away in the Adirondacks mountains. Restrooms and bathhouse extremely clean. Do your research however on your campsite some of them can be very small. Wonderful waters for boating , kayaking & fishing. The beach however when we went was closed but still we had a beautiful time. Cannot wait to go back again.

One of my favorite campgrounds in NY. Beautiful scenery, clean facilities, friendly staff. Many sites have water access or water views. Water sites tend to get booked early, so bear that in mind.

Sites are mostly spacious and you're not "on top of" your neighbor.

Some reviewers complaining about lack of playgrounds or store on-site. Neither is a concern if you a) entertain your kids with the countless acres or wilderness and water and b) pack accordingly or visit the nearby town of Star Lake for provisions.

There is a sandy beach on site, though water sites usually have easy walk-in access to water. Makes launching kayaks and canoes easy and safe.

Highlights include the nighttime serenade of common loons and barred owl. Eerie and beautiful music!
