French Creek Boat Launch and Bike Trail

Fantastic, free place to launch kayak's from. Once on the water, you can go north towards the lake and you may spot an eagle. Or travel down south to the Day’s Dam Falls area. Highly recommended!

The parking lot has about 20-30 slots, fairly large and serves the purpose. L e needs to drive down to the launching site. The site has new and modern launch equipment that meets ADA requirements. Easy to get in and out of a kayak while the kayak is sitting on the platform.

Both gravel paths and nice "unimproved" as they call it, winding up, down, narrow dirt paths. Only one negative. Trails aren't marked. Your phone apps that track you though, will get you back.

It’s a very beautiful place, the river is the most especially gorgeous part. The hiking trails and be a little challenging to navigate, but still a great time

Great bike trail. Great views. Trials over bridges. Many hills. If you reach Dam's Day Park they have a nice bike repair station with tools and air. See picture.

Nice place to jog, walk or run. The trails are well-maintained. I haven't been there yet without seeing at least 1 ranger driving around.

A very nice long trail to just be outside and get some exercise. What I like is how everything is connected from Elyria to Lorain.

This is a great place to launch a kayak. It is a very scenic trip.

Really nice canoe and kayak launch, hidden gem. Solid aluminum dock with support bars to safely get in and out of your boat. It's a short paddle downstream to get to the Black River, or you can paddle upstream. Upstream paddle depends on water levels, low water levels you'll only get about a quarter of a mile, bit higher water you can go quite a ways.

Great place to launch your kayak since it's a specific kayak launch. Easy access to the black River to go north to Lake Erie or south towards Elyria

Great Kayak put in access to French Creek, located off Old Colorado Rd. Short trip downstream to the Black River .

Great trail to walk. You can walk to elyria or the mile long pier from here. Good for bikes as well

Drive to ramp is narrow but not too busy. Location is nice and secluded.

Excellent biking or hiking trails. Some pretty neat bridges and waterfalls.
