Lovely trails with grassy fields and little bridges over brooks. Old rock walls and rock formations make this easy hike very beautiful.

An area of 1st growth forests which was once pasture land, the Canochet Brooke runs through the center and is bordered by the Wood River to the east.
Mostly pine forests with areas of maple, oak and birch along the stream when you enter and to the north.
The northern border of the preserve is a subdivision. Much of this woods is young birch pine mix.
In the center of the preserve trails bring you to the small Plain Pond. This pond is sourounded by an older pine forest.
A good amount of wetland views await as you follow the old rail trail to the south.
The western border of the preserve runs along the Woodville Alton Rd.
There's also assorted grassy fields along the many trails through the area. Mostly in the south.

Very easy trails and probably perfect for kids. Also a nice change of pace for a 90 degree day. Railroad bed, some open areas, Brooks, the river and a pond for exploring. Couple of fishing spots if you're looking for a place that seems to be less traveled. I hiked every trail on the map (except at the far end of the railroad bed because I couldn't locate them) and resulted in 5.5 miles.
