Strayhorn Grill

It's probably the most comfortable restaurant I've been to in a long, long time, It's open and clean with tons of seating but never seems too loud. A couple of tvs at the bar - nothing fancy but all very inviting.

The food is always spot on and full of flavor. The breading on the cheese curds has fresh herbs in them (assumed fresh because it's definitely not your typical Italian herb bread crumbs)

Chili Relleno was killer and had a great crunch. The crust wasn't an egg batter crust but not a fried flour tortilla either. Personally, I liked the thicker refried beans so they don't run into everything else!

The flavors, textures, atmosphere, and service makes this my new fave!

We had dinner with friends tonight. It is not too noisy so it was easy to carry on a conversation, which I so appreciate. I had the Porterhouse Pork Chop Special & it was absolutely delicious! A beautiful mushroom garlic cream sauce on the pork chop was so perfect with the mashed potatoes & fresh green beans. They even included a free glass of wine! Perfect meal, fun waitress & a great price all add up to an excellent experience! My husband had the salmon & said it was perfect too. We’ll be back soon! ♥

Amazing taste and fresh food. Friendly service. Great atmosphere. They have areas you can sit to see TV and other areas more quiet. There is outside sitting. They use Colorado Beef.
I had the green soup and the sirloin dinner. Also the cheesecake which handmade. They have several other homemade desserts. We will be back again and again.

Joey took great care of us for a wonderful dinner tonight. The meat is Angus certified and tastes delicious. my burger and my husband’s rare tenderloin with French fries came out hot and were one of the best meals we’ve ever had!

Love this local place. Amazing breakfasts with some incredible green chili. First time I went there for dinner and very much enjoyed it. Family was happy as well. Menu was great. Staff was incredible. Great local spot and highly recommend it.

First time at Strayhorn Grill, we had a great dinner! We stopped in on a Friday night around 5:30 and got a table right away; there was a bit of a wait when we left.

Large portions, fast service, and very friendly staff.

We started the meal with "tips and toast," a hearty appetizer. Our oldest son had the bunkhouse chicken (photo) and devoured it.
My husband and I had the salmon, large portions, and it was delicious. Our other son had the filet and said it was cooked to perfection and gone so fast I could not take a photo. The side salads were very fresh!
Along with a soup or salad, they also served rolls, a choice of sides, and veggies; you won't leave hungry!

Love supporting a local business vs a franchise chain!

First time here. We ordered the prime rib and bunkhouse chicken. Everything was absolutely delicious, the service was great, and the prices were very reasonable. We can't wait to go back! This will definitely be our go to date night spot until the foreseeable future!

We moved to the Grand Valley 6 months ago, and had yet to find the perfect breakfast spot...until today, when we dined at the Strayhorn Grill in Fruita. Everything was wonderful, from the cowboy ambiance to the friendly service to the great food. My omelet was cooked to perfection, and the hash browns were actually brown and crispy on top (a first for me after trying several other restaurants' versions). My food was so freshly cooked it was still steaming! Hubby had French toast with real maple syrup (another first around here), along with bacon, eggs, and fresh fruit. We can't wait to go back to the Strayhorn Grill and try their prime rib dinner!

This place is back, it was so, so a year ago, things must have been rough for a spell But now it is back to its old self. A place with Great food, happy servers and a place for the whole family young and old. The prices are very reasonable, specials are special 👌. Found a place I want to return to. Bravo 👏

The only thing I would change is adding a little more heat to the green chile. This was awsum and we can't wait to try lunch or dinner the next time we come through Grand Junction.

AMAZING place to eat! I’m from West Virginia and we came into town for Country Jam! We had a lovely waitress named Cindy, would 100% recommend to anyone in the area!!

Strayhorn is fantastic! Wonderful food and delightful service. We had the Wine n’ Dine special tonight which was a CRAZY good deal. A magnificent mushroom covered pork chop with a lovely Caesar salad, great green beans, tasty taters, a rockin’ roll and a glass of wine for $17!!! Fruita might be a small town but our dining options are mighty, and the Strayhorn Grill is spectacular! Carly gave us wonderful service too. 500 Stars!

Had lunch Monday 12/11/23 with 15 friends. Great service (Thank You Jodi), delicious food, reasonable prices and beautifully decorated room/tables for the holidays. Will definitely be back!

Neat little place. The food and service was good.

This place was really good. The omelettes were filled what good stuff and the fried potatoes were crisp and flavorful. While the place was mostly empty because we had a late breakfast, our sever was very down-to-home and super friendly. She took good care of us. Given the poor omelette experience we had in Estes Park, this was a breath of fresh air. We would definitely stop by this place again.

I ordered three ranch burgers for some friends. We used carry out. The new owners are doing a great job. The burgers were perfectly cooked and the carryout was very complete with every thing we needed. The best burger I have had in a long time! I will go back to Strayhorn, it was fantastic and everything was over the top perfect for us when I brought the burgers to their house for dinner.

We haven't been here for about a year due to inconsistencies each time we visited. We noticed tonight on Google that there were new owners so we decided to give it a try. The meal was delicious. We had the porterhouse steak which was cooked perfectly rare as we requested. The old fashioned was done perfectly and the margarita was great as well. Our server, Alexia, was very attentive and service was prompt.

We went to Strayhorn a couple of years ago. I thought the food was OK - nothing special. We went back recently since the restaurant was under new ownership.
Man! what a pleasant surprise! The menu has some interesting and delicious choices. The cookery is way above par. Service is great and the staff is fun. I’ve got a feeling we’re going to be regulators for quite some time.

Enjoyed the soup and salad, Ceasars with beef and Chicken Fried Steaks...absolutely delicious, generous servings. Full bar, Happy hour. Laura was our server. Very delightful. Enjoyed some outdoor dining. Would definitely recommend.
