We had a great time camping overnight here! Great staff at the visitor’s center that helped us get checked in. They sell ice and wood there for good prices. We really loved our campsite location. We could see the river in both directions out of camp. Super clean bathrooms and really decent showers that are all lit at night. Every site has water and electricity with both RV hookups and regular outlets. A little road noise but the sounds of crickets drowns it out at night. Absolutely beautiful area and quite a few areas to fish. We enjoyed hiking all over the park and everything was close to our site. If you like to play disc golf, they have two courses. If you want to try, they sell discs in the visitor’s center. Over all a super fun and family friendly place to stay! We will be going back every year.

Stayed a week. Pretty area. Hiking and fishing opportunities. Clean restrooms. Stayed in Upper campground, which it turns out is a bit noisier due to freeway noise. Would stay in lower campground in the future. Oregon Trail trail was very interesting, as was Register Rock. Visitor Center is informative.

We rented a cabin and stayed overnight to watch the Perseids meteor shower. Beautiful dark skies allowed us a great view. The cabin was clean and comfortable. Loved it.

Awesome scenery. Rained on us. What part of arid did the sky not understand? Rubbing a little sage made a wonderful aroma. I can see why the Native Americans liked this bush. And the lichen and moss! I am fascinated by them.

Beautiful park. Nicely wooded campsite. Crazy amount of flies while we cooked dinner over a campfire. Our site had a nice campfire ring and large picnic table. There was a nice clean bath house very close to our campsite as well. Nice little trails to walk around with a beautiful view of the snake river.

Well-maintained, quiet, beautiful park. Tons of groomed trails, lots of amazing rock formations, diverse wildlife and plant varieties, not to mention the most incredible views of the Snake River. Amenities include several docks, a boat ramp, fishing area, 18 hole disc golf course, an exploratory visitor center, several cabins, tent sites, and RV sites. Cabins have an air conditioner, mini fridge, table, chairs, bunk beds single over double) and a couch that that slides out into another double bed. RV sites have all hookups except sewer but there is a conveniently located dump station. Camp bathrooms are clean and the upper loop bathroom has showers. All camp sites have a fire pit and picnic bench and most have shade half the day from the surrounding trees. Camp sites are far enough apart and surrounded by juniper trees so there is enough privacy. Most of the year it is a bit breezy which is nice because it's a high desert climate. Overall, one of my most favorite state parks.

We had a wonderful time! The Cottontail cabin had a great view and was close to the trails throughout the park. The cabin was clean with a mini fridge and a/c unit (even though it struggled with the heat) which helped a lot. Beds were ok and the shade over the picnic table in the afternoon makes a big difference. Will be back!

Great lil state park and fantastic campground. Two small loops of camping, looked like every spot had electric and water. It is kind of expensive $25-30 for out-of-staters. Showers were nice as well, super clean! Trails and other areas to explore too. 10/10 would stop at again.

So beautiful! There is a boat ramp and a few docks here and there. We went kayaking and I will be back. Nice river to chill and spend the day on!

From the moment we arrived it was a very welcoming place. The woman taking tolls to get in (a small $7 fee) was super friendly and very helpful. And the visitors center there is full of interesting little books and toys to buy as well as a great peice of Oregon trail history for you to look at. But even if there wasn't all of that, the veiw was gorgeous and the place is full of campsites and trails that make for a fun outing for all ages.

Amazing view!! Worth the stop. It is a bigger complex than you would think, it has upper and lower campsites and day use areas. It also has fishing access on both ends. Totally worth planning a couple hours here.

We stay at this campground a couple times a year and it’s the cleanest, nicest place and has the friendliest employees. Always a great visit!

It’s a hidden little gem. Boat ramp
Is easily accessible. If you drive to the East there’s a walking path that leads to the Snake River. It’s beautiful. It’s a short little hike across the bridge.
There’s also a disc golf course.

Massacre Rock State park, dont let the name scare you away. This is located deep in the Juniper forest of Idaho.
Hookups are at each camp with a dump station on your way out.
Handicap bathroom and separate Shower area, public restrooms with flushing toilets.
Clean!
The cabins for rent on site are really nice, bring your own beddings, bathroom essentials, and such. They have power Wifi, window air conditioning , a bunk bed, futon, small table, nice front decks facing snake River and are nearest public restrooms and showers.
The campground has information about renting small boats for River use.

Gorgeous! Easy stop right off the interstate. Worth the $5 entrance fee for the perfect spot to stretch my legs and walk the dogs. There's so much to enjoy that you just can't see from the interstate. Must do if you're passing through.

Stayed here in a cabin in the winter off season in late january. only person in the campground. Temps dip into the teens. Was actually quite warm in the cabin, thanks to a wall mounted electric heater and an oil heater they provided. bed was comfortable and the views were amazing, with a very clear view of the stars at night. Glad I stopped over instead of staying in a hotel.

Word of advice, although a reservation is not needed, staffing and hours of operation are extremely limited in the winter months, call before showing up and leave a message if needed to coordinate an arrival to make sure someone will be there if you want to rent a cabin.
