High Bridge Trailhead near Pamplin, VA

It was an awesome ride it was well maintained and I enjoyed the view

I love running here! Elevation is almost dead flat, the trail is well maintained with lots of shade and I haven't run across much other traffic on my runs.

A great place for a roble ride with[ amazing scenery and pretty easy paths.

Excellent starting point if you intend to ride the full length (31 miles one way) of the High Bridge Trail . There is no access or parking at far end (it really just ends).
Path surface is crushed stone (limestone?) and in great condition. Not much to see along most of the trail as it passes through woods and fields. Grade is low and steady.
For a more moderate bike ride, Farmville is a good starting point. Quaint historic town with shops and wine tasting etc. Rental bikes are available from a shop next to the trail.
High Bridge is the main attraction and well worth a bike ride or short hike from the parking areas along the trail closer to the bridge.

It's 31.5 miles of wonderfully gently graded trail that shows someone's constant attention to maintaining well. The vast majority is gravel, but a fine (small) size gravel, giving a smooth ride. My better-half and I stayed at an AirBnB in Prospect, Va., allowing a good ride in either direction on the trail. Farmville, Va is a small town, but is very charming where the trail passes through it. The High Bridge itself is surprisingly impressive.

My favorite place to ride my bike and walk. No worries if you have kids that are learning ride. Old railroad line turned into a nice mostly flat straight riding/walking trail, no motorized vehicles allowed!🏇🏃🚴😁

A great place to walk, hike, or stroll. This is the end of the trail. Plans to extend to town are not complete. But it's an easy, safe, walk
