It's a pick up and go place. We got two pastries right as they open around 8am; one savory and one sweet. Both were excellent and oh so flaky ...and I was having a hard time choosing 😘. But, I know it doesn't matter what you get, they'll all be perfection. Can't wait to go back and get EVERYTHING 😋!

I'm literally coming back here everytime I make a trip to Orlando. The food here is soo good and affordable considering how big each baked good is and how fresh they are. Everything here is phenomenal. A must try bakery! Wish I came earlier when the breads were still warm but they have baked sweets and baked breakfasts as well with egg and proteins. Wish they had indoor seating and more space but it doesn't make them any less great

Went here for breakfast on Mother's Day. Wow....me and my kids shared 6 different items and they were all crazy good. It's very small inside and awkward. There were no utensils or condiments to be found such as butter for my plain croissant. This is a must try. I enjoyed the savory items more than the sweet and there were many options of both. Everything was fresh and crusts were flaky and crispy.

Buttermilk is a must stop for me whenever I visit Orlando and in my opinion is the best bakery you can find the area.

I started the everything bagel croissant which was super flaky and flavorful. The morning bun and blueberry muffin were both extremely fresh and baked to perfection. The cold brew had a nice rich flavor.

They have a ton of pastries to try so it’s a place I’ll continue coming back to.

Update February 2024 - STILL AWESOME

Believe the hype!!!

There’s a reason there is always a line for brunch. What Phil and his team do at Buttermilk is beyond amazing food - it’s “art and soul food”.

I can say definitively that every dish I have had the pleasure of eating has been thoughtfully prepared and went beyond the boundaries of delicious.

Phil’s food is good because he cares about his food and you can taste it in every single bite.

A year later - still super awesomeness! We haven’t been to Orlando since COVID-19 but our family has visited us a few times and each time they do we get the deliciousness of Buttermilk Bakery delivered to our door!

Poptarts, croissants filled with chocolate, pastries filled with cheese and EVERY SINGLE THING IS SOOOOO GOOD!!

Buttermilk Bakery is a Winter Park staple! Every time I'm in Orlando, it's a must stop place for breakfast before the drive home. I especially love the bacon cheddar pull apart and the scones! Amazing food, service, and people! Don't skip this place!!!

Small but pertinent selection of baked goods including some amazing things I've never seen. Overall fantastic.

one of my favorite all time pastry places. the most flakiest croissants and brioche donuts. If you're going to go closer to closing time at 2: 00pm even around 1pm I would recommend calling to make sure they have pastries

First time here, came for a little breakfast snack. It is a little small inside but we made our order and found plentiful shaded seating outside.

The croissants were unique and delicious. You could hear and feel the flaky crunch in every bite 🤤

Would come here again!

This has quickly become one of our favorite places to go for baked goods!! Everything is made fresh daily. We’ve gotten a pretty good range of the sweet and the savory items on the menu now, and haven’t been disappointed yet!
There is a small sitting area out front and off to the side of the building (which you can only access from the back parking lot- so you have to walk to the front to order, and walk back around to get to the side seating, which is also where the pick up window is.)
If you do order to stay, you can ask them to heat anything up and they’ll bring it to you!
Would be great if there was more parking! And I’ve never seen a bathroom, although I haven’t asked.

The pastries I ate today were phenomenal! I mean the best thing I have eaten in a while. I will be back tomorrow. The staff was very friendly and patient as I debated what to get. I got the Turkey, Bacon and Brie croissant and the Maple Brown Sugar pop tart. The croissant was so savory, flaky, and delicious. The pop tart was buttery, with the perfect brown sugar filling. I was dancing the whole time I was eating. I got both warmed up and it was a great decision. My only regrets is that I didn’t get more. There’s always tomorrow!

Great pastries! They have more than the typical flavors of croissants and pastries, and I heard their menu changes. I had an Apricot Earl Grey Danish and the layers of pastry dough were perfectly flaky. However, I couldn't discern a clear Earl grey flavor. Service was fast and friendly and I loved the rustic and bright decor. I'll definitely have to come back to try their brunch to truly complete this review.

Edit: Came back for brunch and had to raise this to 5 stars because everything tasted so fresh and came in perfect portion sizes! If you're looking for the quintessential New American style brunch, this is the perfect place!

One of the hole-in-the-wall gems of Winter Park, Buttermilk Bakery is a quaint, beautiful little bakery that hides along the shops on the strip on Orange Ave. Mindful of both form and function, they know how to make delicious and decadent pastries, both savory and sweet. I'm incredibly impressed with the incredible eye to detail in everything. Some items are even made gluten-free as to make them a little bit less 'guilty' since it's hard to contain oneself when faced with the choices this place offers.

Their ordering function on the website is incredibly useful and is accurate in depicting what is in stock and what isn't. I recommend using this feature to place your order prior to you arriving in order to guarantee getting what you want. You can bet with a place as good as this that the most desired items will be sold first. With the savory croissant tarts, all of the elements involved are carefully thought out and treated appropriately. The mushroom tart for example has mushrooms that are perfectly cooked and a decent enough size to get a flavour pop, which is enhanced by the smoked cheddar that accompanies it. The Calabrian chili that's on the tomato tart is the perfect component to balance the earthiness of the tomato with the savouriness of the cheese and croissant.

The Kouign-amann pastry is one of the sweet items that everybody must try from Buttermilk Bakery. Simple, yet not simple is it's technique and execution, but delicious and has a greater depth of flavor than you would expect out of this little package. I'm not sure if there's a schedule to what items get made what day, but I enjoy variety enough to appreciate a rotating menu to always try something new and exciting. The baklava croissant is a well-executed and interesting spin on the original and I enjoyed it. I hope that everybody who comes here and tries what they have to offer walks away as satisfied and happy as I have.

Delicious and moderately priced. The staff are really friendly and the place is cutely decorated. Gets busy in the morning so make sure to come early!

The brioche donut was absolutely amazing and would definitely recommend. The morning bun seemed to also be a hit—it’s flakey, light, with a dusting of what tastes like apple cinnamon sugar.

One of the best cafes in Orlando. It’s affordable and authentic. The store feels so warm. The ambiance gives you that raw feel with road view but at the same time you can try and attend a meeting, which my friend did, lol.
Overall it was pleasant, I would go again if I visit Orlando again.

I LOVE this place! Before COVID-19, we loved eating at that patio to eat their pastries and donuts. The croissants are perfect and flaky. The donuts are amazing too! If you’re an early riser, put in an order around 7am. Then you can pick it up around in a couple of hours. Don’t order too late or you’ll miss the good stuff. It’s worth the wait!

Amazing bakery. I've never been able to find a place who actually makes croissants correctly.

Too many times you get the American style croissant which you can tell takes way less effort to make. They definitely take the time to go through the full process of croissants.

Staff was also very friendly and helpful!

Great place, great breads! If you're looking for a delicious bread for your breakfast, this is the place for you. You must get the croissant. Also, they have a decent amount of comfortable seating areas to dine in and have a good chat with your friend. For sure recommended!

DELICIOUS! We tried just about everything and they were all excellent. The pastry is flaky yet tender and chewy with flavorful fillings. The homemade granola and yogurt with fresh berries was also a winner. We drove 45 minutes and it was well worth it!
